Join me today as we go through a guided meditation to wind down the mind and the body for sleep. Our practice today will be accompanied by a singing bowl, to help both aid the calming process and enhance the visualisation elements of the practice itself. I hope you will enjoy our session today, and be able to get a great night's sleep!

So hi there,

Welcome to the session this evening.

So today we're just gonna get ready for sleep,

Wind down,

Relax,

Ready to go to sleep,

Just with the sound of a deep singing bowl.

So once you've found somewhere comfortable to sit,

Maybe on the bed,

Maybe in a chair,

Preferably just in an upright position,

With the feet flat on the floor,

We'll just start by taking some big deep breaths.

So just starting to deepen the breath,

Breathing in through the nose,

Out through the mouth,

Feeling the air reaching down to the bottom of the lungs,

And then when you're ready,

Just closing the eyes with the out-breath,

Maintaining that seated posture,

Not falling asleep just yet,

And just beginning to allow the body to relax.

Feeling the buzz,

The busyness of the day just dissolving away,

And the body in turn just relaxing,

Feeling a warmth coming into the body,

A gratifying energy.

The day is done,

Feeling responsibilities dissolving,

Shoulds and oughts and have-dones and will-do's dissolving,

They don't serve you anymore,

Let go of them,

They'll come back if they're needed,

But that's not now,

So just letting go,

A gratifying energy for having done the day.

As the body begins to relax and hopefully you're beginning to feel a bit more sleepy now,

Just feeling that warm welcoming energy,

Just feeling that sinking of the body and of the mind towards sleep,

Discarding that busyness and buzz of the day,

Allowing it to dissolve,

To just lift away,

As you feel that love and that warmth,

That gentleness building in the chest,

In the legs,

In the arms,

In the head and the shoulders,

As you drift towards sleep.

And then when you're ready,

Just opening the eyes,

Maybe casting a gentle awareness again,

Just over the surroundings,

Just over the space around you,

Before doing anything else you'd like to do,

Before heading off to bed.

And I hope that this session has been useful this evening,

And I hope that you have a really good sleep,

And can wake up tomorrow feeling revitalized,

Refreshed and rejuvenated.

Thanks for joining me this evening,

And I hope you sleep really well.

Bye bye.
