Hey,
What's going on?
Hopefully you're here for the reason that this title says,
I guess.
And just like you,
I also have my ups and downs with anxiety.
It's a.
.
.
It's a gift but a curse,
I guess.
It's interesting.
It's something we wish we never had but if we didn't have it,
Maybe we wouldn't have the brighter perspective on life that we do have.
Anyways,
Let me share with you what helps me when I'm having the anxiety,
Having a bit of a panic,
A bit of confusion where my mind is spiraling out of control and I feel like I'm not in control of my body or my vessel and you're probably on the same page right now as that but this is what I do.
It's all very simple too.
It's things that we have with us all the time.
Simple tools that we can use no matter where we are.
In a quiet room or a loud room,
On the bus,
In the car,
On the train,
Maybe even on the toilet.
It's all very simple.
And it starts with the breath.
Take a deep breath in through the nose.
Hold it.
And release.
Take another deep breath in through the nose.
Hold it.
And release.
Now we're going to do that two more times but this time we're going to fill our entire body with our breath with nice fresh air.
So,
Listen to my breath in and try to breathe in slowly through the nose but deeply as well.
Just imagine the breath coming in through the nostrils and going all the way to your feet and hold it for eight seconds and then we'll release.
We'll lean forward on our release and push all the air out of our body.
Are you ready?
Take a nice deep breath in.
Lean forward and release.
We're going to try that one more time.
We're going to try and go much deeper.
Ready?
Hold it.
And release.
That's much better.
Feel the sense of calm already.
Now let me just talk to you about a few interesting things.
One interesting thing is I have two bunnies and one of them just popped out of the closet and just run across the floor.
That's right.
They're pretty cute.
Another interesting thing that's actually more relevant to this is it looks like the other bunny is actually in the closet too.
Yeah,
It is.
That's funny.
Okay,
Apart from that,
More relevant to this.
Anxiety is confusing.
Very confusing.
But what I've learned over the last year that I've properly had anxiety is that when you're among all the noise and cluster and chaos,
It's actually impossible to see what's on the other side.
Well,
First of all,
When you're experiencing anxiety,
Don't ask yourself why.
I mean,
For me,
It's never worked.
You know,
Why do I feel anxious?
Why is this happening?
I felt fine five minutes ago.
Basically,
The reason I say don't try and answer it is because you can't.
When you're dealing with all those emotions,
There's no way that you can have a clear mind whatsoever.
So instead of trying to figure out all the question,
Just ask yourself,
Where can I feel my breath?
Focus on your breath and nothing else.
All the other questions that pop in your mind,
Just let them come and go,
Just like passing clouds.
I'm sure you've heard it before.
And the reason you can't breathe is because it works.
It's because that's the law of nature.
See,
Anxiety usually arises in times of,
I guess I could say,
When true reality doesn't match the reality in your mind.
And what that means is you're not in the present moment.
You're not grounded.
Your mind is elsewhere.
In saying that,
Try to keep in mind that past and future don't actually exist.
They only depend on each other.
So they co-depend on,
I guess,
Constructs of our imagination that we use to use towards another construct of our imagination,
Which is time.
Now,
If you remember to keep that in mind,
That right now is the only true reality.
Not yesterday,
Not tomorrow,
Right now only.
And how do you live in the present moment?
You focus on your breath.
Where do you feel your breath?
Where do you feel when your breath stops and turns into an out-breath?
And this is the point where I want to talk about silence,
Good silence,
Not bad silence,
Not dark silence,
Wise silence,
Silence that comes from within.
Everywhere you look,
Everywhere you listen,
There's silence,
But there's also noise.
So it's up to you to find the silence amongst the noise,
Which can be pretty hard,
I admit,
But the best way to find silence,
Take a deep breath in,
And this point where we're holding,
That's the silence.
Take a deep breath out.
See what I mean?
There is silence everywhere,
But you need to look for the good silence,
Not the bad silence.
I hope this has helped you gain a bit of stability,
A bit of control,
A bit of comfort,
If you will.
But remember,
Anxiety isn't the devil,
It's not the dark side.
It's actually positive.
It makes you indifferent,
Makes you unique,
Helps you think more once you overcome it.
So instead of trying to fight anxiety,
Just accept reality as it is,
Because that's all you can do.
It is what it is,
And that's what it is.
I believe anxiety is a friction against the truth.
And one interesting thing about truth is it's neutral.
Truth isn't good nor bad,
It's the truth.
You can't have bad truth and good truth,
Because,
Well,
Whatever makes that truth a good truth is just your perspective.
So truth is neutral.
Truth is fact.
And the fact is reality exists the way it does.
It cannot be changed.
Do not try and change it.
Live within the laws of nature,
Within the framework of how this existence has been created.
And when you do that,
You start floating,
You start gliding through life.
When you focus on the present,
You realize that that's all that exists,
And the present moment is all that will ever exist.
Again,
I hope this helped you.
Remember to focus on your breath and enjoy the rest of your day or the rest of your evening.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
