There are so many things in life that may bring us down and cause us to be harder on ourselves than we ever would another living soul. I've found mirror work so helpful to coming back to loving myself so I've created this meditation as a stepping stone toward the real thing. Will you join me?

Hello and welcome.

My name is Candy Foster.

I am a mindfulness meditation instructor and a Reiki Master Teacher.

Mirror work has been a huge help for me in my physical and spiritual journey.

There are so many things in our lives that can bring us down and allow us to be harder on ourselves than we ever would another living soul.

That being said,

When I began looking myself in the eye and saying I love you was a real chore.

That is exactly why I've created this meditation as a tool to help you get there.

Like a little stepping stone.

This is not to take the place of the actual work of looking yourself in the eye,

In the mirror,

In your true self.

Instead,

It is meant to help you get there.

So are you ready?

Let's begin.

Find a comfortable place where you can have a nice straight spine and just settle in.

Take a deep breath in and out.

Breathe in deeply and out fully.

And one more deep breath in and one more full breath out.

Come back to a more natural breath and allow yourself to be soothed by its rhythm.

Close your eyes,

Feel your body and your mind.

As you relax,

Release all judgement and self deprivation.

Allow yourself to step aside and just observe.

Start to imagine yourself sitting in front of a mirror.

Look deeply into your own eyes and see the perfect spiritual being that you are.

Living this life the best way you know how.

Take this moment to acknowledge how hard on yourself you are.

And now let yourself be.

Look yourself in the eye deeply and say to yourself,

I love you.

You are beautiful.

If this comes too hard,

Then say I like you.

You are beautiful.

You have to say you are beautiful.

Breathe in deeply and do it again.

I love you.

You are beautiful.

You are beautiful.

Breathe in deeply and say I love you.

You are worthy.

Breathe in deeply and say I love you.

You are smart.

You are productive.

You start to incorporate the things that you usually emphasize yourself about.

You are intelligent,

Caring,

Loving,

Patient,

Ambitious.

No matter what it is,

Allow yourself to approve.

Know that you are worthy of this love.

You are a divine being created perfectly as you are.

Be proud of who you are and love yourself.

Now as you breathe,

Start at the top and say to yourself,

I approve of my head.

I approve of my ears.

I approve of my nose.

I approve of my lips and chin.

I approve of my neck and my shoulders.

If you like,

You can replace I approve of what I like.

I love my arms.

I love my hands and fingers.

I like my back and my spine.

I like my stomach.

I love my shoulders.

I love my thighs.

I love my knees,

My shins and calves.

I love my ankles.

I love my feet and my toes.

I love my entire body.

I love my heart and soul.

I love my spirit.

I love my life and all that I bring to it.

And with that,

Think of all the things you have brought to your life.

Relationships,

Careers,

Children and more.

Think of all of the things big and small.

Realize how amazing you are.

Now gaze back into this mirror and look at the whole you and say,

I love you.

I love you.

I love you.

Just take this time to love yourself.

It is now time to come back to the here and now.

Take a deep breath in and release.

Start to acknowledge your surroundings and bring some small into your body.

Open your eyes when you are ready.

Thank you so much for joining me today.

Just the fact that you are here proves that you are worthy of your love.

Thank you for being you.

Keep coming back to this until you feel comfortable doing it in front of your actual mirror.

Congratulations for looking yourself in the eye and loving yourself.

Namaste.
