If it feels comfortable,
Allow your eyes to close or soften your gaze and take a slow breath in through the nose and a longer breath out through the mouth and again a slow breath in through the nose and a longer breath out through the mouth.
Breathing in,
Noticing the body.
Breathing out,
Letting the day settle.
Feel the weight of your body where it's supported.
The chair beneath you or the bed.
Your feet connected to the floor or to the surface that you're laying on.
There's nothing to do.
Nowhere else to be.
And as you breathe,
Imagine placing down whatever you've been carrying today.
Roles,
Responsibilities,
Conversations still echoing in your mind.
You don't need to solve anything right now,
So just set it gently beside you.
And bring your attention to the center of your chest.
A steady,
Quiet place within you.
A place that already knows how to listen.
And with your next breath,
Silently say to yourself,
I am here.
And as you breathe out,
Say to yourself,
This moment is enough.
And allow yourself to arrive fully into this space,
Into the next part of your journey.
There is no such thing as a safe space.
We all exist in the real world.
We all carry scars and,
Of course,
Wounds.
And this space seeks to turn down the volume of the outside world.
This space seeks to amplify voices that have to fight to be heard elsewhere.
This space will not be perfect.
It will not always be what we wish it to be.
But it is your space.
And so breathe.
Breathe in and breathe out.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes and bring your attention back to the room.
