We are taught to take responsibility for ourselves,
Making this word responsibility very dreadful.
At some time,
We suffer so much from all kinds of driving,
Effort,
Wanting,
Grieving.
So when we ask oneself,
Is one really responsible or not?
Being responsible and being responsible for oneself seem to be two completely different things.
When we are responsible for ourselves,
We don't care about others.
With all kinds of incentives,
Aims,
Goals,
Dreams,
We are striving for it.
But we don't have an affection for anyone else,
Even for ourselves.
To meditate is to observe this.
When we are responsible for ourselves,
We are not responsible at all.
Because when we say we are responsible,
Not for somebody,
Not for ourselves,
We are just responsible.
Then a different energy comes in.
So to meditate is to inquire into this field which is called thoughts,
Consciousness.
To really investigate,
Inquire seriously,
To ask ourselves,
Can we live a life with affection?
Not compelled by all kinds of thoughts in terms of goal,
Ambition,
Target,
Purpose.
To be able to do that,
Which is to take actions spontaneously with the affection for others.
Not compelled by ambitions,
Targets,
Purpose,
Or the rest of it.
