Tapping on the thought "I have no energy to help myself" to release the heavy feeling of the moment, shift the mind and energy of the body into alignment. Depression and anxiety symptoms may not be something we can think ourselves free from, but we can move the energy in that moment into something more empowering. Often our depression and anxiety thoughts are not based on truth, although they feel very real. We can use the belief we can help ourselves to shift and take a small action step forward. Welcome back to another Emotional Freedom Technique Tapping video.

My name is Christine and we're going to be tapping on the redo.

Hi,

Welcome back to another Emotional Freedom Technique Tapping video.

My name is Christine and we are going to tap on the phrase,

I have no energy to help myself today.

We are going to start with three karate chop taps.

We're going to be tapping on the fleshy side of our hand right under the pinky.

We're going to tap there for three times and then we're going to move right into our first tapping point,

The eyebrow bone.

From there we're going to move into the side eye bone.

After that we're going to move into the under eye again on the eye bone.

From there we're going to go under the nose,

Tapping right above the lip.

After that we're going to move down to the point right below our lower lip.

From here we're going to move down into the collar bone.

After that we're going to move to the spot underneath the underarm for women right at the bra line.

And we're going to finish with tapping on the top of the head.

You can use one finger,

Two fingers,

You can use one hand,

Both hands,

Whatever you feel is needed is appropriate for you to do.

Take one deep breath in with me and let it go.

Take another inhale through your nose and let it go.

Let's begin with the karate chop.

I have no energy to help myself but I love and accept myself.

We're going to move to the eyebrow tap.

Here I am again,

Feeling stuck,

Depressed,

And unmotivated.

Side eye,

I hate when I feel like this.

Below the eye,

I feel like a failure who can't even manage the smallest things.

Above the lip,

I know it won't last forever,

But at the same time,

I feel like this will never end.

Below the lip,

I want to help myself,

But I'm so exhausted even thinking about it.

Collarbone,

I know some of my triggers,

But sometimes I feel like it hits me out of nowhere.

Under the arm,

Even though I am struggling,

Top of the head,

I love and accept myself.

Eyebrow,

Today is a hard day.

Side eye,

This moment is a hard moment.

Under eye,

I feel like I have no energy to help myself.

Top lip,

But ironically,

Here I am,

Helping myself through tapping.

Below the lip,

Even while I'm struggling and feeling like I have no energy,

Collarbone,

I am doing something.

Under arm,

I am helping myself in a way that I can in this moment.

Top of the head,

I am doing my best in this moment.

Under eye,

Eyebrow,

Some days I really need to take it moment by moment.

Side eye,

One moment to get to the next.

Under eye,

My desire to heal is stronger than the weight of the depression.

Under eye,

Top lip,

Even though sometimes I wanna hide inside my depression rather than face the world.

Under lip,

I don't have to hide.

Collarbone,

I can have a recovery day that is still supporting my mental health.

Under eye,

Under arm,

And accept that is what I need.

Top of the head,

I am taking it one moment at a time.

Eyebrow,

Each moment builds on the next.

Side eye,

Side eye,

Each moment I become stronger.

Under eye,

Even though I take steps back in my recovery,

I love and accept myself.

Top lip,

It's normal to struggle and I love and accept myself.

Under lip,

I am giving myself the help I need in this moment.

Collarbone,

And that is enough for right now.

Under arm,

I am giving myself the help I need in this moment.

Top head,

And that is enough for right now.

Take a deep breath in through your nose and breathe out.

Just breathing normally.

I want you to assess where this energy is,

What level this energy is after one round.

If this energy level is still above a five out of 10,

I want you to start this recording over and begin again from the karate chop.

You do this until that energy level has decreased to below a three,

Ideally a zero,

Where the energy is completely released out through the body.

Do the tapping as many rounds as you need.

What I’ve learned about depression is that even a little movement, especially when it’s guided kindly, helps my brain to reset. This is that type of meditation and I think it’s important that you encourage repeating it. Thank you. Jan
