To meditate is to understand and observe the ego activities.
So in that observance,
The self,
The me,
Ends.
So to do that,
We have to accept ourselves at this moment.
No matter how do we feel,
We have to accept the very existence at this moment.
Without this acceptance,
We can't really observe.
When we are in issues,
In conflict,
In all kinds of challenges,
We develop strong reactions to the self.
So the very acceptance of the self of this moment is becoming very challenging.
So the mind is seeking all kinds of escapes to not face the self,
Face the only source of all issues.
Then this creates more issues and avoidance in the escape.
So to observe the self,
The me,
Is to accept it.
When one accepts oneself,
It doesn't mean that one is right or reasonable through the justification,
Which is still a form of self-deception,
Which has nothing to do with the acceptance.
When you don't judge yourself,
When you don't say it's right,
It's wrong,
That's the acceptance.
So this moment,
For example,
I feel anxious.
Okay,
I just accept that.
I don't say it's bad,
Or I need to get rid of it.
Then you can't really accept,
Because the very judgment on yourself is the reaction to yourself.
Then the mind wants all kinds of comfort,
All kinds of escape,
Theories,
Ideas,
Entertainment.
And this self-inquiry stops.
All the issues continue.
