Hello and welcome and today's word for living your best life is fun.
When was the last time you laughed so hard your stomach hurt?
When was the last time you laughed so hard tears were running down your face?
Do you allow yourself to play,
To explore,
To enjoy life without guilt?
Many adults forget the importance of fun.
We get caught up in responsibilities,
Productivity and obligations,
Believing that fun is for children but not for adults.
But fun isn't just about pleasure,
It's a vital ingredient for creativity and overall happiness.
There are even meditations that focus on laughing.
All you have to do is laugh.
So ask yourself today please,
Are you making time for fun in your life?
And if not,
What's stopping you?
So let's have a look from lessons in history.
Albert Einstein,
Known for his groundbreaking theories,
He was also very much a person who valued fun.
He once said in fact play is the highest form of research.
He played the violin,
He told jokes and he understood that curiosity and joy fuel innovation.
And that's probably because when we're laughing and we're enjoying ourselves we're more relaxed and when we're relaxed the mind finds it much easier to open up to new ideas of creativity.
Richard Feynman,
One of the greatest physicists of all time,
He was known for his playful approach to learning.
His philosophy,
I would rather have questions that can't be answered than answers that can't be questioned.
And the wonderful Walt Disney,
Who built an empire based on fun and imagination,
Changed entertainment forever and even in many cases business strategies.
A study from Stanford University found that people who engage in fun activities regularly are more creative,
Productive and resilient to stress.
And since laughter releases endorphins,
The brain's natural feel-good chemicals which reduce stress and improve mood,
It makes sense that we need to bring laughter into our lives.
Did you know that the average child laughs 300 times a day while the average adult laughs only 17 times?
I mean even that I would challenge.
It's time to change all of that.
So how could you bring more fun into your life today?
Let's have a think about this one.
So I'm going to share three ideas as usual with you.
So number one is schedule fun like an appointment into your diary.
Because if you don't make time for fun,
Your life and your time will get bobbled up by something else,
Either scrolling or commitments or obligations or the needs of other people.
So put time aside for fun.
And if you're in a relationship or you have a family with children,
All do it together.
And if you're not in that relationship,
Create time with your friends or on your own.
Things that will make you laugh.
One thing that I like to say is why not just go out to a park and just watch children?
Children bring so much joy and laughter into our world and just watch how they move through the world.
Absolutely wonderful.
Number two,
Do something playful.
Dance in your kitchen,
Wiggle around and look like an idiot.
Who cares?
Watch a comedy,
Play a game,
Whatever makes you smile.
Go back in time and remember what it was like if you've forgotten.
And number three,
Surround yourself with fun people.
It's very hard to be fun if everyone around you is telling you to be serious.
So find those people,
Those colleagues,
And after enjoy a contagious.
Spend time with people who really do bring out the playful side,
Which we all have in us somewhere tucked inside.
We all remember it from childhood.
It's still there somewhere.
And it's important to remember that laughing can even be really good for our health,
Our physical health.
And there are many stories of people who've been very,
Very sick,
Who by dedicating their time to only surrounding themselves with funny movies and funny episodes have found health again.
So let's not underestimate the power that this has.
Even if on the outside we think it looks superficial,
Having fun,
Of course,
Will be a important part of living a great life.
And we're going to end today with a quotation by George Bernard Shaw.
We don't stop playing because we grow old.
We grow old because we stop playing.
