Welcome to this short self-compassion meditation.
As women in leadership,
We can often hold ourselves to very high standards,
Needing to push and prove ourselves in a traditionally masculine world.
We are responsible for many roles and we feel the obligation to do all of them well.
We often feel guilty when we prioritize work over home and we sometimes berate ourselves if we ever have to prioritize family over work.
Then we have to fit in fitness,
Maybe caring for a family member and don't forget the socializing.
We are always pushing ourselves to reach these unreachable standards.
So for the next couple of minutes you can just stop and let go.
Take a nice big deep breath in and on the exhale relax and take a break from the busyness.
Take a break from all of your responsibilities and commitments.
And if you haven't done so already,
Get yourself comfortable in your seat.
Take another long slow deep breath in right down to your diaphragm.
And as you exhale,
Tell yourself to relax just a little bit more.
Inhaling,
Refreshing and energizing oxygen,
Exhaling and relaxing.
Inhale,
Refreshing,
Exhale,
Relaxing.
And one more time,
Inhale and refresh,
Exhale and relax.
Allow yourself to be guided by me,
Safe and secure in your own space.
Now bring your attention into your body and start to let go of the comparisons.
Comparing yourself and your work to others.
Let it go.
Let go of the judgments,
The not feeling or being good enough.
Just let that go.
Let go of the self-criticism,
The mistakes,
The should or could have dones.
Just let them all go.
Breathing in slowly and deeply.
Breathing out and letting go.
And once again,
Let go of the comparisons.
Let go of the judgments.
Let go of the self-criticism.
And breathe in self-acceptance and love.
Breathe out and let go.
Breathing in self-respect and admiration.
Breathing out and letting go.
Breathing in confidence and connection.
Breathing out and letting go.
Now bring your attention to your heart.
You can place your hands over your heart or just keep your attention on your heart.
Feel the warm feeling,
The beating.
Keep focusing on your heart and continue to breathe deeply and slowly.
Breathing in and out through your beautiful heart.
Now thank your heart for all that it does for you.
Feel the gratitude.
Now thank yourself for all that you do.
Feel the warmth of your heart and know that inside your heart you hold self-love,
Self-compassion,
Self-respect and self-acceptance.
Know that it is here in your heart that holds your strength and your power.
And even if you don't feel these emotions fully right now,
Imagine what it would feel like to feel compassion and love and self-acceptance every day.
Now just sit for a few moments longer,
Appreciating all that you have done,
All that you have achieved and feel the love from your heart.
Now take another long,
Slow,
Deep breath in and when you are ready you can open your eyes.
