As we begin,
Find a comfortable place where you can sit or lie down.
Close your eyes and take a conscious breath,
Letting it fill your belly.
And then take a conscious exhale,
Beginning a process of turning inward.
Take another breath.
And as you exhale,
Let yourself arrive fully in this moment.
Feel the surface beneath you.
Notice the sensation of your body being held by the ground,
By the earth.
There's nothing to do but to be here right now,
In your body.
Allow your breath to move at its own pace,
Naturally and calmly.
I invite you to gently bring to mind a moment when you've experienced confusion or uncertainty.
Maybe you're currently in the midst of a situation,
Or perhaps you're thinking of an experience from the past.
As the feeling of confusion arises,
Try to allow it.
Notice the texture of the confusion.
Is it heavy or light?
Does it swirl like a fog?
Or does it feel like a blanket?
Do you feel it somewhere in your body in particular?
It's okay to feel confused.
It's simply a part of your experience right now.
As you sit with your confusion,
Let go of your need to figure it out.
Imagine your mind widening,
Like the sky open and spacious.
Let go of pressure to choose a path.
Trust that you will know what to do.
Allow yourself to be curious,
Zooming out to all the possibilities without judgment.
Your confusion is a reminder for you to pause.
It's natural to want to push forward,
But we are going to let it remind us that we can get back into alignment with our intentions.
As you continue to anchor with your breath,
Let yourself soften,
Feeling flexible,
Like clay in your hands.
You don't need to know everything right now.
It's enough to simply be open and curious about your experience.
Let's try and take this a level deeper.
As you sit with your confusion,
Gently explore where you feel perhaps a conflict or an inner disagreement.
Try and connect with different parts of yourself.
Maybe it's your sense of spirituality,
Your intellect,
Your emotions,
Your body.
Is there a part of you that feels out of alignment or at odds with another part,
Particularly when you think about the situation that is bringing confusion?
I'm going to just give you a little bit of time here to check in with whatever aspects of yourself need attention right now.
If you need more time,
Feel free to pause the meditation and then come back when you're ready.
If you find that there's some part of you that feels in tension,
Ask that part of you,
What do you need?
Simply listen to the response without judgment or expectation.
As you breathe,
See if you can offer this part of yourself what it needs.
Or if you're not able to do that right now,
You can also let that part of you know that you're going to make a plan to address that need.
You don't need to resolve everything right now.
Just notice how holding space for each part of you can shift your experience.
With this deeper awareness of your inner landscape,
Gently shift your focus to your intention.
Instead of asking,
What decision do I need to make?
Ask yourself,
What is my true intention?
What feels important to you at a core level?
Allow this intention to rise naturally.
Usually it will come to you pretty quickly.
Breathe in this sense of clarity,
Trusting that following through on your intention will guide you through the confusion.
Check in with your experience of confusion and notice if anything has shifted emotionally,
Physically,
Or in some other way.
As we move towards bringing the meditation to a close,
Take another conscious breath,
Feeling the air enter into your nose,
Filling your lungs.
And then exhale,
Feeling the reverse of the process.
Begin to bring your awareness back into this moment,
Feeling the surface beneath you,
Listening for any sounds around you.
As we close the meditation,
Gently open your eyes,
Carrying with you a sense of openness,
Curiosity,
And inner alignment.
Know that clarity will come in its own time and that confusion is simply part of the journey toward deeper understanding.
