This is an evening meditation to re-connect with yourself after a long day. After re-connecting with your body and your breath, you will practice self-compassion with yourself, for whatever happens during the day. We will then turn to gratitude for the very small moments that brought you joy today, and set an intention for the night ahead.

Evening meditation.

As this day is coming to an end,

I'm inviting you to reconnect very gently with your body.

It's very likely that you spent a lot of the day in your head.

Maybe you were working,

But even if you were not working,

We tend to spend most of our time in our heads.

And as the sun is setting,

I'm inviting you to also come back to your body by finding a really comfortable position and put one hand on your heart and one hand on your belly.

And I'm inviting you now to reconnect with your breath and feel gratitude for the fact that you have been breathing all day without even noticing.

So you don't need to change your breathing,

You just need to notice it.

Notice the inhale and the exhale.

Breathing on the breath can be a wonderful way to find our way back to our body.

And as you're noticing your breath,

Imagine that you are holding a golden thread and that this thread is taking you back to who you were this morning when you just woke up,

When you opened your eyes.

Remember where you were,

How you were feeling.

And if you set an intention this morning,

Remember what intention you set.

And if you didn't set an intention,

That's okay.

Just connect with how you intended to spend that day,

How you had hoped that day would go.

And the point here is not to judge yourself if the day didn't go as planned or if you set an intention and you completely forgot that you had committed to being more peaceful or joyful or calm.

Even if you did set an intention,

It's very likely that you forgot it during the day.

And that's okay.

Now is our opportunity to reconnect with this intention or with how we wish we had felt during the day.

So maybe we wish that the day had gone better or that we had been calmer or less anxious.

So I invite you to connect with the feeling you wish you had experienced more during the day.

Maybe you wish you had been more present.

Often that's what I find in the evening.

I realize I have not been present enough during the day to myself,

To the people that I love.

And again,

It's not about beating ourselves up for that.

It's completely normal that we cannot be present all the time.

So now is our opportunity to come back to ourselves and feel that presence or that peace that we want to experience more.

So pick one emotion that you wanted to experience more of today and feel it in your body,

Feel it in your bones.

And now that you've connected with this emotion,

I'm inviting you to find three things,

Three moments that you experienced today,

Which you are grateful for.

It could be tiny moments.

It could be feeling the sun on your skin or taking a shower or laughing with someone or smiling at a stranger,

Very small things.

Try to remember those small moments that gave you a little bit of joy.

And even if the day didn't go as planned,

Maybe you had a stressful day,

It's important to change our default mode,

Which is always looking at the negative.

It's the negative bias.

And reverse it by making the conscious effort to find what went well.

And as this meditation is coming to an end,

I'm inviting you to set an intention for the night.

It could be that you want to have a restful night.

You can also visualize how you want to wake up tomorrow.

It could be that you want to wake up feeling peaceful,

Feeling rested,

Anything that resonates with you.

I wish you a beautiful night.
