Welcome to this meditation on acceptance.
What does that mean to you,
That word,
Acceptance?
Acceptance can be about us seeing something for what it is and allowing it to just be without trying to change it,
Without forcing it to be different,
Without trying to see it differently in a more acceptable way.
We're so used to trying to make life better that sometimes we forget how powerful it can be to simply accept,
To accept things just as they are.
Join me today on a walk into acceptance.
Find somewhere comfortable,
Lying down on the floor,
On a bed,
A sofa,
Or sitting up in a chair,
Back straight,
Feet resting on the ground.
And when you're ready,
Just close your eyes.
Let your eyelids rest gently.
Allow your eyelashes to sit lightly on your face and let your eyes relax.
Relax the muscles around your eyes,
Your eyebrows and your forehead.
Feel a warm energy soothing your under eye area,
Soothing each inner corner and outer corner and your eyelids.
Now,
In your mind's eye,
Move out from the space that you're in and begin to visualize yourself standing calmly in a field.
See the colors of the field in the warm sunshine.
Feel that gentle warmth on your skin,
On your face.
Let it fill you with a vibrant energy that begins inside your tummy,
Spreads out through your legs,
Through your arms,
Up through your neck,
Through your head and deep into your mind.
Allow yourself to hear the sounds of the field around you,
The rustling of the grasses and leaves,
The wind whispering through the trees at the edge of the field and the insects chirping peacefully in the grass.
The crickets,
Cicadas and bees chirping and buzzing as they move around slowly in the sunshine,
Busy and focused on their daily business,
Collecting food,
Sipping water,
Supporting their colonies.
They accept themselves,
Their purpose,
Their environment.
They accept the weather,
The baking heat of the summer sun,
The pouring autumn rains,
The howling winter winds,
The gentle spring awakening.
They accept that there is light and there is dark.
They flow with the rhythm of the days,
The seasons,
The years.
They take from each day what they need.
They accept what it offers.
They accept what it does not offer.
Acceptance of who we are,
Where we are and what we can offer our lives lets us be more.
It lets us spend less time fighting,
Less time and energy trying to twist and change the universe.
Acceptance doesn't mean that we stop trying to learn,
To heal,
To grow.
It means we accept and allow the process that we are in.
We accept that we are human beings,
Human beings who could never be perfect because perfect doesn't exist.
It cannot exist.
Acceptance allows us to feel peace,
To connect into the energy of the universe and allow it to flow through us and out into our world.
Our words for today are simple.
I can accept.
I accept.
I am here and it is now.
I can accept.
I accept.
I am here and it is now.
I feel how I feel and I let that be.
I let it go.
I feel how I feel and I let it be.
I let that go.
I let it be.
I let that go.
I accept.
All I am now is all I need to be right now.
All I am now is all I need to be right now.
I am exactly where I am supposed to be.
I am exactly where I am supposed to be.
Take some moments now to feel the gentle energy of acceptance.
Let it flow through you,
Relaxing you,
Letting you just be.
Exactly as you are,
Exactly as you are supposed to be.
Take some moments now.
I will call you back in.
I will be here.
Now feel yourself with a deep breath in.
And a deep breath out.
And another nourishing,
Energising deep breath in.
When you're ready,
Make that exhale long and slow.
And take another deep breath.
Deep and slow.
Then release slow and powerful.
The breath of acceptance.
Now breathing at your normal rhythm,
Begin to feel your way back into your toes,
Your fingers,
Your face,
Your legs,
Your arms,
Back into your body.
Give yourself a gentle stir,
An awakening back into your world.
As you feel yourself coming back,
Bring with you that energy of acceptance,
That warm,
Bright field of sunshine and peace.
Keep that feeling with you,
Inside you.
And when you need it,
Breathe back into it.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes and take a deep breath here.
Remember acceptance.
I'll be here for you next time.
Until then,
Remember,
Sometimes,
Just let yourself be in our universe and accept that all you are is all you need to be,
Right now.
