**Note: Truth does not always sound pleasant. If the mind is not really peaceful now, it might not be a perfect moment to listen to this podcast, one has to be aware of the emotions or reactions that can block one from listenING ATTENTIVELY and with HUMILITY. This talk is a meditation practice. What one needs to do is listen attentively, without getting stuck in words, examine the mind in silence, not agree or disagree, just look at the mind as it is. Doing so is already part of true meditation.

In this chaos of the concept ideas,

The language plays a role.

There are all kinds of games inside creating such a nonsensical concept which is called freedom.

Can the mind not be trapped in thoughts,

In those ideas,

Concepts?

To inquire into this question is the first step to find out what is freedom.

The freedom in actuality,

Not as an idea.

Idea has no meaning at all for the actual life.

And in actuality,

A free life matters most,

Doesn't it?

When a mind is free,

The mind is free to do and free not to do.

Freedom must cover those both sides.

I'm free to do something.

I'm also free not to do something.

Perhaps the latter is more important,

More significant than the former.

Free not to do.

This implies that the mind must not be trapped.

When the mind is trapped in its own desire,

Its own neurotic urges,

The mind can make up the phenomenon that it is free to do,

But it is that it has to do,

It must do it because the urge.

If the mind is really free,

It must be free not to do,

Free from the desire,

Free of all these mental urges.

And only in that state,

The mind has no attachment.

The attachment also implies these mental urges.

Therefore,

A mind that has attachment has no freedom,

And a free mind has no attachment.
