Hi and welcome.

So glad you're here with me.

Today we're diving into a topic that is both personal and universal.

Your true desires.

What is that that you really want?

Not what do you think you should want,

Not what others expect of you,

But what feels right and true for you at a soul level.

This audio is about tuning in into that inner wisdom.

We'll talk about the difference between the desires that drain us and the ones that light us up.

And we'll take a little time to explore what's calling to you right now.

I think desires get a bad reputation sometimes,

Especially in spiritual spaces.

We hear things like let go of your desires or desire is the root of suffering.

And sure,

Some desires might create restlessness or longing or dissatisfaction.

But I don't think it's that simple.

I believe our truest desires are actually invitations.

They're guiding us toward becoming more fully ourselves,

Our true selves.

Let's break it down.

I like to think of desires in two categories.

The first is what I call fear-based desires.

They're the ones rooted in scarcity,

Like feeling we're not enough or we are falling behind.

They often come with a sense of urgency,

Like there's something to prove.

For example,

Maybe you've chased a promotion at work,

Not because you love the role or the growth it offers,

But because you feel like achieving it will make you more worthy in the eyes of others.

Or maybe it's the desire to look a certain way,

Not for your own well-being,

But to fit into a societal ideal.

These kinds of desires can feel exhausting.

And even when you achieve them,

They often leave you asking,

Was that it?

Then there are soulful desires.

These come from a deeper,

Quieter place.

They feel expansive,

Like they're leading you toward growth,

Toward becoming the person you were meant to be.

For example,

You might feel called to start painting again,

Not because you're trying to sell your work or because you want to become famous,

But because it brings you joy and reconnects you with a part of yourself.

Or maybe it's the desire to spend more time with loved ones,

Not to meet an obligation,

But because it nurtures your heart and makes you feel alive.

Take a moment here to reflect.

Think about a recent desire or dream,

Something you want that has been on your mind.

Does it feel light and expansive?

Or does it come with a sense of pressure or urgency?

Take a few seconds to sit with that feeling and notice what comes up.

Simply noticing the difference between these two types of desires is a powerful step toward honoring what's true for you.

Let's take this deeper with a little visualization exercise.

I call this one your future star.

It's a playful way to connect with your truest desires.

So,

Find a comfortable position.

If it feels good,

Close your eyes,

Take a deep breath in and let it out.

Now,

Picture yourself standing at the entrance of a magical store called your future.

Above the door,

There's a sign that reads,

Everything is possible.

You step inside and you see shelves stretching out in every direction.

Each shelf holds a different version of your life,

A different possibility.

On one shelf,

Maybe you see a life filled with creativity,

Painting,

Writing,

Building something extraordinary.

On another,

A life full of adventure,

Traveling,

Exploring,

Meeting new people.

Further down,

You might find a life of deep connection,

Nurturing relationships with family,

Friends or partner.

Maybe a shelf with material things,

Things you'd like to buy and have in your life.

Take your time here,

Browse the shelves.

Notice which ones draw you in.

You don't need to decide anything right now.

This is about exploring.

What excites you?

What feels good?

What feels right?

What brings you joy?

What would you like to try on?

Just like in a shop,

Have fun,

Try them on,

See how they feel like,

See what you look like and there's no commitment to take anything with you.

As you walk through the store,

Notice the details.

What does the air feel like?

Is it warm,

Cool or just right?

What do the shelves look like?

Are they glowing,

Colorful or perhaps lined with textures that draw your eye?

Imagine picking something up,

A small object that represents one of the possibilities.

Feel its weight in your hands.

What does it tell you?

Does it bring up feelings of excitement,

Curiosity or maybe even hesitation?

When you're ready,

Take a mental note of one or two possibilities that stand out to you.

And remember,

You can come back to the store anytime it's your future store.

Your desires will keep evolving as you do.

Now that you've explored,

Let's ground what you discovered.

Ask yourself,

What stood out for me in the future store?

What's one small step I could take toward exploring that possibility?

As you reflect,

It's also important to recognize if there are desires you've outgrown.

Maybe there's something you've been holding on to,

Not because it still feels true,

But because it once did.

Imagine placing those outdated desires on a shelf in the store.

They can be recycled.

You don't have to get rid of them completely,

But you can set them down for now,

Knowing they served their purpose.

Picture yourself walking away lighter,

Freer and more open to what's next.

Now,

In your own time,

You can start coming out of the future shop and if you had your eyes closed,

You can open them now,

Gently.

Here is a little practice you can use as you move forward.

When a desire or decision comes up,

Pause and ask yourself,

Is this coming from fear or love?

Your body often knows the answer before your mind does.

Does it feel tight and pressured?

That's probably fear.

Does it feel open?

Does it feel open and free?

That's love.

Trust your gut.

It's wiser than we give it credit for.

Before we wrap up,

I want to remind you,

It's okay to let go of desires that no longer resonate with you.

We outgrow things.

That's part of life.

Give yourself permission to shift,

To change,

To dream new dreams.

Honoring your true desires isn't about having a perfect plan or achieving a flawless outcome.

It's about listening to your heart and taking one step at a time toward the life that feels uniquely yours.

So,

What is one desire you feel ready to honor today?

It doesn't have to be big,

Just something that feels true,

Feels good.

Hold that intention close to your heart as you move forward.

Before we close,

Let's take a moment to center ourselves.

Take a deep breath in.

Hold it for a moment.

And let it out slowly.

As you exhale,

Imagine releasing any doubts or fears that might be holding you back.

Take another deep breath in.

This time,

Breathe in a sense of possibility,

Of openness to your truest desires.

Hold it in for a moment.

And let it out slowly.

And then take a final breath.

Thank you for spending this time with me.

Your willingness to reflect and explore is a gift,

To yourself and to the world.

If you ever need a little clarity or inspiration,

Feel free to revisit this session.

Until next time,

Keep trusting your journey and following the call of your soul.

See you soon.

You
