Just let yourself get really comfortable.

You could be seated or lying down.

Just make sure your body is supported.

This way you begin this self-forgiveness meditation.

Begin by really putting your attention in all the places that your body makes contact with the ground.

Really feel all the places that your body makes contact with the ground.

Really let your weight sink into the support of the ground.

Feeling the steady,

Stable support of the ground underneath you.

And then as a way of getting present,

I'm going to take us through the senses,

Starting with sounds.

So just take a moment to notice any sounds that are present.

Maybe subtle sounds or not so subtle sounds.

Notice sounds outside of the room and also sounds inside the room.

Maybe even hearing your own breath or your own heartbeat.

And then when you're ready,

Shift your attention to your sense of taste.

Welcoming any experience of flavor or taste present.

And then shift your attention to your nostrils and welcome online your sense of smell.

Shift your attention now to your eyes,

Whether they're open or closed,

It doesn't matter.

Welcome any colors or shapes that are present either behind your eyelids or if your eyes are open in front of you.

And then let your attention shift out over the surface of your skin and really welcome your sense of touch.

Maybe feeling where the air touches your skin,

Welcoming your sense of touch.

And then from here,

I invite you to just let your attention settle on your breath for a few rounds.

Feeling how your body is breathing itself today.

And then when you feel ready,

I invite you to repeat the following statement silently inwards towards yourself.

I am a good person.

Just make space for any thoughts,

Any emotions that arise as you repeat these statements and keep directing your attention back to your breath.

I am a good person.

And letting your experience be as it is and keep focusing on your breath.

And then I invite you to repeat the following statements silently inwards towards yourself.

I forgive myself.

I forgive myself.

I forgive myself.

And focus on your breath.

You can let any thoughts,

Emotions be just as they are and keep returning to your breath.

I forgive myself.

I forgive myself.

I forgive myself.

And keep focusing on your breath.

I forgive myself.

I forgive myself.

I forgive myself.

And then really focus on your breath.

And I invite you to repeat these statements silently inwards towards yourself.

I forgive myself.

I forgive myself.

I forgive myself.

And focus on your breath.

And you can repeat this as many times as you need to.

Repeating the statement over and over again and keep focusing on your breath.

This way,

Your undoing long-held beliefs,

Thoughts about yourself,

Perhaps things that have happened in the past.

Opening up space for a different way of being in the future.

Needed it so much today. Loved the meditation. We have all done wrong things in life and I reached the place where I realize and never want to repeat the mistake I made. This meditation really helped.
