Today we will do a brief session, just taking some time out from the day to breathe and make space for some calm. It will be a simple session, but one that I think can be very handy in life. Whether you're having one of those busy and frantic days when you just need a moment's time out, or would just like a little relaxation in your day, I hope this session can help you find that space that you're looking for.

So hi there,

Welcome to the session today.

So today we're just going to do some deep breathing for calmness.

So let's just start straight away,

Let's get straight into it with the eyes open,

Just in a comfortable seated position,

Just becoming aware of your surroundings,

Keeping the normal rhythm of the breath and just starting to deepen the breath.

The eyes still open,

Just deep breath in through the nose,

Followed by deep breath out through the mouth.

And just doing this a few times.

Just keeping a soft focus on the space around you,

Letting sounds come and go,

Sights come and go,

Maybe there's an insect flying around,

Maybe there's something outside the window happening,

Maybe you can hear an aircraft going over or people talking out in the street.

And really feeling the depth of the breath as you continue to breathe like this.

Just simply the breath by itself.

Feeling the lungs expanding right to the bottom as you breathe in,

And feeling them emptying out again as you breathe out.

And as you do this,

You don't have to,

But if you like,

You can just close the eyes gently,

Continuing to breathe in this way.

Feeling calm and warmth and light coming in with the in-breath and old,

Used energy going out with the out-breath.

Empties you've finished with now that serve you no more.

Just letting them go,

Discarding them back to the universe.

Whether your eyes are open or closed at this stage,

Just continuing to breathe in this way.

Feeling the movement of the chest,

Feeling that revitalising energy that comes with the breath as it draws in the air,

Brings nourishment to your cells,

To your body.

And as you breathe out,

Let go what you are finished with.

And then just feel free to stay here doing this for as long as you need.

And I hope this has been useful session today.

Just a brief little session to just take a moment to breathe,

To just find some calm in your day.

So thanks for joining me today,

And I hope to see you next time.

Bye-bye.
