Just Thinking with Rumi On Feeling Lost and Tired You say,
I'm not myself.
I'm trying to take myself back.
What me are we trying to be?
Relax,
Divine beloved.
You are there.
You're still in charge.
When things seem to be out of control,
The universe is still in divine control,
Or divinely controlled if you prefer.
You're exactly where you're supposed to be.
You,
At some point either before you came to this life,
Or at some significant point along the way,
Envisioned and spoke of the vision of your desired self.
You're on the way.
This is the way.
The way is teaching you.
The way is strengthening you.
Rumi said,
I know you're tired,
But this is the way.
Relax,
Divine beloved.
Rest in the moment.
See all that is around you.
See everything,
But don't engage with everything.
Just be still and do only what is needed for now,
For this moment.
Again,
Rumi said,
I know you're tired,
But this is the way.
Divine beloved,
The way is being internally still while the external things move around you.
Intuitively,
You'll know when to engage.
You'll know the moment,
But don't wear yourself out in the meantime.
You'll need all your strength for laughter,
For the new song you'll sing or write,
The new dance,
The gift you'll give to the world.
Be still now so that you'll be rested and ready for the joy.
In fact,
As soon as you dismiss the noise and the chatter,
As you're still,
You'll notice the joy in the present moment.
Divine beloved,
You don't take yourself back or find yourself.
You've always been there,
Inside waiting to be your divinely wonderful,
Thoughtful,
Fun,
Sassy,
Clever,
Amazing God spark in the world.
Taking yourself back,
Be still for just a little bit and let yourself speak to you.
You'll know exactly what to do.
