The awareness journey continues...Once we become aware of our surroundings, our breath, our body, our thoughts, our senses, then our emotions follow. A sense reaction followed by thought and emotion can lead us to understanding our minds (and actions) better. Enjoy this final awareness meditation, this is the final meditation in a series of 7 I created to go together, to create awareness in the body, mind, and beyond.

Thank you for joining me on this emotional awareness meditation.

Find a comfortable seat where you can remain for the entire meditation.

Lengthen your spine,

Creating space in the body for energy to flow through.

And now let's check in with how you are feeling.

Bring your attention directly to the emotional body.

Are there any specific emotions you are feeling as you came into this meditation today?

If nothing is immediately coming to the surface,

Begin to explore your senses.

Our senses lead to thought reactions in the mind,

Which lead to emotional reactions.

Take a few moments to just observe the senses.

Blink the eyes open.

What do you see?

Notice what you hear.

Bring awareness to your taste and smell.

And bring awareness to the physical body.

What is your body touching?

The ground as you sit,

Your clothing.

Now notice any thoughts that have come up based on your sensory experience.

Maybe you saw something that made you have a thought or reminded you of something.

Maybe you heard something familiar.

Maybe your awareness to the physical body brought you a thought.

Did any of these thoughts bring up an emotion?

How did they make you feel?

Come back to that emotional awareness.

Sit here in meditation for a few minutes,

Continuing to come back to emotional awareness.

Not judging the emotions that you are experiencing and not trying to change them or release them,

But simply bringing in awareness.

I am feeling angry.

I am feeling sad.

I am feeling joyful.

I am feeling grateful.

Whatever emotional experiences continue to arise,

Let them be and just become aware.

Let them be.

Let them be.

Let them be.

Let them be.

Let them be.

Let them be.

Let them be.

Let them be.

When we can observe a sensory experience,

Then a thought reaction followed by an emotional response,

We can begin to understand where our feelings come from.

And thus begins the practice of non-attachment.

I invite you to bring this awareness with you today.

When an emotion arises,

See if you can trace it back to the thought and sense from which it came.

Then breathe.

Inhale peace.

Exhale.

Release any judgment and just allow the emotion to be.
