People seek a lot of things from thoughts,
Motivated by some illusions.
Perhaps you have noticed that the mind is really dynamic,
Isn't it?
It changes moment by moment.
The feeling you have in the early morning can be very different from that in the afternoon.
The perception changes.
The emotion changes.
Life is really alive,
Isn't it?
Because the neural activities are different at each moment.
This is the beauty of life.
The beauty lies in the dynamics.
It has always changed.
It never stops.
The moment when we want something to stop,
To stay,
We want an idea to stay,
An image to stay,
In the hope that that image,
That thought,
That idea can bring about the perpetual pleasure.
I want to eternalize the pleasure.
So I want to have that thought.
I want to hold that thought as my wish.
But the moment the thought stays,
The mind begins to have trouble.
The mind begins to encounter conflict,
Contradiction.
It's like when one is standing in the torrents,
One's leg can feel the pressure from the water.
That kind of pressure is the analogy to the conflict of the mind.
The mind is always changing the neural dynamics,
But when that image or thought stays there,
It inevitably leads to the neural conflicts,
Which leads to all kinds of neuroticism,
All kinds of mental challenges,
Problems,
Conflicts.
So it is very important for one to realize this self-deception.
The self wants some abiding pleasure,
Wants something permanent.
But it is the opposite to the fact because when the thought,
The image stays,
All kinds of trouble appear.
But the mind still wants pleasure,
Still wants the pleasure to be permanent.
In that loop,
The mind is trapped in the issue forever.
Until the mind realizes this loop,
This self-deception.
The deception is always contrary to the fact.
If the mind cannot work out the self-deception,
Then that kind of deception only propels the mind to get more issues,
Trouble,
Find the conflict,
Find the contradictions,
Find the clash of the neural paths.
Such a real life enhances the habit of seeking,
Seeking pleasure from thoughts,
Identifying with thoughts,
Interacting with thoughts.
Creating the habit of attachment.
It's not you are attached,
But the mind is attached.
