This is the immune boost meditation.

We all have times where we get sick or where we feel like we're going to get sick.

And this is the meditation to do during those times.

It's also a great meditation to do for those who are recovering from childbirth or from surgery or have just been through trauma.

I recommend doing this meditation in particular.

Okay,

So take a moment to adjust your seat into a seat that your spine is erect and that your hips are heavy and rooted on the support beneath you.

This meditation is an inward journey where we're going to tour the seven layers of tissue of the body.

In Ayurveda,

These seven layers of tissue of the body,

The seven dhatus,

We call them,

Are what creates the immune system.

So it's a very different understanding than in Western medicine.

And we're going to tour these seven layers of tissue and get in touch with that which creates the subtle gel of our protective field that keeps the inside in and the outside out,

That keeps a sense of integrity within our organism and also is deeply tied to being integrated with the larger universal energy.

Allow a breath or two to wash over your body,

Moving any stale energy out with the exhale.

And notice how the breath moves your lungs,

Moves your diaphragm and that your whole body is in this current of movement.

So the first thing we do to boost our immune system is to create a unified field of movement in the body.

This creation isn't really our own doing.

We're just turning our awareness to that which is already happening.

And by adding awareness,

It happens more.

So notice how your whole breath network is moving your body.

And if you rock back and forth,

That's wonderful,

That's just fine.

It might be subtle,

It might be gross,

It might be bigger movements.

And if it's hard to feel,

If your breath feels stuck,

Just exaggerate your breath,

Exaggerate the exhale,

Exaggerate the inhale gently at first.

The key to opening this flow is to allow the inhale and exhale to be gentle at first and more effortful towards the end.

Can even allow a pause between your inhale and your exhale and a pause between your exhale and your inhale.

Now feel how the breath is circulating blood.

This is the first level of tissue of the body is the plasma,

The waters of our blood,

The plasma of our blood,

The nourishment of the nutrients of the food we eat circulating through our blood.

Feel how the breath moves the water,

The water of the blood.

So you might feel as if you are like a river in flow without effort going downstream in flow.

And simply by pointing your awareness to the water of the blood,

The plasma of the blood,

Which contains the lymph system.

Awareness itself is purifying,

Optimizing,

Integrating this first layer of tissue of your body,

This first creation of your immune system.

It's feeling yourself in this flow,

The waters of your blood,

Clear,

Oxygenated,

In flow.

Now we'll go deeper into our blood into the second layer of tissue into the red blood cells that bring the oxygen into the plasma,

Into the deeper tissue of the body.

And to feel into the red blood cells,

The second layer of tissue to bring greater integrity into your blood.

Feel the vitality,

The life force capacity that your red blood cells enable.

Feel the heat in your blood and this transformative capacity in your red blood cells to turn oxygen into energy.

Feel the energy in your blood.

Even if you feel depleted,

Just tap into how the natural breath is energizing your red blood cells without doing anything,

Without breathing deeper.

Feel the heat,

The warmth of your red blood.

And now move your awareness into your muscles,

Your musculature,

The strength around your frame,

Around your skeleton.

This is the third layer of tissue,

The third layer of immunity.

And feel how the muscles of your body support and plaster your frame offering this deep confidence.

Feel how the muscles hold your spine upright as you sit.

Or if you're lying down,

Feel how the muscles encase your bones,

Plaster your bones in protection.

And in this latent strength,

The strength that's ready to be mobilized,

And feel your entire musculature as one system,

A system of support.

And now we'll move our awareness a little deeper into the fourth layer of tissue that creates our immunity,

Fat tissue,

The adipose tissue.

Noticing the padding in your body,

The softness,

The lubrication,

How the fat of your body enables this movement,

This fluidity of your joints,

Even a softness in your mind and emotions.

Let your awareness purify and wake up your fat tissue into this function of a deeper nourishment,

Deeper than the blood,

The fat that holds our capacity,

This deep restored energy,

Latent energy,

Ready to burn when needed.

And activate your fat tissue with this purification of awareness,

Activating your fat tissue to the call to action,

To be burned when needed,

When deeper energy is needed by the body.

And now move your awareness even deeper into your bones,

Feeling the bones of your legs,

Of your hips,

Your spine,

Your arms,

Your shoulders,

Your ribs,

Your skull,

And the little bones in your hands and your feet.

And the bones,

Feel how the bones give you structure,

This uprightness.

The bones have levity,

They're light and strong.

Feel your entire skeletal system,

Upright,

Ready.

And the bones themselves offer protection,

Feel the protection of your hips,

The protection that your ribs offer your heart,

That your skull offers your brain.

Sit in this field of upright protection.

Feel the strength of your bones.

And if your bones feel weak,

You can ask your bones what they need.

Nourish your bones with your awareness.

And now shift your awareness into the marrow within your bones.

This is the sixth layer of tissue of the body that forms the immune system.

So feel into the marrow of your bones and the fluid in your spine,

The spinal cord and the fluid within your spine.

And your nerves themselves,

So part of this layer of tissue includes the nerves,

The nervous system.

Noticing this network of electric energy that creates your sensitivity and receptivity that enables you to move,

To take action,

To be aware.

It's feeling this deep tissue,

The marrow.

And part of the job of the marrow is to fill space,

To fill the space in the bones.

And part of the job of the marrow is to enable communication,

Connectivity.

Feel this electric system of connectivity that enables you to move the muscles and bones,

That enables you to be sentient to feel with such great sophistication and sensitivity.

Notice how the bones protect the marrow.

And notice how the practice of meditation protects the marrow as you reduce what you're taking in through your senses and point your awareness inward,

Just like the bones point inward towards the marrow,

Protecting the marrow.

Meditation protects this level of tissue.

Feel the integrity as your awareness links into this electric field.

And now we move our awareness into the deepest of the seven,

The reproductive capacity,

The creative capacity of our human form,

The very tissue that enables consciousness to evolve generation to generation.

The reproductive fluid,

The sperm for men,

The egg for women,

Is the cell that contains the intelligence of who you are,

Of all that you've become in this lifetime and all that evolution has become in the last 13.

7 billion years.

That's what this level of tissue,

This depth of tissue,

That's what it contains,

That's what it conveys.

It's its rasamdetra.

And just feel into your own crystallization of your evolution.

What can come out of this tissue of potentiality,

Crystallized in this dynamic form,

As your reproductive fluid,

No matter what age you are?

And your awareness might naturally drop right into the bowl of your pelvis or below as you feel into your creative capacity.

If you've been depleted lately and feel run down,

This creative capacity might not feel very bolstered and that's okay.

You just allow this creative capacity to be there however it's arising.

And pointing your awareness to it starts to nourish,

Building integrity.

In our Yurveda,

The understanding is that our immune system is created out of these seven layers of tissue in their optimal state.

The way this meditation works is by passing awareness through each of the seven.

We start to feel the depth of our body.

We move our awareness through the tissue of our body.

And awareness itself,

Consciousness itself,

Creates integrity.

So rest now in the seven layers of tissue of your body,

Noticing how you're more in your body.

And allow awareness to create integrity,

This feeling of uniform energy within all cells.

And you may go back to awareness of your breath moving,

Expansion,

Opening,

Closing,

Feeling your unified self.

This immune system in our Yurveda is called Ojas.

And our Ojas has a glow,

A golden glow.

And it creates the auric field,

It creates the energy field that surrounds our body.

So as you pulse,

Notice how this field,

This glow,

How it pulsates,

It's with the natural energy of the cosmos.

Resting in your own field,

This own auric field,

The subtle energy of your immune system.

And without effort,

Notice how the field strengthens just by resting here,

By being here,

Nothing else to do.

The letting go of stress meditation.

Take your seat,

A seat of awakeness with an upright spine and a heavy pelvis.

You can allow your hands to rest on your lap with your palms facing up.

Refresh your body with breath.

If there's tension in your body,

You can let go of the tension with the sound,

Ah,

On the exhalation.

Letting yourself feel everything there is to feel for a moment.

Noticing where the mind has been lately.

What's been occupying the mind whether it's been in the past or in the future.

And it's allowing that to be.

Allowing room for whatever workings of the mind are naturally occurring.

It's allowing that to be without interference,

Without interpretation.

Now notice your emotions.

What's been going on in your emotional body?

It's taking stock without interpreting,

Just allowing,

Giving space to the emotional body.

Making room for any of the emotions that have surfaced in the last few days for you.

Making room,

Creating space.

Not interpreting,

Not getting involved.

No interference.

Just notice what it's like to have enough space to be able to give space to the mind,

To be able to give space to the emotions.

Without an attachment to how anything should be.

We're letting go of how anything should be.

Tapping into the infinite space in our consciousness and in our universe.

If your awareness is gently expanding,

That's fine.

Give plenty of space for everything to be.

Anything that arises in the mind or the emotions or even the physical sensations of your body.

Any of the twitches or itches or pains.

Just making enough space and tapping into the space that's already there.

Your consciousness is naturally expansive in nature.

We're just tapping into this nature that's giving room.

Not interfering,

Not needing to change anything.

It's giving it space,

The space that's already there in the universe,

In your consciousness.

Notice that your consciousness,

That consciousness as such,

This power of awareness that's part of you and everyone else.

Notice its nature is spacious,

Expansive.

You might notice that the thoughts,

The emotions,

The physical sensations are contractive,

The energy that's pulling inward.

Just notice that all these contractions happen within consciousness,

Within this larger expansion.

Allow this natural expansion that's already occurring to simply be resting your awareness on this is-ness of expansion,

Of spaciousness.

Letting all the stress unwind into this space.

Your very nature is this spaciousness,

Expansiveness.

You are simply resting in who you already are.
