So as you settle in this morning,
Give yourself permission to show up and be exactly as you are in this moment.
In some moments,
That's the most powerful and healing thing we can do for ourselves.
So just let ourselves be exactly as we are.
Notice this has nothing to do with liking or disliking,
Approving of,
Not approving of,
Or simply saying,
Hello.
I see you.
You can be here.
So whatever part of you is up,
Most of us have been so indoctrinated into even subtle forms of needing to fix ourselves,
Change ourselves,
Push ourselves into particular boxes to be approved of or accepted.
But again,
Sometimes on very subtle levels,
We don't realize the degree to which we're rejecting ourselves.
And imagine for a moment being in a partnership or even a friendship with someone who,
Again,
Even on just a subtle level,
Might be consistently rejecting you in some way.
How long would this connection feel nourishing or like something you want to participate in?
So beginning today by opening all the doors of the heart and saying,
Come in.
Come in to whoever's here.
Come in to whatever's here.
Sometimes in spiritual practice,
We begin to get a sense that some part of us that's arising is not the totality of us because we've tasted our true nature.
We know,
For example,
This part of me who's so full of resistance and anger,
That's not the totality of me.
That's just part of me.
But then maybe even in a quiet way,
We push that part of us away.
We call it unreal.
We write it off.
In this moment,
With the doors of your heart wide open,
Look to see,
Who have I been writing off?
Is there any part of me that I've been subconsciously sliding under the rug or maybe dramatically walking out of the home of my heart?
We can have clarity that some part of us is arising and that that's not the totality of us while honoring them,
Seeing them,
Maybe appreciating them.
So if the part of you who's feeling resistance is up,
For example,
Who's present to resistance,
Expressing resistance,
Maybe you pause to admire their fire,
Their determination,
Their passion,
Their conviction.
Look to see if there's any part of you in this moment that longs to be admired,
To be seen fully,
To be appreciated rather than dominated.
Let yourself see that you are not this resistance while not diminishing the resistance.
Let this expression of embracing the part of you who's resistant,
Who feels the weight and magnitude of the cloud of resistance,
Let that part of you come through the door to the open heart and let this be the first expression of love.
And by first I mean that before we turn anywhere else,
Let us turn to the unseen or denied parts of us,
Specifically to be the resistant one.
Start by loving who's here,
This self that we thought we were.
If there weren't some distortion in place confusing this self to be who we really are,
We wouldn't fight it,
We wouldn't try to change it,
We wouldn't resist.
Feeling love for this part of us is an indication that you're seeing this part from the seat of conscious,
Compassionate presence.
So rest in this seat of presence,
See the part of you who gets swept up in resisting what is,
Knowing that they aren't the totality of you.
Say yes,
Hello,
And I love you.
Resting in this love and this presence,
Letting this part of you be enveloped in compassionate presence for a few more minutes.
In silence.
As we transition out of this contemplation,
Take just a moment to see yourself moving through your day from the seat of presence,
From the wholeness of you,
Saying yes,
Parts of you,
And yes to what is.
And closing out by taking the longest,
Deepest,
Fullest inhale.
