I'd like you to take some time for yourself,

To let go of things that are persistently on your mind.

I'd like you to take things a little slower,

And remind you that you don't have to think about everything all the time.

In the next few minutes,

You will find some peace in a more rational way of thinking,

And a calmer persuasion of positive thoughts.

The types of thoughts you think about can be influenced by what you experience during your waking hours.

Sometimes,

Certain experiences can make your mind overthink,

Resulting in the form of mind chatter or creating a sense of overwhelm.

This meditation can be used as an escape,

Or a distraction,

Which will help to bring down your levels of stress,

Negative thoughts and anxiety,

Whilst at the same time creating enough space for you to maybe recognise what may trigger this way of thinking.

Adjust your body to a position that you find the most comfortable,

And close your eyes.

You have the ability to turn off any thoughts that keep you awake.

Most of those thoughts can branch out into different scenarios without endings or resolutions.

I'd like you to calmly observe what goes on in your mind without reacting or interacting.

Create some space between you and your thoughts.

Perhaps you can visualise seeing your thoughts by looking through a window,

Or being far enough away to see things from a new perspective.

Feel relaxed as you sense your thoughts now slowly fading away.

The lack of interaction with them now gives them no power.

You are absolutely allowed to relax,

To have some peace before going to sleep.

Take your time,

And that is what this is,

Your time.

In this moment I'd like it to be completely about you,

And nothing else.

Begin to feel your chest loosening as your breathing cycle lengthens and deepens.

Everything a little smoother,

A little more calmer and relaxed.

Taking notice of each outward breath,

Sense how your whole body begins to sink downwards in relief.

Relaxing is as easy as that,

Allow the automatic cycle of your breath to flow smoothly and gently through you.

As you breathe in,

You accept an uplifting energy that begins to circulate around your body.

Breathing out,

You expel any tense sensations,

Which gently relaxes your muscles.

Now every part of you becomes a little cooler,

A little calmer,

And your mind a little quieter.

As your neck and shoulders untighten from this uncomplicated and simplified state,

Your mind becomes clear.

The idea is not to be thought less,

But to be mindful of your thoughts.

If you are aware of any thoughts that keep you from reaching a peaceful mood,

Allow them to be expelled with your next breath out.

You are now creating a positive mind space to enjoy and relax within.

You may now think about something pleasant that helps your mind to escape.

It may be a beautiful meadow,

A forest,

A beach or something else.

Building up a picture,

Place yourself there.

What soft sights do you see?

What pleasing sounds do you hear?

Visualise it as vividly as you can with all of your senses.

As you experience a most tranquil place,

Be aware of how every muscle loosens as you enjoy every aspect of your chosen space.

There is no need to think about anything else,

Time matters not in this place.

You can be as carefree as you wish.

The words that can describe the scene that you see in your mind are delicate,

Soft and luxurious.

Where you are is a place that is sympathetic to your needs,

It is comfortable for your body and also soothing for your mind.

Now you begin to see slow moving swirls of pastel colour energy.

There are many of these swirls,

All equally distanced,

Leading far off out of sight.

As these gentle and magical swirls rotate,

You begin to float.

Feeling lighter and more relaxed,

Everything seems like it is in slow motion.

As you smoothly drift upwards,

Any movement is unhurried,

Easy and steady.

Your face muscles loosen immensely,

Your skin now feeling very soft from being in a most contented mind space.

Now weightless,

You float through the swirls of positive energy.

As you pass through each swirl,

Your body loosens immeasurably.

This slow paced space helps you to breathe deeper and longer breaths,

Drifting and floating,

Floating and drifting,

As you begin to be unaware of anything.

Now tuning out of awareness and into sleep,

You calmly transcend to your own resting state.

Your heartbeat is now much slower,

Being a slower paced pulse of sleepiness.

Any mind chatter has ceased as you concentrate solely on yourself.

Every muscle deeply relaxed,

Loosened by your peaceful free mind.

Drifting through each swirl of energy,

You become content with how you feel.

You are comfortable both physically and mentally.

Every aspect of what you experience is restful.

As you pass through the last of the swirls,

A dimly lit area with the most extravagant bed is revealed.

Your body now asleep,

It's now time to rest your inner mind,

Your subconscious.

Having found the place where you retreat to sleep,

Deep in your mind,

You sense all of it's wonderful healing properties.

As you gently float down onto a very splendid deep mattress,

You are in fact beginning to rest your inner self.

Not only does your body need the rest,

So too does your mind.

Allow your inner self to sink down into the opulent mattress that you see before you.

Sense a very soft sensation of comfort as you begin to take it even easier.

Everything can now into the plush mattress,

All of your worries and concerns are left behind.

Here you descend with a carefree attitude of falling asleep.

Your eyes are so so tired now,

And as you lie there,

Any inclination to move is disregarded.

Your eyes close once more,

Feeling heavy,

Sleepy and very soft.

Letting go further,

You feel the last of any tension leave your muscles,

As a looseness rolls down your body from head to toe.

Your face becomes easy as it droops into the mattress,

Your jaw unclenched and your neck releasing your shoulders more and more.

Perhaps your mouth opens slightly as you start to drift off into sleep.

Even the muscles behind your ears and the back of your head deflate.

As any tightness shrinks,

Your shoulders and shoulder blades slump with delight at the softness of this new found peacefulness.

Down you descend,

Drifting out of awareness on each and every breath,

Releasing the need to be alert in any way.

Now shifting deeper into a safe and cosy slumber,

Your chest unhindered and loosened completely.

The tops of your arms help the rest of your arms melt downwards,

Making your wrists limp to release the grasp of your hands,

Each finger now tentatively resting.

Continuing to gently shift into sleep,

Your abdomen assists the sides of your rib cage to expand with every sleepy breath.

That loosened sensation continues to roll down your hips and thighs,

Where they heavily sink deep into the soft surface of the bed.

Now almost completely asleep,

As you breathe out,

Your legs rest as if they are magnetically brought down into the mattress.

Each ankle now slowly turning each foot into a position of comfort,

And as your toes tingle with the warmth of tranquility,

You fall asleep.

Now as you relax further,

Past all swirls begin to slowly and silently rotate around you.

There is no sound to hear,

Just the sense of safety and comfort.

As the swirls rotate,

They begin to join,

Creating a positive and peaceful space for you to sleep and regather your thoughts.

Spending some cosy time feeling at one with yourself is all you need right now.

Your breathing deepens further,

You are now encapsulated in a cocoon of tranquility.

Nothing negative can enter your space,

Nor affect this pleasant state that you now find yourself in.

All of your positive energy is held within this immediate area.

There is no need to think if you don't want to,

And there is nothing to worry about.

Here you learn to become calm and still,

Not just in body but also in mind.

Every moment spent here,

You learn more about the real you and your true thoughts.

There is no mind chatter,

No over thinking,

No puzzle to solve,

Everything is simplified.

You may feel a slight and subtle movement within this cocoon state that only helps you to blissfully loosen more.

You may perhaps hear your own peaceful breathing,

Which reinforces the idea of letting go and resting without distraction.

Inside this cocoon,

You feel completely safe.

The essence of the true view brings a warmth to every part of your body.

As that warmth is recognised,

Each and every muscle sinks downwards.

Your awareness is focused solely on how beautifully relaxed and clear in mind that you are.

There are no pretenses,

This is not an illusion.

The calmness you sense is very real,

And you are the one that has made it happen.

You have it inside yourself to become present at any time you wish,

It's just a case of being mindful.

You are allowed to take moments for yourself without guilt or any obtrusive thoughts.

Being aware of how your mood is affected by a certain thought can be changed either through shifting it to a more pleasant one,

Or by acknowledging it and allowing it to pass.

It may take a little practice to achieve,

But with positive intentions and realising particular thoughts,

You can do it.

Your subconscious has a lot to do with what you think about,

And I'd like you to continue being calm and continue to rest as you are.

I'd like to now talk with your subconscious,

The place where perhaps mind chatter or worry is created.

I would like to tell you that everything is going to be ok,

There isn't a need to try and find an answer to everything.

You can bring awareness to situations or concerns,

And that is all that is needed.

You will no longer branch out into different directions,

To explore every possible outcome,

What is there can be resolved every time.

There is always an answer to something,

But I will say that it sometimes takes time to be revealed.

This is where calm patience will bring reassurance.

Most of the time,

Whatever we think about never happens.

We all have the ability inside ourselves to distance ourselves from our thoughts,

And that is what I would like you to do.

When you create space,

You begin to see the true perspective of things.

The next time a thought starts to take up your time and energy,

Remember that you can recognise it has been shown and allow it to slowly fade away.

The same goes for any associated anxious sensations that may be felt in your body,

You can breathe them out.

Opening your subconscious more,

It begins to deeply absorb and understand that calmness and perspective is needed.

Your subconscious now hears encouraging words to be more in harmony with you as one.

It will work with you and for you.

I am allowing my thoughts to flow,

And as I acknowledge them,

They pass.

I am no longer over thinking or spending too long on one thought.

I am enjoying the space from my thoughts.

I am taking my time to recognise the thoughts that matter.

I am calm at all times.

I am allowed to take as long as I wish to consider interacting with my mind.

I am not beholden to my thoughts.

I am observant of when my shoulders become tense,

And I can loosen them as and when I wish to do so.

I am finding positive sensations from being just an observer.

I am noticing every muscle in my body is relaxed,

And that my mind is clear at all times.

I am separate from my thoughts.

I am completely focused on positivity.

I am creating distance between myself and negativity.

I am looking after myself.

I am recognising how to create peace within my thoughts.

Any blockages of being able to relax are now clear.

You begin to sleep in tranquility within your soothing cocoon of peace.

As you drift off in mind and body,

Your body sinks deeper into the soft mattress,

And your mind is lighter with clarity.

Peace of mind is found in this calm moment.

Now as you start to deepen your relaxation and journey through into sleep,

Your cocoon floats gently upwards.

Gravity can be felt as you descend into a more peaceful slumber on your upwards ascent.

Travelling above where you first started,

You begin to metaphorically feel taller and more confident in this experience.

Journeying now through those dampened thoughts on the outside,

The ones that perhaps branched out when you heard them,

They now pass and fade away.

Each thought now in silence,

You are unaffected,

Blissfully unaware of them as you begin to sleep.

As you travel upwards,

Any light you may see through your closed eyelids becomes dim as thoughts are left behind.

Any sounds you hear within your cocoon fade out and any awareness you have decreases.

Resting now,

Quiet and calm,

Your mind continues to deepen your state of sleep.

In a moment,

You will hear words that will encourage your relaxed body and mind to let go more.

As you hear these words,

You release yourself further into a warm,

Safe and peaceful deep deep sleep.

I am allowing my mind and body to settle,

Finding a peaceful baseline as I begin to relax.

I am shifting any distractive thoughts away,

Dismissing them to create space.

I am feeling and sensing the atmosphere around me,

The temperature of the air,

The stillness.

I am aware that my breathing is slowing down,

Allowing my muscles to loosen.

I am exhaling any negative thoughts and instead inhaling positivity.

I am free to relax.

I am calm enough to relax.

I am calm enough to sleep.

I am at peace,

Even with the things I cannot change.

I am at one with everything in this moment.

I am feeling my mind settling.

I am observing my body sinking downwards with how relaxed I feel.

I am noticing my muscles becoming loose and cool.

I am in perspective of this moment.

I am shifting past the edge of awareness and into sleep.

I am in need of sleep and rest,

Knowing it will replenish me.

I am paying attention to my breathing as it calms me further.

I am beginning to let go of my day.

I am beginning to fall asleep to the peaceful silence.

I am being kind to myself by allowing the letting go of anything negative.

I am staying focused on this pleasant state that I find myself in.

I am observing how the night air stills my mind and calms my emotions.

I am in balance with my emotions.

I am now listening to the silence that lulls me to sleep.

I am beginning to feel restful.

I am experiencing a very sleepy sensation that makes my eyelids heavier.

I am starting to drift in and out of awareness as I relax more and more.

I am noticing how free I feel,

Not only in mind but in body.

I am feeling more space in my mind and around my body.

I am clear in mind and free of distractions.

I am drifting into a sleepier state as each second passes.

I am recognising that the more I let go,

The more I relax.

I am in full control of how much I relax.

I am letting go more to immerse myself deeply into sleep.

I am completely relaxed in every way.

I am no longer over thinking anything,

My mind is clear enough to sleep.

I am drifting further into a sleep filled state.

I am at peace with today and am now ready to drift further.

I am letting go more as I relax.

I am relaxed as can be,

So much so that my eyes prefer to stay closed.

I am breathing deeper and longer breaths on each cycle.

I am losing awareness as I calm my breathing.

I am hearing no sounds as I float off to sleep.

I am now crossing the boundary of awareness and into sleep.

As your mind and body begins to feel more relaxed,

Picture a large tree,

An oak,

Perhaps 150 years old,

Which is tall,

Strong and firmly attached to the ground.

Its trunk has deep furrows in its bark,

Which protect it from the weather,

And acorns perch on its long branches.

It's a warm summers night,

You can still feel a slight humidity in the air from the sun that has sat.

Stars litter the dark blue sky,

Some in clusters and some dotted in various spaces.

You can see everything as the moon emits a warm glow,

Lighting up the land near and far.

The soft short grasses cool beneath your feet,

Helping your body to loosen a little as you explore your immediate area.

Around the oak,

You can see other trees.

A weeping willow leans effortlessly as its leaves rustle from the warm night breeze.

You see a sycamore,

Perhaps the same age as the oak standing proud.

Its winged fruits dangle downwards,

Some littering the ground beneath.

Looking out across the field,

You observe a quiet picturesque scene of valleys,

And behind,

A beach.

You notice the shimmer of the gentle waves from the moons glow as the ocean tide recurrently laps onto the sand.

Walking back around to the oak tree,

You see a ladder leading upwards.

Following it with your eyes,

A tree house is revealed.

This is a natural tree house,

Formed when the oak tree grew.

At the base of the tree are some blankets and a few puffy pillows.

Picking up a blanket and a couple of pillows,

You climb the ladder up to the tree house.

As you raise each foot onto each rung of the ladder,

You begin to see more of the wonderful countryside.

Now reaching the top,

You clamber in through an open hatch.

Standing up,

You feel that the structure is solid,

More so than if it were made by hand.

Inside of this room,

Up above the countryside,

You sense a peacefulness and warmth.

Peering outside,

You look down and see that you are quite high up.

The air seems fresher too.

Now above where you were,

You see an island just off the coast,

The waves glimmering more than before.

The beam of a lighthouse slowly rotates,

And the air is almost seemingly misty.

There are no clouds in the night sky to be seen,

Only stars dotted here and there.

As you observe the peacefulness of this moment,

The light of the moon makes almost everything visible and still.

All is quiet,

The only sound you hear are the dangling leaves from the willow tree.

There is much more to see here,

But your mind drifts with the contentedness of just being.

As you look upon the valleys that roll off far and wide,

Your mind begins to settle,

Sensing every positive aspect of everything around.

Here in nature,

There is nothing more pure,

Nothing more relaxing,

Than being present.

Being present is about disregarding any concerns or worries so that you can concentrate on the now.

Begin to let go of things that need not be there in your mind.

Without changing the way that you breathe,

Feel the positivity of this moment.

Smell the sweet scent of the grass,

The oceanic air,

The trees,

Flowers and anything else that perhaps you observe.

As you build up a sensation of freedom,

Relaxation and peacefulness,

Begin to look inwards.

Allow your heart beat to slow down as you continue to take in the stunning scenery.

Give yourself permission to relax every muscle in your body.

If any mind chatter distracts you,

Bring yourself back to your breath.

Listening to each inhalation and exhalation can calm your mind and body down.

As you breathe in,

Feel all of your senses fill with the beauty of what surrounds you.

Breathing out,

You expel anything that is not needed.

You also expel tension from your muscles and any chatter from your mind.

Like the night air that you breathe,

You are cool,

Calm and very still.

Touching the bark on the inside of the treehouse,

You feel its positive energy,

Like a tingle or a vibration.

Between you and the oak,

There is an understanding or knowing that sharing each others company is beneficial.

It's a scientific fact that trees can communicate.

And where you are,

There are many trees.

Beside the oak tree,

The weeping willow and the sycamore create an aura of peacefulness and calmness.

Underneath the ground,

The trees use a fungal network to communicate with each other,

Protecting and sending information.

They are connected to the fungi with their roots.

Here in this moment,

They are communicating peace and tranquility with you.

The trees are relaxed and calm,

And as you touch the bark inside the treehouse,

You feel this blissful state.

You sense that the trees know you are there and that they are sending their positive energy for you to relax tonight.

The energy you receive is felt with your senses.

With your hand placed on the bark,

You feel warmth,

The kind of warmth of protection,

Respect and kindness.

With your eyes,

You observe stillness,

Nothing seems to move,

Which helps any mind chatter to lower in volume.

With your ears,

You hear nothing but a silent peacefulness,

Everything seems much slower now.

And with your nose,

You smell calmness from all the sweet scents of nature.

As you channel the communication,

The oak begins to draw out any negative thinking from your mind.

You may sense a pulling effect in your fingers as the rest of your body becomes more loose.

Beginning to relax,

You sense the muscles in your shoulders and neck drifting downwards,

Sliding down your back.

As your back untightens,

Your chest relaxes intensely.

You feel the tension working its way out of your body,

Down through your arms,

Your wrists and out through your fingers.

Your top half now free of tightness.

You observe your toes splaying as they release,

The tense energy now releasing up through your feet and your core and legs,

Up to your hips and your abdomen.

As before,

The last of any tension drifts up like a wave through your chest,

Through your chest,

Shoulders,

Arms,

Wrists,

Hands and finally out of your fingers.

Your whole body now tingling with a freedom of relaxation.

That tense energy is sent down deep into the ground,

Dispersed into strengthening the roots of the trees.

Good has come to you and the trees,

You have helped each other in this moment.

After releasing this energy,

You begin to feel quite tired.

Making up your bed,

You position your blanket and pillows.

Taking one last look out the window before getting into bed,

The still atmosphere makes you feel safe.

Lavender flowers beneath the oak tree waft the scent of sleep towards your nose.

Your mind becomes so clear and calm that all you want to do is get into bed.

Your eyelids now beginning to feel very heavy.

You lie down with your head on your pillow and pull over the blanket.

You are already very relaxed and as your body starts to settle,

You relax much more.

The first area to feel relief is your back and lower back,

Where a comfortable ache disperses any last remaining tension.

As your head sinks into the pillow,

The muscles behind your ears and your neck unwind,

Helping you to let go a little easier.

All is quiet and only the outlines of everything can be seen.

The tops of your arms and shoulders descend downwards as you breathe in the calming scent from the lavender.

With your eyelids becoming increasingly heavier,

You breathe sleepier breaths that become longer and deeper the more you let go.

Any remaining tightness in your chest and abdomen now disperses,

Making you feel ever more comfortable.

Beginning to fall asleep,

You still sense the positive energy of this tranquil space,

A soft surrounding of natural calmness.

Letting go more,

Your hips sink down,

Making your legs heavier.

You are warm,

Safe and at peace.

Starting to drift off into sleep,

Your feet and toes loosen greatly,

Every breath now bringing a blissful and timeless state to your mind and body.

As your awareness fades and your eyelids become heavier,

Your arms droop down as the muscles detach,

Any need to hold on.

Letting go more,

Your wrists,

Hands and fingers become limp.

Now as you listen to your breathing settling down automatically,

Each breath sends you closer to sleep.

There is no need to hold on to your awareness anymore,

You can release yourself asleep to rest comfortably for the night.

Breathing calmly,

Breathing steadily,

You fall asleep.

Now as your consciousness shifts into a higher state,

You hear encouraging words from nature as you become one with yourself and all around.

Allow your mind to settle deeply into a still state where only positive thoughts are observed.

You have trust that you will have the best night's sleep.

The more you let go,

The more you relax,

Which means your sleep quality will be improved.

Feel your body becoming heavier as you concentrate on the sound of your breathing.

You are safe and comfortable,

Delve deeper into this feeling.

Tell your mind it's time to sleep,

To switch off and rest without distractive chatter.

There is no need to explore your thoughts in this moment,

Your focus is completely on falling asleep.

Your eyelids get heavier with each natural outward breath.

It's ok to take a break and to unwind.

The scent of the lavender soothes every muscle,

Your whole body loosening greatly and becoming restful.

You appreciate every longer breath,

The quiet in your mind and how relaxed your body is.

You are good at clearing away things that clutter your mind.

The mindful observation of your own thoughts keeps you grounded.

If your mind becomes cluttered with mind chatter,

Allow it to be released by lowering your shoulders.

As you notice each breath becoming deeper and longer,

Your body loosens much more.

Through observing your thoughts and not interacting with them,

You gain insight.

Your body is relaxing deeply as you regain your headspace.

Many thoughts of being able to relax fully are now clear.

You begin to sleep in tranquility within this peaceful tree house.

Drifting off in mind and body,

Your body sinks deeper as it descends and your mind is now empty of distractions.

Peace is found in this calm moment.

As you start to deepen your relaxation and float through into sleep,

Your eyelids stay closed from being so heavy.

The sense of being completely safe and comfortable brings a reassuring warmth.

You hear no sound now as your awareness decreases with each and every breath.

Everything quiet and calm,

Your mind drifting deeper into the state of sleep.

Imagine now that you are waking up from a dream,

You are watching a thunderstorm under the cover of a pitched tent at the edge of a forest.

It's summertime,

It's warm and quite late,

It's dusk and all the birds are now quietly settling down in their nests.

The sky is overcast with plump grey clouds.

The tent is large enough for all of your needs,

There is an awning that extends out from where you sit on a comfortable folding chair.

You are located in a camping field where other tents can be seen,

And as it gets darker,

You see their lights creating shadows on the material.

You can hear the occasional clatter of pots and pans,

Mumbles of conversations and a squelch of footsteps.

I'd like you to feel safe as you immerse yourself deeply in the atmosphere of this meditation as if you were there.

A scent of flavoursome food fills the air from your gas lit cooker.

You can see the steam rising gently,

Which fluctuates how strong the aroma is when it reaches your nose.

You watch as your favourite food reaches perfection.

Taking a sip of refreshingly cool water,

The liquid flows down,

You are relaxed by the wave of relief that follows.

Gazing into a slow burning campfire not so far away,

Only two logs remain.

The woody scent makes you feel at home and rather grounded.

The smoke from the fire drifts upwards towards the similar grey of the clouds.

Flames barely peek from the charcoal brittle logs that remain.

Your shoulders and the tops of your arms descend,

Which encourages the rest of your body to loosen.

You have time to think,

To ponder over things with clearness if you wish,

Or you can just enjoy this very calm experience.

The wind picks up very slightly as you see the branches of a green forest waver in the subtle breeze.

The tall trees sway to the rhythm of the wind all the while,

Calm at the same time.

It feels good to observe things around you,

Without distraction,

Just being an observer.

Seeing that your meal is now ready,

You turn off your cooker and plate up your food.

Now eating a most delicious and tasty snack,

You notice a deer slowly walk out from the fringe of the forest.

Its antlers grand and magnificent,

Its posture royal.

The deer leans down and grazes slowly on the long grass.

It feels safe and shows the fact by not looking around.

You can see the deer calmly eating,

Its mouth moving in a circular motion.

As the deer decides it's had enough to eat,

It raises its head and looks you in the eye.

You feel the deer's reassured demeanour.

Turning slowly around,

The deer heads to the edge back under the cover of the forest from the approaching storm.

Mesmerised,

You watch it disappear from sight.

It's as if it were a sign for you that it's ok to relax.

Your mind begins to feel free,

You are awash with calmness.

The sky now very dark,

The air a little cooler.

You take a sip of your cool water and observe the slow moving clouds.

Everything seems much slower and peaceful now.

Lightning streaks across the darkened sky in a sideways direction with an aura that can be seen within the clouds.

As the storm gets closer,

The wind fades and only silence can be heard.

You feel completely grounded in this moment.

Taking another sip of your drink,

You begin to watch the storm.

The ground vibrates as thunder cracks and thuts through the air.

You hear the first raindrops on your tent,

A slow and rhythmic pitter patter.

Even though you are safely dry under your tent,

You get the sense of the raindrops on your body.

You are now feeling the moment,

By being present.

As the rain continues to become heavier,

It feels like you are being cleansed into a very relaxed state.

Every muscle loosens immensely as you release and let go of any tension in your body,

Melting into a very very relaxed state.

As your concerns are washed away with the soothing sound of the rain,

Your mind becomes clear with relief.

You now realise that there is no need to think,

You can just be in this moment.

Relaxation comes in the form of your own stillness,

Inside and out.

Glancing over to the logs that once glowed,

Steam begins to rise as they are cooled by the drops of rain which sizzle and evaporate almost immediately on impact.

The scent of earthy smells linger calmly in the fresh air,

Loosening your shoulders and chest further as you now breathe deeply satisfying natural breaths.

As the rain becomes a little heavier,

You hear the sound of sips on other tents around you as the other campers turn in for the night.

You are more than happy to watch the storm for a while,

You find it fascinating,

Calming and very cleansing.

Achieving clearness in thought,

You silently tell yourself things that will encourage you to relax more.

The more I become present,

The more I am in touch with myself.

My mind is calm and clear by choice.

I can reach this state of mind whenever I choose.

Taking some time for myself can bring very positive results in a very short amount of time.

I am being kind to myself and will continue to do so.

I will remember how relaxed I feel in this moment.

Next time,

I will relax even more.

I feel like there is space to think for myself,

Which tells me that when I clear my mind,

I feel better.

Being present is good for me.

When I feel at peace like this,

Distractions do not disturb me.

I can choose where to focus my energy and it will always be on positive things.

I see myself becoming a master of my own peace as I practice more.

I have control over where I place my focus.

At bedtime,

I am able to settle and relax deeply.

I leave my concerns behind when I need some me time.

Before I get into bed,

I leave my day behind.

I am aware that dwelling on things leads to over thinking.

I am comfortable to just observe my thoughts.

Through observing my thoughts and not interacting with them,

I gain insight.

My body is relaxing deeply as I regain my headspace.

I am good at clearing away things that clutter my mind.

Being aware of any tension in my shoulders,

I can allow them to descend when I wish to.

The mindful observation of my own thoughts keeps me grounded.

If my mind becomes cluttered with mind chatter,

I allow it to be released by lowering my shoulders.

As I notice each breath becoming deeper and longer,

I loosen up much more.

Seeming to watch the lightning glow through the clouds,

You need nothing else.

As the streaks of lightning illuminates,

You see the silhouette of the forest,

Boldly dark against the purple night sky.

The logs that were once orange and red are now cool and charred.

You hear no other movement from any of the other tents,

So you take a moment completely to yourself.

Feeling a much deserved relief and a welcomed loosened state,

You decide to go to bed.

Folding your chair away and tidying up,

You walk into your tent with a flashlight.

Zipping the entrance closed,

The tapping of the rain on the material now creates a soothing sound.

To have the best night's sleep,

You change into some looser fitting clothes.

Inside the tent is warm,

You feel no cold and you have a most comfortable bed to lie upon.

The mattress of your bed may be thin but it is very comfortable and you have enough sheets to keep you warm.

Pulling back the sheets,

You climb inside,

Adjusting your plush pillow to a desired position.

Lying down,

You rest your back and lean your head gently into the pillow.

You can hear all the sounds of the storm from inside your tent.

You even see the purple and blue glows of lightning that show through the material.

Listening to the sound of the rain on the ground and on the canvas,

Your mind begins to drift.

The pitter patter sound soothes your mind into a more silent offering.

Within no time,

Your body begins to relax deeply and begins descending heavily into your bed.

Every breath now deeper and longer than before,

Your chest easily accommodating each inhalation.

As you breathe out,

You relax more and more.

As the thunder sends its sound waves across the air,

You feel the rumbles in the ground below but accept them as a massaging effect.

There is an anticipation after each clap of thunder as to if and when there will be another.

In your mind,

You try to guess how long it will be until the next one.

In between the sound of thunder,

You sense your mind settling down into those quieter moments.

As you observe your body,

You sense every part loosening and beginning to feel very heavy.

The whole atmosphere creates a balance of peace and stillness as you slowly begin to drift off.

You occasionally smell the smouldering campfire.

Its earthy flavour creates warmth to everything you feel.

It continues to rain and the sound of the raindrops start to dampen out as you start to fall asleep.

Your head descends without resistance into your deep pillow and the rest of your body follows.

Each moment is more peaceful than the last.

You now hear positive encouragement from your mind and body as you relax further.

My body is settling down,

Descending into a peaceful sleep.

I will sleep the most restful night's sleep yet.

I will create balance within as I rest.

I exhale negativity on every outward breath.

My mind strength grows as I breathe in positivity.

I now feel a reassurance of calmness as my body loosens even more.

I let go of any thoughts that keep me from sleeping.

The only thing I need right now is rest for my mind and rest for my body.

As I let go more,

My body descends lower and relaxes more.

I know I can relax further each time I notice how loose my muscles have become.

As my thoughts fade away,

I think about something or somewhere positive to escape.

My mind is only taken up with distractions that I create.

I can hear the thunderstorm passing as I fall asleep.

Just like the storm that has passed,

So too have any negative thoughts.

Any anxious sensations are now gone.

I realise that my mind works better without clutter.

I am clearing my mind.

The more I let go,

The more I fall asleep.

As I rest peacefully,

My eyes close tighter and heavier.

I realise that it is safe to close my eyes and go to sleep.

I can sleep all through the night.

I notice muscles that may not be completely relaxed,

So I adjust them.

As I release my day,

My face softens and droops down into the pillow.

I am comfortable,

Safe and feeling very much at peace.

I am noticing that I am feeling very sleepy as my mind becomes clearer and clearer.

Being quite happy to rest deeply,

I allow my awareness to gently fade out.

I hear no sounds from the outside world.

Everything is so so quiet now,

I could fall asleep quite easily.

The only thing I sense now is the feeling of drifting off.

My body becomes heavier and heavier,

My mind becomes quieter and quieter.

As I slowly shift into sleep,

I let go even more.

No matter how relaxed I feel in this moment,

I know I can relax even deeper.

With every rumble of thunder,

My muscles are loosened further.

My head rests heavily on my pillow and as it descends,

A wave of wonderful calming sensations are sent down my whole body.

Your awareness diminishes and sleep becomes your only direction.

Breathing comfortably and peacefully,

Every breath out releases you into a slumber state.

Your eyelids are now heavily drawn down,

Your cheeks loose and your jaw widened as every soft sensation lulls you to sleep.

As your whole face relaxes,

You rest your head more,

Which releases the muscles in your neck.

Like a chain reaction,

The tops of your arms,

Shoulders and back gravitate downwards,

Heavy,

Still and impless.

Both arms now limply sliding towards the soft surface as each wrist,

Hand and finger expels out any tension.

That wave of restfulness brings your hips,

Thighs and legs to use the comfort of the mattress to its fullest capacity.

Each leg,

Ankle and foot finding their way now to rest.

As your toes splay to a softened version of sleep,

Sleep is all you need.

Calm,

Still,

Clear in mind and comfortable in body,

You drift off into a deep and restful sleep.

You are finding your own peace,

The more you relax,

The more you are in touch with yourself.

Your mind is calm and clear by choice,

You can reach this state of mind whenever you choose to.

You are being kind to yourself and will continue to do so.

You will remember how relaxed you feel in this moment,

Next time you will relax even more.

You feel like there is space to think for yourself,

Which tells you that when you clear your mind,

You feel better.

When you feel at peace like this,

Distractions do not disturb you.

You can choose where to focus your energy and it will always be on positive things.

You see yourself becoming a master of your own peace as you practice more.

There is no need to think all the time,

Stillness brings you all the comfort that you need.

You have control over where you place your focus.

At bedtime,

You are able to settle and relax deeply.

You leave your concerns behind when you need some me time.

Before you get into bed,

You leave your day behind.

You are aware that dwelling on things leads to overthinking.

You no longer dwell or overthink things.

You are comfortable to just observe your thoughts.

You are allowing your mind and body to settle,

Finding a peaceful baseline as you begin to relax.

You are shifting any distractive thoughts away,

Dismissing them to create space.

You are feeling and sensing the atmosphere around you,

The temperature of the air and the stillness.

You are aware that your breathing is slowing down,

Allowing your muscles to loosen.

You are exhaling any negative thoughts and are inhaling positivity.

You are focused on the middle area above your eyes,

Through doing so you become more calm.

You are sensing that your eyes are softening as your face begins to release any tightness.

You are beginning to breathe deeper and longer breaths,

Through concentrating solely on yourself.

You are allowed to take time for yourself,

You deserve some space of relief.

You are gathering your positivity as you relax more and more.

You are unaffected by any distractions or even your own thoughts.

You are unaware of time at this moment.

Nothing else matters except yourself.

You are experiencing a deeper and peaceful state of self awareness as you relax more.

You are feeling your shoulders descend downwards,

As any weight of today is lifted.

You are clear of mind chatter and clutter as you simplify your thoughts.

You are completely still with a tranquil observation of your thoughts,

Emotions and feelings.

You are non-reactive with your mind,

But you are aware of any concerns that are quieter than before.

You are sensing your heart beat slowing down as you become more present.

You are noticing any tension in your body being released as you trust in this moment.

You are needful of nothing except for peace as you delve deeper into calmness.

You are receiving positive sensations as your body loosens further.

You are letting go of any unwanted tense energy by releasing it as you loosen your muscles.

You are an observer,

Only watching your thoughts and seeing your body relax more.

You are indifferent to any thoughts that try to dissuade you from being allowed this peaceful state.

You are feeling your mood and mind lift from being kind to yourself.

You are allowing your shoulders to slide down your back as you let go of your day.

You are feeling safe with the relaxation that you feel.

You are becoming more comfortable the more you accept this pleasant experience.

You are loosening your body and clearing your mind with each wonderful exhalation.

You are giving your mind all the space it needs to rejuvenate.

You are sure that what you are experiencing is having a positive effect on you.

You are filling with gratitude from the calmness that you feel.

You are aware that this break from thinking is needed.

You are leaving today behind and only taking what served you positively into tomorrow.

You are becoming clearer in mind.

You are relaxing now without hesitation.

You are good at clearing your mind.

You are incredibly calm,

Relaxed and at peace.

You are noticing that any tense warm muscles are now cooler.

You are feeling your body descend further into a state of just being.

You are inspiring deep long breaths that take you further into tranquility.

You are resting without any concerns.

You are discovering new and gentle sensations of peace.

You are calm,

Still and relaxed as can be.

You are noticing that your bed is becoming softer and more comfortable.

You are feeling the flow of your own positive energy within.

You are reaching a state of bliss as a sensation of inner warmth is felt.

You are beginning to sense self love.

You are elevating your mind to positivity and peacefulness.

You are unaware of any distractions.

You are completely in control of how you feel.

You are allowing your body to descend as it loosens.

You are loosening every muscle as you become more comfortable and clear minded.

You are unrestricted in how relaxed you can now be.

You are allowing your flow of positive energy to gently build up.

You are warm,

Safe and very calm.

You are sensing your back expand as your muscles release.

You are automatically breathing longer breaths as your mind helps your body to let go.

You are noticing your chest has more freedom of movement.

You are receiving peace in every way.

You are not thinking about anything in particular.

You are now floating downwards towards the rest that you need.

You are mindful that you need sleep and to have the best sleep you let go of every concern.

You are letting go of anything that may be keeping you from sleeping.

You are feeling the last of any resistance fading away.

You are going to sleep well tonight.

You are going to have the best night's sleep.

You are more than comfortable to relax as much as you desire.

You are closing your eyes.

You are feeling your face soften and begin to droop as you start to fall asleep.

You are falling asleep.

You are beginning to drift off.

You are clear in mind.

You are noticing that your arms are becoming heavy as your mind wanders deeper.

You are unaware of any outside sounds as you begin to fall asleep.

You are sensing a stillness in your abdomen and a relief in your back as it softens.

You are becoming heavier and heavier.

You are feeling grounded as your hips and thighs weigh down into your bed.

You are automatically breathing your way to a deep,

Deep sleep.

You are floating down further into sleep as your legs slowly lower.

You are noticing your ankles and feet are floating down with you.

You are now allowing your subconscious to encourage you to sleep.

You are resting safely,

Comfortably and very peacefully.

Your body becomes heavier with relaxation and your mind now floats through into a settled state.

You drift off further into a deep,

Deep sleep.

There is no need to be aware of anything in this moment,

You can completely let go.

Your eyelids are heavily closed,

Your body is relaxed and your mind is now clear as you drift into your best nights sleep.

You are now letting go.

You are now letting go.

You are now letting go.

You are now letting go.

You are now letting go.

You are now letting go.

You are now letting go.

You are now letting go.

You are now letting go.

You are now letting go.

You are now letting go.
