We take our first breath and we take our last breath.
What happens between these breaths is freedom.
Freedom to choose,
Freedom to take actions.
Actions that will be enjoyed and freedom to make memories and impact others.
Your breaths are yours.
This message is for those who are not comfortable being alone.
May you find and appreciate the essence of yourself.
How do you feel about truly being alone?
Do you keep your schedule busy to avoid it?
Do you fear the emotions that may surface when you are alone?
Is there a sense of feeling uncomfortable as you strive to share time with others?
Does sadness or anxious feelings rise when you have an open schedule?
Or have you practiced and are able to appreciate being alone and treasuring your solitude?
Are you confident being alone as your intuition confirms that this time will bring you closer to your soul?
Experiencing solitude is having a deep understanding of yourself and the true essence of who you are.
Solitude can bring you to a place of liking and loving yourself.
So what are the feelings that are present when you are within your own home with your family?
On a crowded street?
At a sporting event?
Or when you are shoulder to shoulder in an elevator?
What are the feelings that make you feel lonely?
Being surrounded by people and still feeling lonely.
So ponder the root of this.
Were you taught to be comfortable with yourself?
As a child,
Were you left by yourself or were you dependent on friends for carefree play?
In your teens,
Was there nonstop socializing?
Did life lead you to a relationship with a partner?
Followed by work,
Where you interacted with coworkers and established a life within a community and neighbors?
What sets in?
Expectations and many of them.
Fear appears when you are not where you think you should be or feel that you ought to be.
Doing what you think you should be doing.
The expectations of others.
And over time we become dependent.
It happens naturally,
Without awareness,
And we become attached to others.
So when attachment is present,
Fear is present.
Fear of loss,
Isolation,
Separation.
Followed by an insecurity and a difficulty of being truly alone.
Solitude is the path towards wisdom.
Practicing solitude is essential and it's important to be accepting and willing to be open to fostering the desire to let go of the attachments.
So let's practice.
Take a deep breath and close your eyes.
Lay down or sit tall with your feet on the floor.
Repeat this statement to yourself.
May I have ease of mind.
May I have ease of mind.
Visualize peace.
Visualize your freedom.
Be comfortable of being right here by yourself.
There are no expectations.
There are no have to's.
Just moments of being.
You have optimism for the future.
You have a complete sense of tranquility.
May you have ease of mind.
You are alone.
You are safe.
This experience is worth it.
The reward is yourself.
The reward of learning to appreciate the essence of you.
Who you truly are.
What truly matters to you.
Releasing dependency on others.
So breathe and just be.
Take a few deep long breaths.
Breathing in through your nose.
Bringing it all the way down to your belly.
And then exhaling longer.
Every ounce of air.
And repeat that.
You have ease of mind.
Slowly open your eyes.
Draw a slight smile on your beautiful face.
You have solitude.
You are never alone.
You have yourself.
