Hi loves,
This is Casey.
So welcome to this simple introduction to EFT where I will share how the practice works,
Its general benefits,
And also most importantly the tapping points so that before you dive into the other EFT tapping meditations,
You're all set up and you know exactly where to tap on so there's no confusion there.
EFT stands for emotional freedom techniques,
Also sometimes being referred to as tapping simply put.
An EFT is a powerful somatic healing technique that can help support us in all areas of our lives really from health and relationship to money blocks,
Finance,
And self love,
And deeper subconscious beliefs.
We can literally tap on anything as long as we feel there is a charge,
There is a tension,
And there is a block in that area of our life.
EFT is based on the combined principles of the East and the West.
So from the East we have the ancient Chinese acupressure points that we tap on and from the West we have modern psychology and also talk therapy contributions where as we tap we also speak the truth of how we feel.
So how it looks like in a section is that we will tap on specific meridian points throughout our body and we will also repeat certain sentences that the practitioner guides us to say.
And actually even if we don't say anything and we don't repeat any phrases while we tap on those meridian points on our body,
Just simply tapping can help us regulate our nervous system and also just release some of those emotional distress.
But if we want to work more intimately with EFT,
For example in a one on one setting,
We can possibly access some of those traumatic memories that we store in the deeper parts in our minds and also in our bodies.
And through accessing those memories and those limiting beliefs we can work to really rewire our subconscious blocks,
Our subconscious beliefs.
So now moving on to introducing each tapping point.
In my practice and in my training we tap on 12 different points.
So the first point would be the side of the hand.
I might sometimes refer to it as the karate chop point.
So just on either side of the hand,
It doesn't matter which one,
The space that's right below the pinky finger that's on the outer edge of the palm.
If you imagine you're about to karate chop something,
That would be the part of the hand that comes into contact with the object that you're karate chopping.
So this is the first point.
The second point would be the top of the head.
So again,
It doesn't matter which hand you use,
But just kind of tapping on top of the head with five fingers and you can tap on one specific point or you can make a circle tapping on the different areas on top of the head.
And then the third point is the top of the eyebrow or I sometimes refer to it as eyebrow point.
So on one side of the eyebrow,
Just where the eyebrow hair starts,
Tapping gently with two fingers and it doesn't matter which side.
If you wish,
You can also feel free to tap on both sides.
So with both hands tapping on both side of the eyebrow point.
The fourth point would be the side of the eye.
Either tapping with one hand or with both hands,
Just find that little bone that's right outside of each eye,
Kind of where that temple lies.
The fifth point is under the eye.
So under the eye with either one hand or both hands,
Tapping gently on the cheekbone.
And then the sixth point is under the nose.
Just that space between the nose and also the top lip.
Seventh point is under the mouth.
Just gently tapping with either hand on top of the chin,
So right below your lips.
The eighth point is underneath the collar bones.
So this point I would recommend tapping with both hands.
So again,
Tapping maybe with two,
Three or maybe even four fingers to that space that's right below the collar bones.
The ninth point is underneath the ribs and again,
Tapping with both hands,
Preferably right underneath the rib cage area,
Gently tapping on that space.
And the tenth point is right underneath the armpit.
I might sometimes refer to it as underneath the arm.
And that is the space around three to four inches right below the armpit.
And this,
For this point you can tap with either hand and tapping on one side would be more comfortable than tapping on both sides for this one.
The eleventh point is tapping on the wrist.
So this space is the inner wrist where there is a little crease you make when you move your hands up and down.
Right below the palm area is where we'll be tapping on.
And then the final tapping point,
The twelfth point is on top of the wrist.
So exactly where you were tapping earlier,
Now flip the hand and then tap on top of the wrist.
Again,
Kind of where that crease is,
Where when you would make any movement or motions with your hands.
So those are the twelve tapping points.
And in a tapping meditation or in a EFT section,
How it looks like is we'll just be circling and repeating those twelve tapping points.
And I will say something as the practitioner.
I'll say a statement and then I'll give you the time and the space to repeat after me.
And to begin,
You can repeat exactly what I say so that it's easier for the mind to relax.
It doesn't have to think so much.
But as you get familiar with the practice,
If it feels comfortable to do so,
You're welcome to change any wordings or complete,
Complete sentences if there's anything that don't feel true to you.
So the idea,
The intention is that whatever you're saying feels very true to your body,
It feels very true to your psyche.
So it can really work personally for you.
But don't worry about that if that feels like too much.
So you can always just repeat exactly the phrase that I use.
And also to note that while we're tapping,
It means that energy will also be moving throughout the body.
And sometimes energy wants to move out of our body so it can happen and manifest in the form of burping or laughing or crying or yawning.
Anything like that,
It just means that energy is moving and all of that are welcome.
There's no need to be afraid.
There's no need to suppress or hold that expression of yours.
By now you should be very familiar and feeling equipped to go into your tapping meditation.
If you have further questions,
You're always welcome to ask me or Google is a very,
Very useful resource as well I find.
And if not,
Enjoy your EFT practice.
