You find yourself thinking about a way forward,

Or trying to find a path that will lead you to all of your answers.

Perhaps it feels like there are too many thoughts in your mind to focus on any one image.

Close your eyes,

Stop looking,

And instead,

Just listen.

Let your ears do the finding.

Now concentrate and focus on the sound of your breathing and the quietness of this moment.

Every deliberate effort of your own awareness will begin to slow down each breath.

Allow your breathing to become calmer on its own,

Which in turn will naturally quiet in your mind.

Don't worry,

Your body will mirror the behaviour of your mind.

Right now you may sense a feeling of pressure on or around your head from the thoughts that may be swirling around in your mind,

Possibly reaching down to your neck and perhaps your shoulders.

It's ok,

The stress felt in your body will start to dilute in a few moments.

As you listen to your breathing,

Each breath out begins to ease your mind as it becomes quieter and quieter.

You may realise that this is your time,

Your private metaphysical and physical space to enjoy.

You may also realise that now is a time to release,

To relax and let go,

To be in the present,

Not the past or the future,

But here in this moment.

Nothing is happening in this moment,

You have the time to yourself and nothing will change in the next few hours.

I'd like you to now sense your current mindset.

If there are too many thoughts to concentrate upon,

Visualise slowing them down.

You can do this in two ways.

The first way is to breathe your problems away when you exhale.

Do it slowly and naturally.

The second way is by being aware of the area between your eyebrows.

Imagine that there is a door there.

I'd like you to close the door.

Gently focusing your awareness in either way will start the process of slowing down your mind and relaxing your body.

That's it,

Slowing down,

Becoming quieter and more relaxed.

Any heat or tightness around your head,

Neck and shoulders begin to disperse and evaporate.

Any mind chatter becomes a dull hum that slowly fades out of your consciousness.

Your mind is now emptying of any excess thoughts that need not be there,

Making space for your own thinking.

Your mind becomes quieter and quieter to allow the enjoyment of a slower pace.

You may notice that your face muscles are becoming looser,

Or that your eyes are softening.

Relax into every soothing silent space in your mind.

There's no need to branch out anymore with your thinking.

There's no need to acknowledge every thought,

You can just allow them to pass.

As your mind slows down further,

Your head becomes heavier,

Sinking slowly into your soft pillow.

The more that you latch onto the present,

This moment,

The more at ease you will become.

There is nothing to think about,

Unless you want to.

There are no distractions to the thoughts that you want to focus upon.

Allow yourself to be truly present.

With each slower breath and each quieter moment in your mind,

You feel at peace.

Like a chain reaction,

The feelings of bliss in your mind spread down to your neck muscles,

Loosening each tendon and fibre.

It doesn't stop there,

From the relief that you sense in your neck,

A wave of tranquility spreads to your shoulders and the tops of your arms.

Becoming softer,

Looser and more relaxed,

You let go more.

The realisation that you are closer to fully experiencing the present,

Makes your chest widen,

Allowing for deeper and longer breaths.

As you breathe slower,

But deeper,

That wave of calmness from your chest helps your arms,

Wrists,

Hands and fingers to loosen.

The sound of silence is enough for you to form your own images in your mind now,

Especially as there is more space to think.

Thinking about a positive place or time,

You allow that image to fade in.

As it does,

It begins to be more colourful,

More vivid.

Perhaps,

The image that you see in your mind is now animated and there in front of you,

Like a dream.

Immerse yourself in it completely.

As your stomach loosens and your back descends deeply into your bed,

There are no more distracting thoughts in your mind now.

You can freely explore the place that is presented in your imagination.

Going deeper,

Your hips become heavy,

Slowly gravitating downwards with the soothing experience that plays out in your mind.

Relaxing more and more,

You release yourself into your imagination.

As you make your own interpretation of the present and what it means to you,

Your legs slowly rest deeply on the bed.

You may now fall asleep if you wish,

As your ankles turn to a comfortable position,

Unlocking a beautiful comfort that radiates to your feet and toes.

You are now fully present and you have the space and time to relax as you wish.

Or perhaps,

You may feel so relaxed that you could fall asleep.

Relax and enjoy this quiet time that is just for you.

Rest in yourself and just let go.

Thank you.
