We are all part of a family system, a kind of collective consciousness. These family energy fields contain collected data of the past generations of people, places and events that can affect our lives today. Through our DNA we inherit an emotional legacy, our epigenetics. This can have a tremendous effect on our lives as well as our children‘s lives. This meditation will provide the first step toward clearing and balancing your emotional and mental inheritance. A path to inner peace.

Hi,

This is Carla van Welsum and this is the meditation,

Honor your ancestors and empower yourself.

It is a guided process,

So you will be guided through the words that I am saying and it is important that you lay down very relaxed.

So that's your first thing to do.

Of course you cannot listen to this when you're driving.

So take a moment to find a place that you can be very relaxed and lay down and I will do with you one breathing that is coming from the polyvagal series and have a very calming impact on your brain.

You will take in four counts through your nose,

Six counts you will hold on and eight counts you will exhale through the mouth,

Through your mouth.

Okay,

So here we go.

Take in four counts two,

Three,

Four,

Hold on two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Six and exhale two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

And now we are going to the process.

So surrender to the whole process.

Picture in your mind's eye,

In your mind,

Yourself standing.

You feel comfortable,

You feel good.

You're just standing there and now your picture across from you,

Your parents.

You picture to the left across from you,

Your dad looking at you and to his left side,

Your mom.

So you form a kind of a triangle.

Your parents standing next to each other.

You look at them,

You see your father left and your mother right and you stand as nearby or far away that is pleasant for you,

Comfortable and you are there standing without any judgment.

Whatever happened in your relationship or it didn't happen,

There are many ways to look at that and at this moment we do not want to have there any judgment.

So try to be as open minded,

Open hearted as you can be with the process and if you don't feel comfortable,

Just step a little bit back.

Then you position behind your father,

Behind him on the right,

His father looking at him at his back and next to your grandfather,

Your grandmother to the left also standing behind your father and you do the same thing with your mother.

Behind your mother on the right side,

You position her father and next to him,

His wife,

Your grandmother.

So they have their own small triangle standing behind your parents.

It doesn't matter if you have never met them,

If they're alive or they passed,

It all doesn't matter because they're all part of the bigger system,

Which is the family of a few generations.

Then you position behind your grandparents,

Their parents and you do the same thing first on the right man left to him,

His wife and you do that on and on and on and you get eight grandparents aligned next to each other behind your four grandparents.

So these are your eight great grandparents.

Even if you never met them,

It doesn't matter.

You know they were there,

Otherwise you would not have been here today.

Behind your great grandparents,

You position their parents and you have a role with 16 people and behind them,

You position 32,

Their grandparents.

You don't have to count them because then you're much too busy.

You just imagine by intention,

You ask,

You position them to your grandparents and great grandparents and great grandparents and behind them to show up.

So behind your parents,

You will see slowly but surely a flat triangle with people,

An ocean of people in a way.

It gets very big,

But you don't have to position them all.

They will show up or not.

We care here about four,

Five,

Six,

Seven,

Eight generations.

So now you have done that.

You first look at your parents and you sense how they look at you.

You sense if there are things between you,

Where there's only love,

Where there's pain or resentment or any other feelings that show up.

Don't judge your feelings and allow them to show up because they are part of you.

And then you look behind your parents,

Past your parents,

You see your grandparents,

Your great grandparents and so on.

And you see this ocean of people.

And you notice any sensation.

Maybe you sense colors,

Vibrations,

Feelings.

Maybe it gives you a great feeling to look at them and maybe you get all kinds of feelings.

See what happens.

And then you go with your attention back to your parents and you bow for them.

You really bow for them and you say,

Thank you for giving me the greatest gift in my life,

Which is my life.

And for that what was missing,

If you feel things were missing,

I can take care of myself.

You might feel pain and resentment.

You might have experienced abuse,

Lack of nurturing,

But it is important for you that you can look beyond that pain and find the gratitude for your life,

Which is in your hands now.

After you bow for your parents,

You stand up straight and you speak to your ancestors.

Your parents are your ancestors as well,

But they have a special position because they are your parents.

So you look at your grandparents and great grandparents and all the others and you think them.

You say,

Thank you for your perseverance because that is why I'm here.

And I send you compassion for your suffering if you have suffered and for all that you went through.

And I know that some of you or many of you carry all kinds of unhealed trauma.

It could be traumas from unanswered love,

Losing loved ones,

Going through war,

Being excluded,

Being expelled from countries.

So many things are possible.

And you share with them your feelings of compassion.

And if you feel any emotion,

Express that out loud.

And also it is very important that you don't burden your ancestors,

But that you tell them that if you carry any trauma for them,

That doesn't belong to you and you want to send it back or give it back where it belongs because none of the traumas of your ancestors would be healed by you carrying it.

That is not the case.

There is more healing to be found by acknowledging the suffering and feeling compassion for that and sensing love and compassion and honoring them for their perseverance,

Which is the other side of the coin of fixed and pulled and giving up.

You might have inherited beautiful traits of some of them,

Maybe your own strength,

Maybe talents.

So let your heart fill with gratitude for all that is.

And then you look again at your parents and you say,

Please look kindly at me if I turn around and look at my path.

Please support me in all I do and bless me in all I do and want to do in my life.

And you turn around and you feel the intense support behind you.

Even if the relationship with your parents wasn't the best one,

Know that deep down in their heart and their souls,

They do love you and they want the best for you.

All of our suffering and issues when we are alive on the planet are most of the time the result of what everybody went through and that closed their heart or their soul.

So you take from all this the most positive components and you're standing in front of all those people who are behind you and are supporting you symbolically.

And you look in front of you and you see your past,

You see your passions,

You see your talents,

Your opportunities in life and you feel great.

You feel very empowered.

You feel that life is in your hands and that you can create whatever you like and whatever you want.

Whatever is in your own needs and your own area of interest.

You feel deep love for yourself and you look forward and you might see children,

Your children if you have them or the future children or grandchildren.

Can you see your life lying in front of you and it gives you a deep fulfillment and you feel liberated from ties that you didn't know that you had.

You feel free.

You take in a deep breath.

You take in the feelings of empowerment and you put them in your heart and you feel deep gratitude for who you are,

Who you became and who you will become.

And you know that this picture of strength and creation will stay with you.

You're just anchored in your heart as a tangible memory that you can always go back to.

Feeling the support of our ancestors including our parents regardless if they supported us during our lives before gives us a lot of strength and brings peace to the family and the system.

Take this in.

Again focus on gratitude.

Take that in and then you can end the meditation at any time.

Be well and I love to hear from you.
