Begin by getting into a comfortable position,
Either sitting or lying down,
And closing your eyes.
Give yourself permission to relax as you start to take some deep breaths.
In and out,
Drawing your breath very deep into the core of your stomach,
Inhaling into your chest all the way until you're completely full and exhaling very slowly.
A couple more like this,
Going slower and slower with each inhale and exhale.
Continuing to breathe consciously and slowly as you start to turn your awareness inside your body.
Just doing a gentle scan and allowing yourself to relax little by little,
Surrendering to this present moment.
Starting the scan at the top of your head and just noticing what it feels like on your crown and your forehead,
Your eyebrows moving down into the back of the head,
The neck,
All of the tiny muscles in your face,
Your jawline.
Moving your awareness down to your collarbone,
Down your shoulders and arms.
Just observing what is there and giving yourself permission to go deeper.
Following the sound of my voice as you bring your awareness down into your chest,
Into your heart center.
Again,
Noticing and relaxing as your awareness moves down into your ribcage and abdomen.
Noticing how your back feels,
Upper middle and lower back.
Moving your awareness into your hip space,
Pelvic floor,
Down into your thighs and knees,
Relaxing,
Going deeper.
Moving into your shins,
Ankles,
And feet.
And just taking a moment now to notice how you feel.
Focusing on your breath,
On your body,
And gently beginning to send your energy down into the earth.
Down past layers of dirt,
Mud,
Rock sediment,
Water tables,
All the way down into the core of the earth.
And as you send your energy down into mother earth,
Notice what it feels like.
Do you notice any temperature changes?
Any difference in pressure?
Do you notice a switch in energy?
Maybe a type of nourishment or a compact feeling?
Whatever it is,
Just noticing and being with it.
And moving your awareness back up those same energetic lines that you sent down into mother earth.
Drawing with you some of the earth's nourishing power.
All the way back up into your body.
And notice what it is like to have some of that earth energy within you.
And sending that energy all the way up from your root to the crown of your head.
Allowing it to expand outward into the cosmos above.
And from this space of connected groundedness,
Allowing yourself to gently drift,
To gently be transported to a beautiful space in nature.
A protected space,
A private space that only you have access to.
This could be anywhere,
Somewhere fictional,
Somewhere you've actually been.
But allow it to come together in your mind's eye.
And notice what type of natural environment it is.
Is there water?
Is it dry?
Is it warm?
Is it cool?
Are there trees or other types of plants?
Is there sand?
Are there mountains or is there an ocean?
Is it a desert?
Is it somewhere in a totally different galaxy that looks nothing like this planet at all?
Is there animal life?
Or some other type of life?
As this scene unfolds around you and before you,
Allow yourself to relax deeper into it.
Connecting to it through your senses.
Noticing what the air feels like on your skin.
Noticing any sounds that are nearby.
How does the ground feel underneath your feet?
Are there any smells in this place?
There's no right or wrong way to do this.
But allowing yourself to connect even deeper to whatever it is that you're experiencing right now.
As you are settling in,
I'm going to ask you to call upon at least one of your ancestors.
Whichever high vibrational ancestor wants to show up for you at this very moment.
Keeping an open mind and an open heart.
That this might be an ancestor that you know.
Or an ancestor that you do not know.
Perhaps very far back or even ahead in your ancestral lineage.
Be open to the ways in which this ancestor might reveal him or herself to you.
They could show up as a human version of themselves.
Or they might show up as something else.
They might show up as energy or as a symbol or a color.
Or some representation of themselves.
An animal perhaps.
They could present themselves to you as a feeling,
A sensation in your body.
A sound,
A smell.
Turning on your imagination and allowing yourself to be open to whatever may come.
Call upon your ancestor now.
And see them coming to you from out in the distance.
In this beautiful space and nature that you've created for yourself.
Watch them as they get closer and closer until you start to make out their outline or their features.
Notice how you feel as you sense them approaching.
And once they are right in front of you,
Begin to thank them for showing up.
Again noticing how it feels to be right here with your ancestor spirit from beyond.
And I'll be quiet now as you engage them in a dialogue or perhaps just listening to whatever messages they might have for you.
Beginning to wrap up any questions or dialogue happening between you and your ancestor.
Thanking them dearly for showing up for you today.
And knowing that you can return here whenever you want.
And that they are always with you even when you are not aware of their presence.
Thanking the beautiful land that has nourished you during this exchange.
This beautiful place and nature that you created.
Thanking yourself for showing up to this practice.
And when you're ready,
