Meeting Yourself In Your Wholeness
How would it be to meet yourself in your wholeness, as the person you were before the world tried to make you anything else? Take this journey, shared by Ceryn Rowntree, to remember that part of yourself.
Transcript
As always,
Begin by getting nice and comfortable,
Somewhere where you'll be safe and undisturbed for the next approximately 15 minutes.
Once you're ready and you're nice and comfortable,
Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths in.
.
.
And out.
And in.
.
.
And out.
And in.
.
.
And out.
As you continue to breathe a pace and a depth that feels comfortable to you,
Begin to focus your attention on the ways in which that breath causes your chest to rise and to fall.
To rise and to fall.
Draw all of your attention to the very centre of your chest,
Noticing that rise and fall as you do.
And the next time that your chest falls,
With an exhale,
Allow your attention to move into it,
Inside of your chest,
Into your heart space.
Bring your attention fully and completely into this part of your energetic body,
Noticing as you do how that feels.
Perhaps this is something that you see or visualise,
Or perhaps it's just a feeling,
A knowing,
That this is where you are and that this is what is going on here in this space.
As you become comfortable and used to being in this heart space of yours,
You look around and notice a doorway.
This is quite simply the most beautiful doorway you've ever seen.
And you walk towards it,
Paying attention as you do to the colours of the door,
To the materials of it,
To the frame and the gateway around it.
As you come closer,
You reach your hand out to touch the door and you realise that your own name is written upon it.
Perhaps it's written in a language that you don't consciously recognise,
Or perhaps these are letters you know.
But either way,
The name that you see there,
It speaks so beautifully to you.
It lets you know that this is your place,
This is your doorway,
And it invites you to move forward,
Knowing as you do that whatever lies on the other side is wholly and completely safe,
Wholly and completely yours.
And so you hand out to that door,
You put your hand onto the handle and you move to open the doorway.
Opening it and pushing forwards,
You see ahead of you a truly beautiful scene.
A scene in nature that is,
Again,
The most perfect place you can imagine.
Perhaps it's somewhere that you consciously know that you have happy,
Happy memories,
Or perhaps it's just somewhere you've always dreamed of going.
Or somewhere that feels completely foreign to you and yet feels entirely welcoming.
But as you look into it,
As you look through that doorway,
You recognise that this is a place that is so incredibly welcoming,
So perfect for you to enter into now at this time.
And so that's what you do.
Taking a step over the threshold,
Allowing yourself to walk forward through and into this beautiful,
Beautiful space.
When you get in there,
You realise that the air is sweeter than you've ever breathed before.
That the noises around you,
Perhaps the birdsong or the sounds of nature,
They're so harmonious,
So melodious that it feels like music to your ears.
You notice the colours and recognise them as being more full than you've ever noticed them before and so you head forwards,
Desperately wishing to explore this place,
Wishing to get to know it and to come to find your own beautiful resting place to just sit and enjoy it.
As you walk forwards,
You begin to see ahead of you a figure.
A figure that is sitting with her back to you,
Very still,
Looking for all intents and purposes,
Very serene as they too soak up this beautiful space.
You recognise this person,
Even from the back,
And so you make your way towards them,
Feeling a familiar pain,
A familiar longing that this is someone that you have long since lost touch with,
But always loved,
Always wanted to have as part of your life and so you move forwards.
And as you get closer,
The person turns round.
They have a face that you recognise,
One that you know very well because this is your face,
Your face in its trueness,
Its wholeness,
Its full beauty.
They smile at you,
A big beaming smile,
And invite you to come closer.
Come on,
Sit down,
Let's talk,
They say,
Patting the ground next to them,
Or perhaps standing up even to welcome you forward.
You move towards them,
You greet them,
And you take your seat next to this person,
Marvelling as you do not only at the beauty of the spot that they've chosen to rest because this is the most wonderful place you've ever seen,
But marvelling at the person next to you,
The person who is you,
Completely and utterly in your wholeness.
This version of yourself reaches out and takes your hand,
And as soon as they do,
You feel the zing of energy between the two of you,
A connection that is too strong to be ignored,
A connection that speaks of so much of what you know that is so familiar,
And yet carries a power,
A beauty,
A wisdom greater than you had perhaps ever imagined.
Allow yourself to sit in that energy for just a moment as it travels from your hand right the way through your body,
And notice how it feels both physically and emotionally.
Notice what you see and hear within yourself as this energy flows into,
Around,
And through you now.
After a moment,
The person sitting next to you smiles and says,
Tell me,
What would you like to know?
What are the things you would like to ask me about who I am,
Who you are,
That perhaps you've forgotten and need to be reminded of?
And now here's your opportunity to ask.
Ask whatever it is that feels right to you,
Perhaps how it feels to be in your wholeness,
Perhaps how they did it,
Perhaps what you most need to remember in order to come back to this place of your own wholeness,
Your own wisdom,
Power,
Beauty,
And joy.
When I'm back,
I'll start As the person next to you continues to answer your questions,
They tell you more about themselves,
But more than that,
They show you more about themselves.
Showing you through your own eyes,
Through your own third eye and your inner vision,
The different places,
The different times,
The different experiences within life where your wholeness may have been taken from you,
Where you may have been led down a path of believing that you were less than you truly are.
They show you how instead they,
In their place,
Have arisen above that,
Have kept that kernel of their own wholeness within them,
Have retained that full and true connection to their own power,
Their own wisdom,
Their own truth,
Their own beauty,
Wholly at the forefront of their mind,
Their heart,
Their body and their spirit.
You move through those different visions and with every one of them that you see,
You notice those same kernels igniting within you,
Those same aspects of yourself making themselves known,
Those same facets of your own wholeness.
Begin to awaken and reminding you that they are there,
That they have been there all along.
Allow yourself to feel and to watch that for a short while now.
Allow your time in this place with this version of yourself is short.
There is still time to ask them for that one piece of wisdom,
That one piece of knowledge that they wish to share with you and so that's exactly what you do.
Asking them above all else what they want and need you to know and then paying attention,
Listening as they share that information,
That insight and that wisdom with you now.
Thank you.
Finally,
As you prepare to leave,
This version of yourself offers you a gift,
Reaching out that other hand and placing something into your palm that is for you,
Something that is for you to carry within you as a reminder of them,
A reminder of you,
You in your wholeness.
You take the gift graciously and then take the time now to look at it,
To inspect it with that done,
You bid farewell to this version of yourself.
Perhaps you stand together and embrace or maybe just embrace where you are or perhaps you just share words knowing as you do that you can return to this place,
Return to this version of yourself anytime you wish,
That in fact you carry this place and this version of yourself within you,
They are you.
And so you stand and you look around one last time at this beautiful place in which you find yourself and then you make your way back to the door,
Back to that beautiful doorway that as you close it behind you,
You give it one last smile,
Recognizing that the door as beautiful as it is,
Is only one small facet of the beauty of what's inside.
And so you move outwards,
Back into your heart space and you begin to draw your attention back from that heart space.
As you become conscious once again of the rise and the fall of your chest,
The rise and the fall as you breathe in and out,
Coming back up to noticing that chest,
Coming back up to drawing all of your attention to that rise and that fall,
You begin to focus on your breath,
The in and the out,
The in and the out.
You begin to shuffle around where you are,
To wriggle your toes and your fingers,
To move your head on your neck,
To stretch out,
To start to hear the noises around you in the room,
Around you in the wider world,
To notice the temperature of the air on your face.
You have one final good stretch as you breathe in and out.
And when you're ready,
Wholly and completely back in your body,
Open your eyes and come back into the present moment.
