As human beings, we have a tendency to cling to thoughts, beliefs and past experiences (often subconsciously), even if it's not in our best interest. We may hold onto emotions, fears or beliefs that may have served us at one point, but which eventually keep us from stepping into our happiest, most fulfilled selves. Sometimes these show up as phrases or patterns we have repeated over and over. Or, they could manifest as an all-too-familiar feeling - like worry, anger, or self-criticism - which can keep us from taking steps to create our own happiness. This meditation is designed to help you let go of that which no longer serves you, creating space for new energy, abundance, and joy. Hello,

This is Caroline Paradise with Clarity Wellness.

You are listening to a guided meditation about letting go.

I'll now invite you to close your eyes,

Settling yourself into the chair,

Making any small movements you need to be comfortable,

And taking a moment to notice your posture,

Allowing the back to be upright and tall,

Shoulders slightly dropped and back,

Opening the chest and allowing the heart center to receive,

Becoming aware of the cushion beneath your body,

Feeling the ground beneath your feet,

Supporting you and connecting you to the earth.

And we'll begin by taking a slow,

Deep breath in and feel your body begin to relax,

Bringing your awareness to your breathing and allowing the breath to signal to your body that it can,

For now,

Simply relax,

Giving yourself permission to let go of anything that happened before you arrived in this moment and letting go of anything you anticipate happening after you're finished here,

Letting it sink in that,

Right now,

There's nowhere you have to go,

Nothing you have to do.

Just allow yourself to simply be.

Feeling the body becoming more and more relaxed,

Allowing the forehead,

Temples,

Jaw,

And mouth to soften,

Releasing the neck,

The shoulders,

The chest,

And the upper back,

Feeling that sense of relaxation flow down to your lower back,

Allowing the belly to soften,

Relaxing the glutes,

The thighs,

The knees,

The shins and calves,

Feeling this wave of peaceful relaxation flow all the way down to your feet and out through the tips of your toes,

Bringing your awareness now back to your breathing,

Noticing how the breath feels moving through your body,

Observing the air as it enters your nose,

Cool on the inhale,

Warm on the exhale,

Feel it travel from the nose to the back of the throat and down to the lungs and the chest,

Becoming aware of the lungs accepting and releasing the breath easily and effortlessly,

And noticing the gentle rise and fall of the belly at the top of each full nourishing breath,

Remembering that thoughts are a normal part of meditation and that the goal isn't to remove all thought from your mind,

But rather to allow them to be there,

To pass through without following them,

Analyzing them,

Or judging them.

Simply allowing them to exist somewhere in the periphery of your mind while the awareness of your breath resides in the foreground,

Expanding your awareness to your body now,

Allowing it to relax even more and settle in,

And on each inhale,

Imagine your breath sending nourishment and love into every single cell of your body,

And on each exhale,

Give your cells permission to release anything they may be holding onto that is no longer serving you,

Accepting positive,

Loving,

Healing energy on the inhale and releasing any old or stagnant energy on the exhale.

You may find you're visualizing this energy in a particular way.

You may see it as a color,

Perhaps one color on the inhale and a different one on the exhale,

Or you may experience this receiving and letting go more as a feeling rather than a visualization,

Something you feel within and around your body,

Or maybe it's just a knowing somewhere deep inside that whatever needs to be released is letting go and trusting in the wisdom of your highest self.

It doesn't matter how you experience it.

Simply allowing yourself to rest in this space of accepting and letting go is all that matters.

Anytime you notice the mind has wandered,

Just gently and easily guide your awareness back to your breath,

Allowing and honoring any emotions that may come up during this process without judgment,

Without trying to push them out.

Sometimes we hold onto things on a cellular level that we don't even realize.

They could be memories,

Past experiences,

Or even limiting thoughts or beliefs.

Letting go of these beliefs or thoughts or memories can trigger emotion,

And that's perfectly okay if they do.

Simply accepting and feeling any emotion that arises fully and honoring it as a part of going through this human experience,

Starting to bring your awareness now back to your breath.

We'll slowly begin to bring our attention back to this time and place,

Keeping the eyes closed,

Taking a nice,

Deep,

Cleansing breath,

Noticing how your body feels,

How your energy feels.

Taking another deep breath and sending yourself gratitude for making time to nourish and honor and restore yourself today,

Slowly returning your attention to the sounds of the room,

Beginning to feel your muscles reawakening as you notice the chair or mat supporting your body,

The floor beneath you.

You may want to wiggle your fingers and your toes,

Roll your ankles,

Your wrists,

Your shoulders,

Maybe even stretch,

Slowly,

Gently coming back to normal conscious awareness.

I'll now ring a soft bell three times,

After which I'll invite you to gently open your eyes and be in full consciousness back in the room.
