Thank you for joining me on this thought awareness meditation.
Find a comfortable seated posture where you can remain in stillness for the entirety of this meditation.
The purpose of yoga is to still the mind.
Before we can still the mind,
We must understand it.
And before we can begin to understand it,
We must become aware of it.
Bring your attention to your mind now.
We all have a running narrative,
A constant stream of thoughts continuously occurring.
Just become aware of these thoughts in your mind right now.
What are they saying?
As we begin to focus on the thoughts in our mind,
It can be easy to start thinking about the fact that we are thinking about our thoughts.
Allow all of these thoughts,
Sensations,
And layered experiences to arise.
Don't judge these experiences,
Simply observe them.
Continue to stay in a state of observation.
Remain in a state of observation,
Simply watching what the mind is doing,
Observing all the thoughts,
Refraining from judgment,
Refraining from manipulating the thoughts.
Sit in stillness and simply observe.
Remain in this practice for the next few minutes until I bring you out.
Bring yourself back into this present state of awareness.
Allowing the thought observation experiment to subside.
I invite you to return to this meditation as needed in order to continue practicing observing the thoughts.
I invite you to pause throughout your day today to try observing the thoughts,
Just watching them go by.
No judgment,
No changing them,
Just observation.
