Welcome,
Dear queer people,
Welcome to this queer love meditation.
We can just start off by finding a comfortable place to lie down or sit.
If you're sitting,
Try sitting with a straight back and a loose,
Loose front,
So you're still relaxed.
We just start off by taking a breath together.
So we inhale and exhale.
And another one.
And out.
And the next out breath you can close your eyes.
So breathe in.
And out.
Now you can just let your breath flow as it feels natural.
Feel the movement and the breath of your lungs in your whole body as if you're breathing with every cell.
Let the breath,
The awareness of the breath in the whole body,
Soften you.
So your shoulders relax and fall down.
Your stomach is just poking out and your jaw and brow hang loose.
Imagine a light by your chest.
It's warm and soothing.
It prickles in your skin.
It grows with every breath inside of your body.
It starts off by filling all of your torso.
It moves out to your arms.
A warm light fills all of your legs,
Moving all the way out to your feet.
And lastly it fills your head.
You can sit with this light,
This warmth like a hug.
As queer people it can sometimes be hard to love and accept every part of ourselves.
We've almost been programmed to do the opposite,
Often unconsciously.
But right now just try to appreciate every part of you.
Without having to fit anything in with any idea of reality,
Just loving everything there is.
Loving even the hot pot.
Now try repeating these internally,
These sentences after me.
I love you because you are.
You are deserving of love by simply being.
We can now expand this light to fill every queer person in our community,
Everyone essentially.
Let it shine out from your skin,
Out from your being.
And we can again say internally,
This time not towards ourselves but also towards everyone.
I love you because you are.
You are deserving of love by simply being.
Love and this acceptance is very connected.
When we have the capacity to love others we can also love ourselves more deeply.
And when we have acceptance for ourselves we gain the space to hold this love for others as well.
Now let all of this love and light and warmth settle down in silence.
So I will be quiet for some time.
And you'll just focus on your breath.
On every inhale,
Internally you can note in,
And on every out breath you can note out.
It's just a way to hold your focus on some words connected to your breath.
I will speak again and then slowly finish the meditation off.
