Behind every creation on this planet are four simple elements,

Earth,

Air,

Fire and Water.

Together they create ether,

The element of the New World.

Each of us possesses a different amount of each element,

Which can be seen by looking at the astrology chart.

Having too much of one element can be as challenging as having too little.

And in this meditation you'll have the chance to assess whether your elements are in balance with each other or need a little help.

Before we begin let's explore what each element means.

First,

Fire and Air are masculine elements,

Outgoing.

Earth and Water are feminine,

More magnetic and creating,

Nurturing and nesting.

This has little to do with gender but more with how you approach life.

As with everything we need to make sure we balance these elements in our daily life.

If for instance you have a little Earth or a little Water,

You may wish to spend more time around Water,

Such as in baths,

Swimming or working in the garden or living by mountains.

Conversely,

If you have low Fire you may prefer warm foods and warm climates,

Or with low Air to live in places where the Air is not stagnant.

Even our body and mind relate to each of the four elements.

Our bones,

Hair,

Nails and their sensations relate to Earth,

Creating structure essential for every other element.

Water is expressed through our blood and lymph system and through our feelings.

The quality of Water is connected with what could be described as Love,

The desire to unify.

But if we have too much Water we often need to acquire healthy emotional boundaries.

Air is expressed through the lungs and the throat and the quality of thinking.

We use words like inspiration,

Which is the highest level of thinking,

Where we breathe in a new idea to be expressed into the world.

Challenge to Air comes when we fill ourselves with thinking but never manifest it into reality.

Finally,

Fire is connected to the electrical impulses of the brain,

The enzyme activities of the digestive system and the regenerative processes of the body.

The mental quality is intuition.

Fire is the quality of transformation,

Suggesting that Fire creates permanent damage but also permanent change.

But if we just get fired up but hold on to those patterns,

Then that Fire can burn us out.

I hope through this information you'll be able to have an understanding of how the elements deeply impact your life.

And as you work through the meditation,

I suggest you let go of all the knowledge I've just given you and let the elements speak to you.

Enjoy.

You can hear I really love working with the elements.

I hope you will too.

So I'm preparing for you to be in a place like not driving or not doing anything else where you could do this meditation with me.

Please,

If you're not in a suitable place,

If you're driving,

Wait until you're in a suitable place where you can have your feet on the ground and you can have your eyes closed.

So if you're ready,

Then please to come with me now.

As always,

Take a few deep breaths.

So you take a short breath in and a long breath out.

Come down into your body,

Washing down through your body all the thoughts that may be circulating,

Even from what I've said.

Just do that a few times,

Breathing in,

Breathing out,

Letting go.

Now we're going to go through each of the elements in turn.

I'm going to do it in two ways.

One,

We're going to meet our own animal of that element.

And secondly,

We're going to then merge with that element and see what it needs to be empowered to be in flow.

So breathing with me through your heart,

Find yourself in a place where there is earth that can be as small as a grain of sand.

It can be just stones.

It can be a mountain.

Wherever you found yourself,

Where there is earth.

Just become aware of the environment around you.

Now coming towards you is your own inner earth animal.

Let the first thought be the right one.

What is the animal that represents your inner earth?

See it now.

How does it feel?

And if you were to step into it,

How would that feel to be that earth animal?

What would be the three words you would use to describe your earth animal?

And how comfortable are you with this animal?

In other words,

If it's slow,

Do you want to be faster?

Does it feel as if it's flowing in a way that really helps you ground yourself?

Does it feel solid?

Does that feel good or does it feel stagnant?

If this earth animal could talk to you,

What would it say?

What does it need from you?

Stone or earth is slow,

But is it too slow?

Does it need to be moved?

Or does it need to slow down and really appreciate its qualities?

Now as the earth animal,

Or if you're not that comfortable with it,

Just as yourself,

I want you to address a piece of stone or earth that is by you.

Some,

As they say,

It will just be a grain of sand.

Some it may be a stone,

It may be a mountain,

A hill.

But I want you to say,

Please earth beings,

I choose to get to know you.

I want to help.

I come in humility.

I come because I honour your strength.

And just for a moment,

I want you to merge with whatever stone,

Earth structure you have met.

Feel yourself as earth,

As stone,

As a grain of sand,

As a mountain.

How does that feel?

And what can you learn about the movement,

The empowerment,

The flow of earth by being in this place?

Now step out and please honour the stone,

The earth kingdom,

And say,

I will serve you,

Help you in whatever way I can.

So you're both learning what it's like to be that earth or that stone,

But you're also saying,

I will meet you again and together we will make sure that this element flows well and is empowered.

Now I ask you just to come back,

Not to open your eyes,

But just leave that scene.

We're going to move now into the element of fire.

So once again,

See yourself through your heart,

Come into a place where there is fire.

It can be raging fire,

It can be smouldering fire.

It can be something contained and something not contained.

Don't concentrate on that too much at the moment.

Let's just come back to your animal.

What is the animal that represents your inner fire?

See it now.

What animal appears?

See it now.

How would you describe that animal?

And what does it feel like to step into that animal?

Do you know this energy?

Is it safe?

Is it scary?

Familiar?

How does that feel?

What does this animal need from you?

Step out of the animal and once again bless and honour the element of fire in front of you.

Say I have come to help,

I have come to help the flow and the empowerment of fire,

The element of fire both within the earth,

Within my being,

Within the world.

I really appreciate how fire changes.

And if for a moment you want to step into that fire and just feel it and ask that fire how can I help?

What does the fire need from you?

Maybe the fire says I don't want you to stop me,

I am here to bring change.

Maybe the fire says I need some containment,

I need you to pay attention to me.

What is the fire wanting?

What does it feel like to be the fire?

Now step out of the fire,

Bring those thoughts with you.

We are going to go to water next.

So clearing your thoughts,

Just holding the memories.

Find yourself by a place of water.

Maybe just a puddle,

Maybe an ocean,

Maybe the rain.

And looking around see an animal that represents water.

Of course this may be an animal that is used to being in water,

But you may be surprised.

What is the animal of your water?

How would you describe that animal?

And stepping into that animal,

How is this familiar to you?

The flow,

The connection.

Are you familiar and comfortable with this animal of the water?

Are you able to breathe if it goes under the water?

Do you still feel in control?

Is it freedom?

What does this animal bring you?

What's the animal need from you?

And stepping out of that animal,

Let yourself look around and see the water.

What water is attracting you?

Once again,

Honour that water.

Honour what it does to the earth.

It cleanses,

It clears,

It flows,

It transports,

It connects.

Enter into that water,

Become the water.

How does that feel?

Do you feel powerful?

Do you feel limited?

Do you feel expansive?

What does water do for you?

Does it wash away?

Stepping out of the water,

Honour it and say,

I will help wherever I can to clear the flow,

To use the water for cleansing.

I also need to not see water flooding out of control.

How can I help that flow,

That empowerment without limiting?

Where is water trying to get our attention?

Now step away from that breathing.

Finally the element of air.

This time I want you to see yourself around trees.

Trees are the communicator of air.

They produce the oxygen for us.

They are the breathers of the earth.

They are the lungs of the earth.

Your trees may be very small,

They may be a whole forest.

And now look around,

What is the animal that represents your air?

Of course it could be a bird or something that flies,

But it doesn't have to be.

What animal represents air to you?

Your air.

What qualities does that animal bring you?

What does it feel like to embody or step into that animal?

Do you know it?

Does it feel safe and strong?

Is it a little unbalanced?

How does it feel to be that animal?

What does that animal need from you?

Now step out of that animal and turn to the trees.

Now I want you to imagine that there is a doorway into the tree,

Into the trunk of the tree especially.

That you are now the tree.

How is the flow of energy through that tree?

From the roots,

The deep,

Deep roots,

The root chakra,

All the way up to the branches.

Clear any obstruction that may be there in the tree to the flow of energy between heaven and earth and heaven.

Breathe with the tree.

Be the tree.

What does the tree need?

Does it need a stronger trunk or a weaker trunk,

Not so thick?

Does it need companions,

Other forests?

What does it feel like to be the tree?

What does it need from you?

What's obstructing any of its flow?

What's the need to breathe for the trees?

And once again now step out,

Honour the trees,

Say you will help in any way you can.

Bring your awareness fully back.

I was clearing the breath.

Please bring your awareness back to the room where you are.

Well that was a little coughing fit I had when I was breathing with the trees that felt quite blocked for me.

It may also be my own problems but I really felt that it was clearing.

I was clearing for the trees.

I needed to have a little cough.

So what I want you to end with is see the animals,

See how they get on with each other,

See which ones need to calm down,

Which needs to be lifted up and work with the elements that are in the earth.

Honouring,

Becoming,

Not controlling,

Living with,

Learning from them.

And that's the way we need to be living now,

Not as guardians or controllers of this earth.

We need to live with her.

She is changing,

She is perfecting,

She wants to reach her perfect state.

And we better be along for the ride.

And the best way of doing it is understanding her from that elemental level.

I’m a natural auditory learner. This was the first time that I was able to visualise, stay fully focused and benefit from the experience. I found earth to be the ‘hardest’ element for me, foreign. The animal was powerful, self-focused and predatory, apparently without the capacity to relate to other beings with love or compassion. Yet, at the end, there was a flat white stone, shaped like a book, which was a faithful friend. The other animal elements were also like friends whom I admired and wished to emulate. Each had admirable qualities that could be expressed despite the limitations of their physical being. Don’t know what all this means but I’m enjoying the way that I feel after the exercise. 🙏🏻💞

I wish I had been given more time for each scene, as well as some interpretative guidelines at the end. This is such a powerful and beautiful meditation that 22 minutes do not do it justice!
