This is the optimal weight meditation.
I've created this meditation for you to do whenever you feel out of sorts in your body and you notice a disconnection from your digestion,
You notice a disconnection from your hunger and satiation cycles,
You notice a disconnection and feeling just uncomfortable with your body or your body weight.
So what I'd like you to do is adjust your seat so that as you sit you reach your inner thighs way back and apart.
You might feel like there's a huge curve in your lower back and then you release your tailbone down,
The backside of your body down,
The backside of your buttocks down and let your weight be heavy on the floor and take your hands just on the tops of your thighs around your lower belly.
Just let a slow long breath out.
Feel the natural breath come in and another long slow breath out.
So you start to just change over the oxygen in your body allowing a deeper slower breath in right into where your hands are and a longer slower breath out which creates more room.
Sometimes when we've been having intense food cravings we've lost the intelligence that we absorb energy from the breath,
Also from the breath,
Not just from food and water but also from the breath.
So let this breath start to increase the natural energy in your body,
Getting energy straight from the cosmos,
Straight from the life force,
Straight from the oxygen emitted from the trees of our sacred planet.
Feel yourself breathing in that tree energy,
The leafy green energy and as you exhale releasing carbon dioxide,
Releasing that which feeds the trees back.
With your hands on your lower belly,
Just hold your belly lightly and let your awareness start to move right behind and above your belly button.
Right in that place where you get hungry and if you're not currently hungry,
That's okay.
If you're full,
Just feel the fullness or the hunger right in that place.
This is the place of our main fire of the body,
The main fire that turns food into nutrients,
Into that which can be absorbed and become our body.
The central hub is tuning right into the central hub of fire,
The fire of digestion.
And notice if you've felt this fire lately,
How hot you allow this fire to get before you eat food or drink your nutrients.
As paying attention,
Noticing fire,
This center,
The center of what we call Agni in Ayurveda,
The center of the Agni of digestion,
There's a sound that goes with it,
A mantra and its sound is Ram.
You can chant this mantra out loud or silently,

Ram,

Ram,

Ram,

Ram,
Ram.
Feeling the sound stoke the fire.
Feeling how this is the fire that turns the outside world into your inside world.
Ram,
Ram,

Ram.
And visualize the fire as a fire,
Full of all of the colors of fire,
Yellow and orange and red.
And allow this fire to spread through the cells of your body.
Feeling this orange yellow glow,
Awakening the heat of digestion,
This digestion that turns food into body,
Food into tissue of your body.
So this power of fire,
This power,
This almost mystical power of fire that turns the outside world into the living tissue that feeds every cell,
Turning your awareness,
Pointing your awareness to optimize the fire.
And you may even feel your fire,
This fire,
Its center is right where the place where you get hungry.
Now blazing through all cells with this orange yellow glow.
Burning in the deep fire,
Letting it be awakening and turning on your glow so that you have this natural glow.
Now let yourself rest in the blaze.
Notice that you can turn the blaze up or down,
This with your awareness,
How bright and hot you make the colors of this fire,
How much you add intensity with your awareness and how much you let it just chill,
Diffuse and rest in glowing,
This natural glow.
You have the power to adjust your digestion with the power of your awareness.
So practice for a moment turning up the blaze and turning it down and resting in glow.
The word for this glow in Sanskrit is tejas.
And it's the glow of the fire,
The glow of your light,
The light that comes from this optimal digestion,
This optimal agni,
Playing with your glow factor.
Now bring your awareness right back into your solar plexus,
Right into the place you get hungry.
And check in again with hunger satiation.
And I invite you to notice your hunger satiation throughout the day,
Letting yourself get more hungry to feel this place before you eat.
Thinking if your hunger is coming just from this place,
Just from the solar plexus,
Or if it's also coming from all the cells of your body ready for food,
Ready for nourishment.
It's giving yourself that time to feel and reflect.
And I invite you after you eat to feel satiation,
To sit again for a moment or two and feel the satiation of all cells that were hungry,
That were asking for nutrients,
Being nourished.
Letting this be the way you decide how to eat,
What to eat,
How much to eat.
Checking in with your agni,
Checking in hunger,
Satiation,
And resting in the glow of your tejas,
The glow of your illumination.
And this is the key to optimal digestion,
Which leads to optimal weight.
