So get yourself settled,
Taking a nice slow deep breath in and exhaling reminding your body,
You've nowhere to be,
You have plenty of time to just be here now,
Adjusting your body if need be and as you do just notice where your body touches the chair or the floor or the bed,
Getting a sense of your body in the room that you're in,
Take another long slow deep breath in and exhale and fully arrive and just notice now how your body feels,
Perhaps you're feeling tired or a little sluggish,
There might be heaviness around the eyes,
Your energy might be low or maybe your mind is not fully awake,
Just noticing all of the sensations in the body,
Notice without judgment,
Our mind often wants to judge or explain or even predict what's going to happen,
So if you're feeling groggy or tired or maybe your mind doesn't feel sharp,
We start to explain what that means or what that will mean for your day,
So how can we notice what's going on without labeling it,
Without deciding what this means for me,
So in future when we feel a particular way,
Can we notice the thought,
Acknowledge it but not jump forward to conclusions about what that means,
But again we don't want to criticize ourselves,
It's okay if your mind does that because that's really what minds do,
But we want to have that awareness to not let one thought spiral out of control,
So how can you meet yourself with these feelings,
How can you speak to yourself with more care or compassion when we notice something we don't like,
We see it,
We acknowledge it and maybe then we can meet ourselves with compassion,
We can notice and soften our inner response,
Tell our bodies I see you,
I know you're tired but it'll be okay,
There will be times when we need to keep going,
When we need to encourage ourselves to get through a day,
But then there will be times where we need to listen,
When our body is telling us to stop,
To rest,
To completely step back,
So when we respond to our body with harshness or negative thinking it drains our energy further,
But if we can approach it with self-compassion or self-respect we're going to preserve our energy,
So noticing now how your body feels and how you're choosing to respond and if you feel unwell or your body has just had enough we also need to listen to that without judgment,
Without dramatizing what's going on or what that will mean if we stop,
Sometimes we have to stop and prioritize ourselves,
Tell yourself I trust that I will know the difference,
I trust that I can meet what's coming,
That I can recognize what I need without labeling,
Without catastrophizing and without completely abandoning yourself,
When we tell ourselves we trust ourselves it creates a steadiness inside us,
It primes us to make the right decision,
To listen to our intuition,
To know what's needed next,
To just repeat I trust,
That I know what my body needs,
I trust that I will make the right decision and just feel that steadiness wash through your body,
Taking a nice big deep breath in,
Locking in that trust and steadiness and exhaling and one more time breathing in and letting go,
And committing once again to have a wonderful inner day.
