Welcome to this meditation of words.
For this practice you're going to need a piece of paper and a pen.
So just take your time to prepare these now.
And we're going to begin in a seated position.
Closing our eyes.
Just beginning to connect with our breath.
Breathing consciously.
The breath flowing in and out through the nose.
And as we inhale,
We're just going to feel that gentle lift.
That sensation of lifting that's produced in the body and the mechanics of breathing.
And as we exhale,
That feeling of kind of dropping.
So we're just connecting to these two sensations,
This uplift and this downward motion.
As we inhale and exhale.
Allow your belly and stomach to be relaxed as you breathe.
Re-initiating the breath from this lower chamber.
And just noticing the mind now,
Noticing if any thoughts are coming.
Noticing if any distractions come up.
And just allow yourself to kind of notice these throughout the practice.
Just see them for what they are and you just kind of return back.
And just notice that you're coming back.
And just notice that you're coming back.
Just see them for what they are and you just kind of return back.
Just come back into your process.
Feeling that sensation of uplift.
And then that kind of downward and release motion.
And we're now going to,
Keeping our eyes closed,
Begin to visualize creativity.
Begin to visualize what it feels like when we are creating,
When we are flowing.
When we have access to the most relevant strategy to our everyday sensation and actions.
So perhaps you want to visualize a time when you are feeling creative in the past and bring this into your awareness now.
Or just kind of visualize a state of flow,
Of connectivity,
Of confidence.
And I invite you to kind of almost look at yourself from the outside so you can see yourself creating.
You can see yourself doing whatever you're doing with people,
Drawing,
Programming,
Whatever it may be.
You can kind of watch yourself from the outside witnessing.
And as you now observe this whole state,
I invite you to feel into what word you might associate with this state.
One word.
Taking your time and just trusting whatever word comes to you.
And once you have your word,
Gently opening your eyes with awareness,
Taking your pen and just write this word down on the paper.
Taking a moment to just look at the word now.
Just looking at it.
Closing the eyes.
And now tapping into what this word means to you,
What you might associate with this word.
And it may not be anything rational,
It may just be like a feeling within your body that is born.
And you just allow for that to come up.
So visualizing your word and allowing for your body to generate a state or a quality in your experience.
Taking a deep inhalation and exhale.
Bringing your mind back to neutral.
And once again,
As you contemplate creativity,
As you contemplate your process of creation,
Again,
The next word that comes to you right now.
Just trust when you have it.
Gently open your eyes.
Write it down.
Take a moment just to look at it.
And as you look at it,
Allow whatever sensation needs to arise to just kind of come up.
Closing the eyes.
Using your exhalation now,
Using that downward motion and that release to really let go into the feeling.
Let go into the atmosphere of this word.
You can almost imagine you fall back into it.
Taking a slightly deeper inhalation and exhale everything out.
Bringing your mind back to neutral.
Visualizing creativity.
Your state of optimal creation.
And again,
Allowing the next word to just come through.
When you have it,
Opening your eyes,
Allowing it to flow onto the piece of paper.
Just trust whatever comes.
Reflecting on this word.
And closing your eyes once again.
And you can kind of let go of all the ideas of all the words and you can just connect to everything that this task.
And what all three words,
What everything is kind of giving to your body right now.
So we're letting go of the specifics and we're just opening into that whole picture,
Into the creative frontier.
Allowing your body to become one with it.
Allowing yourself to totally trust and surrender the innate creativity within you.
Taking a slightly deeper inhalation.
And exhaling everything out through the mouth.
Just allowing everything to settle now.
Bringing your mind back to neutral.
Connecting with your body once again.
Perceiving the temperature of the space around you.
And as a final reflection just acknowledging this great creative power,
This access to your innate creativity.
And feeling that you can bring this,
You can reference this state of being at any moment in your day ahead.
