Hello,
And welcome to this meditation for releasing control.
Control is something that most people struggle with at one point or another in their lives,
Ensuring that busy schedules are kept,
Checklists are completed,
And that everyone around us is happy at all times.
Search yourself for a moment.
Do any of these scenarios describe you at any time?
Are you worried about your calendar?
Are you overly concerned about your never-ending checklists?
Are you trying to manage the lives of everyone around you?
Just take a moment to see where you are trying to grasp and be in control.
Take note of any other ways that you attempt to get to the point where you are trying to be in control.
Let's explore these areas of control.
How does this make you feel trying to control everything?
Do you feel exonerated?
Do you feel accomplished?
Do you feel appreciated?
Or do you actually feel tired,
More stressed out,
And anxious?
Perhaps these things that you are trying to control do not turn out the way that you want them to.
This can lead to resentment and anxiety,
All because we are trying to control things we cannot control.
So in order to begin releasing control,
We must first become aware that we actually control variable.
You can keep up with your calendar,
But someone else may cancel plans with you.
You may check off the to-do list,
But there will be more to add to it tomorrow.
We try to control our relationships with others,
But they have their own free will.
Take a few more moments to recognize what in your life you are trying to control,
But you have no power over.
Hold these thoughts in the front of your mind,
These things that you are trying to control that you cannot.
Now bring your hands to rest atop your solar plexus,
Your power center chakra right above the navel.
Begin to breathe into this space and begin to recognize this.
I can only control myself,
My thoughts,
My action,
My reaction.
I release control over anything that is not mine to control.
Let's repeat this two more times together,
Continuing to breathe deeply into your power center,
Into your solar plexus.
Repeat with me.
I can only control myself,
My thoughts,
My actions,
My reactions.
I release control over anything that is not mine to control.
Once more.
I can only control myself,
My thoughts,
My actions,
My reactions.
I release control over anything that is not mine to control.
Take a few minutes in silence now to repeat that mantra over and over in your head or to just ruminate on the things you would like to release control.
Continue to meditate in silence and I will bring you back out to close the meditation together.
Good night.

When you find yourself drawn in to attempting to control a situation outside of your realm,
Bring your attention back to the solar plexus.
Breathe into that power center and know that you can control what is yours and trust the rest to the universe.
Thank you so much for coming on this meditation journey with me today.
Have a beautiful day.
