Welcome to this guided meditation for cultivating feelings of gratitude.
During this practice you will develop an open and gentle feeling of thankfulness for all that is good in your life and for the gift of divine life itself.
Cultivating an attitude of gratitude can help shed light on difficult feelings and bring to focus all the blessings we do have rather than focusing on scarcity or what you don't have.
Let's start the practice by settling ourselves in a relaxed and comfortable posture.
Take a few deep calming breaths to relax and center,
Feeling grounded,
Awake and aware.
Allow yourself to feel more and more relaxed.
Ever so gently close your eyes and allow yourself to deeply relax.
Let your awareness move to your immediate environment.
All the things you can smell,
Touch,
See,
Hear,
Say to yourself and affirm,
For this I am grateful.
Next,
Bring to mind people or loved ones that are close to you,
Your friends,
Family,
Your partner or perhaps a colleague.
Say to yourself and affirm,
For these people I am grateful.
Next,
Turn your attention onto your precious self.
You are a unique individual blessed with an imagination,
The ability to communicate,
To learn from the past and plan for the future.
You have the ability to overcome any pain you have experienced or are currently experiencing.
Say to yourself and affirm,
For this I am grateful.
Finally,
Rest in the awareness that life is precious,
A precious gift.
Realize and accept that abundance and prosperity is what you were born into.
You have the gift of health,
Wellbeing,
Culture and access to spiritual teachings.
Now say to yourself and affirm,
For this I am grateful.
You are feeling so peaceful and calm,
Perfectly safe and serene.
Notice how relaxed your body is feeling right now.
Memorize this feeling,
Let it sink in.
Know that this feeling is yours and can be created at any time.
Now bring your attention back to the room or space you're in.
Feel the floor or surface beneath you,
Feeling grounded,
Feeling rooted.
To end this practice,
I'm going to count from five to one.
As I count,
You will progressively begin feeling alert and alive.
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two and one.
Begin to stretch and move slowly,
Gently.
Open your eyes,
Feeling so relaxed,
Peaceful and alert.
Feeling better than you did before.
Namaste.
