Hello and welcome.

This is your breath practice for energy.

So this is gonna be a perfect exercise to start your morning with before you're going into a project.

Any moment that you need a little more fire in your day,

A little pep in your step,

This is an activating breath practice.

So the intention here is to excite and mobilize your nervous system.

I say this because this practice essentially acts like a gas pedal,

An accelerator.

So if you're already feeling hyper-mobilized,

If you're feeling a lot of anxiety,

If you're feeling a lot of buzz in the body,

This may not be super supportive.

If you're feeling low energy,

If you're feeling kind of stuck,

Like you just need to get it together,

This will be very supportive as it's bringing in lots of fire.

And we will be utilizing two different types of breath in this practice.

First,

We'll be starting with the fire breath,

Which is a rapid breathing in and out through the nose,

Engaging the stomach.

And then we will use a burst breath,

Which will utilize four short bursts in and then also out.

So I'll explain these a little bit more.

Starting first with our fire breath.

We're gonna be breathing rapidly in and out both through the nose.

So the inhale is very effortless.

We're just breathing in,

Allowing our air to go into the stomach.

So imagine that there is a balloon in your abdomen.

And as you breathe in,

Your stomach will inflate.

And then as you breathe out,

Also through the nose,

You're going to pull your stomach up and in.

And the exhale is going to be a brisk push through the nose.

So it's going to sound something like this.

So as you can hear,

The inhale is not very audible.

It's the exhale that you're hearing those puffs of air.

Because as you breathe out through the nose,

When you kind of pull that stomach up and in,

Like you're flicking up the abdominal muscles,

That's forcing even more air out through the nostrils.

So as you breathe in,

You're going to feel the air coming out of your stomach.

And then as you breathe in,

That's forcing even more air out through the nostrils.

We will be utilizing this fire breath for two different rounds.

We're going to start with one round of 20 breaths,

Just to get you used to it.

And then we're going to double that and go into 40 breaths.

And after those two rounds of fire breath,

We're going to go into the burst breath.

And this is very simple.

It's a rapid breathing technique,

Which will utilize four quick breaths in the nose,

Followed by four quick exhales out the mouth with your lips pursed.

Kind of like you're blowing on a dandelion.

So the four quick in the nose,

Out the mouth,

In,

In,

In,

In,

Out,

Out,

Out,

Out.

And we will be finishing the practice with this breath for about three minutes,

Followed by a deep breath in together,

Which we will hold at the top for as long as it's comfortable to you,

And then release.

I'll be guiding you throughout this practice.

I'll be helping to keep track of the counts of breaths.

So you don't need to worry about any of that.

Just focus on your breath and feel the energy moving through your body.

I will also be pointing us back to our intention of this practice,

Which is to cultivate energy.

So we're going to be working with the mantras,

I am alive and I am energized.

So let's begin.

We're going to be doing this practice in a seated position.

So find a place that is comfortable,

Letting your breath settle into your body,

Just allowing your breathing to be normal for the moment.

We're not changing anything yet.

Just noticing how it moves in and out of your body,

Feeling the ground beneath you,

Anchoring into that support,

Into that firmness,

Trusting that you are held.

Just taking a moment to scan your body,

Tuning into how it feels from the inside out,

Noticing any sensations of tingling,

Of heat,

Of cold,

Any tension,

Areas of constriction,

And also looking for areas of openness,

Of expansion.

Remembering that we are approaching ourselves from a place of compassion,

From the position of the observer or the witness,

Meaning we're not placing any judgment on ourselves.

We are just observing with curiosity and with love.

So sinking into your body,

Bringing your awareness deeper into your being,

Dropping out of the structured mind into the wisdom of the body,

Holding onto the energy of I am energized,

Beginning with our fire breath,

Big breath in together,

Begin exhaling quickly while pulling in the belly.

Inhale,

Exhale,

Exhale,

Exhale,

Exhale,

Exhale,

Exhale,

Exhale,

Exhale,

Exhale,

Exhale,

Exhale,

Exhale,

Exhale,

Exhale,

Exhale,

Exhale,

Exhale,

Big breath in again together.

Hold for a moment,

Letting that go whenever you're ready.

That was our practice round,

Just to get the feel for that breath.

So now here we go,

We're gonna do the whole thing.

We're gonna be doing this for 40 breaths first and then do another round of 50 breaths and then we'll move straight into our burst breath.

Okay,

Let's do it.

I am energized.

I am alive.

Big breath in.

Staying with this breath,

Really pulling that stomach up and in as you push more of the breath out of the lungs,

Out of the body,

Almost imagining that you are pulling in energy and breathing out stagnation.

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Big breath in.

Hold at the top.

Feeling all the energy moving through the body,

Knowing that any tingles are totally natural,

Feeling yourself really waking up and then releasing with a sigh.

Whenever it is good for you.

Falling back into a normal breath pattern just for a moment here as you reconnect with the ground.

Maybe place a hand over your heart,

Reconnecting with your body,

Really feeling present in yourself and in this moment.

And here we go again.

For round two,

Big breath in.

Fire breath.

Keep going,

Even if it starts to feel a little bit uncomfortable.

Knowing that if you feel like you're losing your breath,

You're losing your breath,

Knowing that if you feel like you're losing your pace,

Just come back to it.

Just keep coming back to the breath.

Don't let the mind interfere and take over your experience.

I am alive.

I am energized.

Letting this truth run through your body as we're wrapping up this round.

Keep going.

10,

Nine,

Eight,

Seven,

Six,

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Big inhale together.

Hold it at the top,

Seeing if maybe you can hold it for a little bit longer than the last round.

Keeping the eyes closed,

Keeping the eyes closed,

Tuning into the body.

Letting it go whenever you're ready.

Releasing it with a sigh.

Ah.

You're shaking out the body a bit,

Moving the head left to right.

Noticing what is present.

Noticing how the body feels just for a moment.

Reposition if you need to,

But re-anchor into the ground,

Come back into your seated position.

We're gonna be moving into our burst breath.

Again,

This will be four breaths in the nose,

In,

In,

In,

In,

In,

In,

In,

In,

In,

In,

In,

In,

In,

In,

Four breaths out the mouth with pursed lips,

Out,

Out,

Out,

Out.

Big breath in.

In.

Let it go.

Let's go.

In.

In.

In.

In.

In.

In.

In.

In.

In.

In.

In.

In.

In.

In.

In.

In.

In.

In.

In.

Out.

Out.

Out.

In.

In.

In.

Out.

Out.

Out.

Out.

We're gonna be doing this for two minutes.

So staying with this pattern.

Knowing that if you need to slow it down,

You can.

Just stick with it.

Continue moving this breath in and out of the body at this rapid pace coming back to our intention of energizing the body,

Energizing the mind,

Energizing the spirit.

I am alive.

I am alive.

I am energized.

We've got about a minute,

Less than a minute to go.

So keep with it.

What are you calling in today?

What are you releasing and removing?

Keep going,

We're almost there.

We've got about 30 seconds to go.

Stick with it.

Inhale,

Energize,

Exhale,

Release.

Inhale,

Energize,

Exhale,

Release.

For the last five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Big breath in.

Hold it at the top.

Holding,

Holding the longest hold that you've had so far.

Letting all this energy build,

Build,

Build,

Build.

Feel it.

Pushing your lungs to the edge.

Letting it go.

Ah,

Really audible sigh out.

Shaking the whole body,

Shaking the arms,

Shaking the legs,

Maybe even kind of moving the body out.

Twisting motion,

Stand up if you need to.

And take a moment here quickly to just connect and come back into yourself.

So place the hand on the heart.

Feel it beating beneath your hand.

Have both of your feet on the floor,

Whether you're standing or you're seated.

And then you're gonna take a moment here to just connect and come back into yourself.

On the floor,

Whether you're standing or you're seated,

Just wiggling the feet,

Feeling this full connection of the root chakra at the floor,

At the earth,

All the way up through the body,

Through the crown.

Feeling the energy,

Loving the energy.

Ah,

And we are complete.

You did it.

That was amazing.

You did it exactly right.

Come back to this practice whenever you are feeling the need for some energy,

Some inspiration,

Some mobilization,

Remembering that all of this is available to you through the power of your breath.

And that is it.

Until next time,

Goodbye.
