**Note: Truth does not always sound pleasant. If the mind is not really peaceful now, it might not be a perfect moment to listen to this podcast, one has to be aware of the emotions or reactions that can block one from listenING ATTENTIVELY and with HUMILITY. This talk is a meditation practice. What one needs to do is listen attentively, without getting stuck in words, examine the mind in silence, not agree or disagree, and just look at the mind as it is. Doing so is already part of true meditation.

This moment,

Let's inquire together as usual.

This session is never divorced from the daily life,

The daily living.

It is part of it.

This moment,

You and speaker set aside everything else,

So we can inquire without any burden.

We are free to inquire,

To question,

To examine,

To investigate,

To understand this living,

This complicated life.

This moment,

No matter how busy you were,

Now,

Let's be free together to empty everything,

To set aside everything,

To gather the energy,

So we can really give full attention to this moment,

To understand.

This world is full of all kinds of theories,

Ideas,

Concepts.

The mind has been conditioned to it.

So the ideas,

Thoughts,

Concepts,

Theories are the content of this consciousness,

Endless.

We can't rely on thoughts to understand ourselves because thoughts are always limited.

But a mind which is living in thoughts can never find that the thoughts are limited because the mind is conditioned to it,

Conditioned to the thoughts.

That's why such a life has no self-awareness.

It doesn't know its own limitation.

And therefore,

Such a living is full of confusion,

Problems.

There are numerous issues in the daily living,

But the mind is confused.

To inquire is not to use thoughts to inquire.

Instead,

When we have thoughts here,

We can't inquire.

Thoughts can imagine,

Can analyze,

Can theorize,

Can assume,

Can stipulate,

Speculate.

But it is still in the limits of thoughts.

To understand at this moment,

The mind must observe with full attention,

With all the energy gathered from thoughts.

Simply look without running away,

Without making a judgment,

Or condemnation,

Or justification.

The mind is so easy to rationalize a lot of things,

Justify a lot of things,

Condemn a lot of things.

But all those are still in the limits of thoughts.

It is always partial,

Always fragmented,

Because thoughts are always biased,

Prejudiced,

And fragmented.

So to inquire into the self,

Into living,

Is to inquire into the limit of thoughts.

And in that inquiry,

The mind goes beyond thoughts to perceive,

To look,

To observe at this moment.

Such a mind has no fear because the mind doesn't run away,

Escape into thoughts.

And such a mind is free,

Free to look,

Observe,

Understand.

And such a life is clear.

This lucidity only comes from a quality mind that is able to understand the limits of thoughts.

Such a mind negates the thoughts totally.

It is not to cut off the thoughts brutally.

That's childish.

But the mind totally understands the limitation of thoughts.

So the mind is no longer attached to thoughts,

Ideas,

Theories.

And only such a mind,

Which is free of any attachment,

It's really free.
