Hi and welcome to this short meditation to help you maintain your team's remote performance.

As a leader we can often feel overwhelmed with the pressure of not only hitting our own goals and targets but ensuring that the whole team gets results.

We often forget to take a step back to reassess when we are caught in the busyness of our daily workload.

This meditation will help you take a little time out to let go of the grind to refocus and reset.

Remember your state affects your team's state so taking this time out is an exercise that will benefit all.

So let us begin.

Start to become aware of your body right now.

How are you sitting in your chair?

Are your shoulders tight or hunched?

If they are,

Take a moment to adjust your posture,

Relaxing any part of your body that is feeling tight.

Now straighten your back,

Allowing the oxygen to flow through your body with each breath.

Now bring your attention to your breath and just observe how you are breathing right now.

Is your breathing slow and deep or is it fast and shallow?

With more conscious attention I invite you to take a long,

Slow,

Deep breath in and relax your body on the exhale.

With each inhale imagine the flow of the breath in through your nostrils,

Down the back of your throat,

Filling your chest cavity and right down into your stomach.

Visualise your diaphragm flattening and contracting as you inhale and relaxing and returning to its natural dome-like shape as the air is forced out of your lungs.

Continue to breathe,

Visualising what's happening to the air in your body.

Inhaling,

Expanding the space within,

Exhaling,

Relaxing.

Inhaling,

Expanding the space,

Exhaling,

Relaxing.

Inhaling,

Expanding,

Exhaling,

Relaxing.

Now that you have reset yourself a little bit you can ask yourself these three questions.

Are my team clear on their goals?

Do any of my team need my support or attention?

And what do I need to manage my own time,

Energy and focus?

Remember that breaks increase your productivity so taking five minutes to meditate during the day is not a self-indulgent activity but one that will improve your performance and that of your team.

Why not create a team ritual of allocated time each day for meditation breaks?

So I hope that you are feeling a little bit more relaxed and refreshed and I wish you a beautiful and productive day.
