Hello and welcome to this practice.
Today we are going to be shaking and unwinding to release excess energy and come back to a place of calm and centeredness.
We will begin this practice standing.
So find a space that's free of any clutter and distractions.
Begin with your feet firmly planted about hips width apart.
Taking mountain pose with your spine nice and tall as though there is a string coming out of the crown of your head pulling you upright down the center of the body.
Big breath in,
Sigh it out.
Feel your feet beneath you,
Feel the connection to the floor.
Maybe wiggle your toes a little bit,
Spread them so that they are firmly planted on the ground beneath you.
So we are going to begin shaking just by gently moving up and down on the balls of the feet.
So your hands are just down at your sides and you are going to begin bringing your weight onto the balls of the feet and then just allowing yourself to bounce up and down really gently.
So this practice is going to increase as this wave of energy from this bouncing moves all the way up the body and then will enhance the shaking.
So just to start we are bringing in these gentle little bounces letting yourself have fun with this,
Letting it be a practice that also brings a sense of joy.
Just noticing this vibration,
This undulation moving from the root all the way up the body.
Noticing how your hips and your pelvis come more into this shaking.
You will begin to feel it move up into the chest,
Into the heart space.
Your body may want to sway kind of back and forth or front to back while you are doing this.
Just let it go.
There is no perfect way to do this.
We are just really allowing the body to take over.
Noticing your breath,
The quality,
The speed,
Just breathing in the nose and out the mouth if you can.
Allowing your breath to be long and calm.
And as this bouncing starts to shake the vibration in the body you can kind of bring in some additional shaking into the arms.
You can either start with one and then move into the other or you can shake them both at the same time.
You are using a bit of intentional energy at first and then just letting everything begin to kind of move with its own sense of inertia and motion.
If you would like to you can intensify this by adding in more of the energy.
You can pick each foot up off the ground and shake out your legs more vigorously.
Just noticing as the energy builds in the body how it wants to be discharged.
You can do this practice of shaking for as long as it feels good to the body.
We are going to stay here for just about another minute.
You can even bring your upper body and your head and neck into it.
Letting it be wild,
Letting it just kind of take over and take you somewhere else.
Shaking,
Shaking.
Let your voice come in if you'd like.
Just remembering to stay intentional with your breath,
Keeping in connection to the ground.
And slowly begin to slow down all of this movement in the body.
Maybe begin just rocking back and forth.
Really tuning into the legs and the bottom half of the body,
Connection to the floor.
Now we're going to unwind.
Think of this just as intuitive organic movements of the body.
We're still standing.
And we're just going to slowly bring in a gentle flow,
Moving the body in different circular motions.
You can start by moving the whole body in a circle.
And maybe bringing your arms into it,
Remembering to move the head,
Looking up,
Feeling down at the floor.
This is a beautiful,
Really flowy,
Intuitive movement in the body.
Noticing where your breath is.
Is it shallow?
Is it deep in the belly?
Bringing in some awareness to the shift in your energy from where it was at the beginning of this practice.
Maybe taking a moment to orient around your space,
Just looking into all of the corners,
Looking up to the sky,
Noticing each object that draws your attention.
Noticing any smells in the air,
Any sounds that you hear outside of this recording.
And when you are ready,
You can come back to Mountain Pose.
Place a hand on the heart,
Maybe another hand on the belly.
Breathing gently in through the nose,
Letting it go with the sigh.
Allowing this practice to bring you a sense of calm,
Bring you a sense of centering,
Discharge any anxious or excess energy whenever you are feeling a lot of charge moving through the body.
Thank you for listening and I hope you found this supportive.
