Good morning.

You may be practicing this meditation from your bed or you may have already risen and have found a comfortable seat.

If you're sitting,

You can sit upright with the spine tall,

Hands resting gently on your lap or maybe placing one hand on the heart,

One hand on the belly,

Closing your eyes or softening your gaze.

Taking a deep breath in through the nose and let it go with a slow,

Soft exhalation.

Taking another deep breath in,

Feeling the air expand within you and this time exhaling through the mouth,

Allowing yourself to arrive fully in this moment.

There is no rush.

There is nowhere else to be.

Just allow yourself to be here.

Before the day unfolds,

Before movement and thought begin to carry you forward,

Let yourself begin with stillness.

Take another deep breath in through the nose,

Again exhaling through the mouth.

Feel yourself settle just a little bit more.

Before the momentum of the day begins,

Allow yourself to trust this quiet here.

Allow yourself to lean into this moment of pause,

Not as an interruption to your day but as a beginning.

Resting here for a few moments,

Feeling the natural rhythm of your breath.

Each inhale,

A quiet opening.

Each exhale,

A soft release.

There is nothing to do right now,

Nothing to fix,

Nothing to achieve.

Remembering that you are not separate from nature but a part of it and like all things in nature,

You move through rhythms,

Rhythms of energy and stillness,

Of expansion and contraction,

Of doing and being.

Trees do not rush to bloom before the season is ready.

The ocean does not resist the tide as it pulls away.

Even the moon disappears into darkness before it returns to full light.

Everything in nature honors its cycles,

Its pauses.

And yet,

We so often push past our own need for stillness,

Believing that momentum is the only way forward.

But what if we remembered that pause is not a stop?

That stillness is not stagnation?

That within rest,

Life is quietly gathering its strength.

Like the breath between words,

The quiet before the wave crashes,

The stillness of the moon before it begins to grow again,

You too are allowed to rest.

And remember that this pause isn't just a moment in time.

It's an invitation to carry the stillness with you into your day.

Each time you feel the rush or the pressure of the day,

Know that you can return to the calm rhythm of your breath,

The quiet within you.

The world will move around you,

But you are rooted,

Steady,

And aligned with nature's own cycles.

You are not expected to do everything at once.

Taking one final deep breath in,

Exhaling through the mouth,

Letting go of any need to hurry,

To rush,

Staying here for as long as you need.

And when you're ready to enter your day,

You can slowly open your eyes and allow yourself to step into this day,

Grounded in the stillness you've invited,

Carrying it forward with you,

Knowing that pause and breath is always available to you,

Anytime you need it,

Within you,

And all around you.

Thank you for joining me in this meditation,

And I wish you a beautiful day.

Namaste.

This is exactly what I needed to hear. I have been resting since December. I was growing impatient with myself. Pausing is not stopping changed my whole perspective. Thank you for helping me to remember and to honor this time of still ess within me.
