Transcript
Hello,
And welcome to your meditation,
The theme of while being appreciate you being here,
And also taking this time to connect to a moment of peace in your day,
To slow down and return home within yourself.
We've been exploring in the month of August,
Our connection with the animal kingdom.
Animals share so very much with us.
They share the same home with us here on earth.
They show us the natural way of being and also act as messengers,
Helping guide us.
The animal kingdom is really a part of our family.
And lately,
The community have been receiving messages consciously and subconsciously through our dreams,
Messages from the whale.
And so today,
We are being guided in this meditation by these majestic,
Beautiful souls.
Whales have been around for over 50 million years.
They are truly our ancestors.
And when you look at any part of time,
All cultures have some type of reference to the whale.
For example,
To the Maori tribe in New Zealand,
Whales are seen as the descendants of the Tangaroa.
They are the god of the oceans.
Supernatural beings,
Guides.
We also see whales appear in the migration legends of many tribes,
Always indicating auspicious places to settle for their people.
Whales do carry so much wisdom from generation to generation.
They're also known to have special receptors and sensors that allow them to process complex emotions,
Practice compassion,
And feel love and interact socially.
These senses developed over 30 million years ago,
Much longer than humans.
And when you reflect on the whale,
What words come to mind?
Perhaps words like peaceful,
Majestic,
Wise,
Kind.
You may be familiar with the saying,
Put yourself in their shoes.
By doing so,
We can better understand and empathize what that person or that other is experiencing.
And by practicing empathy,
We can deepen our sense of compassion.
So in this practice,
Guided by the whale,
We'll be putting ourselves in their fins.
And so I am excited and delighted to take you on this inner voyage through the deep ocean blue,
Guided by the wise,
The majestic whale.
So with any journey that we take together,
Know that this is your own journey.
I am simply facilitating a connection with yourself,
Helping you come back home.
You may want to follow my prompts,
But you may also find that this journey takes you elsewhere.
Allow yourself to be open and trust in the flow,
As long as you feel that intuitive connection.
It feels good.
It feels right to you.
Go where your journey takes you.
Know that this is a safe place,
And you are being guided with the utmost love and kindness.
So with that,
You can go ahead and find a comfortable posture.
We will be meditating together for about 20 minutes or so.
You may want to sit on some cushions,
Maybe lay down if that feels good to you.
Go ahead and find a posture that allows you to be at rest,
Relaxed,
Yet aware of where you are at this time.
So take your time.
Be gentle with yourself.
Be mindful with how you start your meditative journey.
You may be coming from something,
Somewhere.
Let those sensations,
Those experiences start to slow down.
Let the thoughts start to wind down as you continue to arrive into your meditation.
Know that this is your space and your time.
There's nowhere else to be.
There's nothing else to do.
So really give yourself this space of peace that you need.
I invite you to begin to take some deep conscious breaths here.
Start to notice your breath entering into your nose and your breath exiting,
Perhaps through the mouth.
Let your breath help soften your muscles,
Soften your mind so that you can really melt and surrender into this beautiful present moment.
I invite you here to take your beautiful,
Long,
Deep breaths,
Starting to ground into your space,
Calm in your body.
The thoughts may come and that's perfectly fine.
Simply stay with your breath.
Let it bring you back to your center,
Back to the here and now.
Continue to breathe at your own natural pace.
See if there are any other areas in the body that can relax.
Bring breath to any spaces that perhaps are holding tension.
Let it go.
Allow yourself to be free,
At peace.
Feel the fresh new life force with each breath that you take.
Notice yourself really settling in here into this beautiful practice.
And stay with your breath.
Let it move in and out,
Just like a wave,
Softly ebbing and flowing with each breath.
And with your next cycle of breath,
I'd like you to bring your attention to your forehead,
To your third eye.
Perhaps you envision your breath awakening this space in your body.
Letting this water start to circulate over your forehead.
And with your next breath cycle,
I'd like you to envision that it's a bright summer day off the coast of British Columbia,
Canada.
Sea gulls are flapping about.
The air is clean.
And the breeze is cleansing,
Refreshing,
With a touch of saltiness,
Also helping cleanse this space.
Imagine that you are floating on the surface of the sparkling aqua blue and sea green waves.
Your 16-meter long body,
All 66,
000 pounds,
Peacefully rocking to the ebb and flow of the ocean.
Feeling a gentle sway,
Up and down between the waves,
Feeling at home.
You are a majestic adult humpback whale.
So take a few moments here to settle into your being.
And you sense that there is an intuitive call,
A call to dive down.
And when you are ready,
You begin to submerge your body headfirst,
Swimming deeper and deeper into the comforts of your home.
Flipping your fluke,
Your tail,
Up and down,
You sense the density of the waters against your tubercles,
The large fist-sized bumps on the tip of your head as you gain speed.
Each tubercle informing you of the drop in water temperature as you glide 20,
30,
50 meters down with such ease.
Your sheer volume of blubber compared to the small surface area of your skin keeps your core temperature at 37 degrees despite the cooler waters.
Stay open to sense and experience yourself as a humpback whale.
Light hues from the surface of the sea quickly transform to darker shades and shadows.
Stay with your breath.
Stay with your breath.
Being open to this journey with the sea,
The ancient ocean.
Being open to being the humpback whale,
Allowing any reflections,
Memories,
Visuals intuitively and smoothly be received.
And here you are at a comfortable depth of 60 meters.
You choose to swim and glide freely,
Combing the area for food,
Using your keen senses,
Your inner knowing that connects you to all things near and far.
You choose to swim and glide freely,
Combing the area for food,
Using your keen senses,
And it's here that you notice a symphony of sounds,
Vibrations,
Thousands of colors,
Kilometers away.
These are received through the many sensors on your head,
Your head which makes up a third of your entire body.
What do you hear?
What do you sense?
You begin to notice a certain melodic frequency from neighboring whales coming into your awareness,
The unique pitches,
Bellows,
And groans.
It is a song of invitation,
A call to feed.
And so guided by your alert senses,
You swim,
Swim 13 kilometers an hour,
You swim so freely knowing exactly where you need to go.
The currents brush up against your five meter long side pectoral fins,
Keeping you balanced as you cut through the waters.
And precisely locating the source of the song,
You are in the presence of 10 other beautiful humpback whales.
And deep within yourself,
There is a collective wisdom that you share something that sparks inside a light,
That same light shared with all whales,
All 11.
And so in sync,
You all deep down dive into the ancient ocean one more time,
Sensing ahead of you a fast and fluttering vibration growing stronger and stronger,
Attracting you as you continue to dive deeper.
The fluttering vibration appears to be a school of herring,
Shimmering and shining.
And you dive beneath,
Under the fish,
And just with as much force and as much knowing,
You swoop back up,
Creating a spiral dance as you rise up,
Rising,
Rising,
Blowing bubbles out of your blowhole.
These bubbles swirl about,
Lifting up as you do towards the surface.
All 11 whales creating a circle of bubbles surrounding the school of herring.
And as you breach above,
Shimmers of light leap about.
You are surrounded by a feast of herring and you open your mouth wide so that hundreds of fish excitedly jump inside your mouth as you swallow them whole.
Feeling satisfied,
You've had your second meal of the day,
4500 pounds of fish filling your belly.
And it's here,
Floating at the surface.
Take a moment to gaze up at the setting sun.
Light turns to dark.
And before you swim to a safe place for you to cycle in your sleep,
Just take a few moments here receiving this experience.
And as we come to the end of our practice,
We send our thanks to our whale guides of the past,
The present,
And the future,
To their spirit,
And for their messages that they have shared with us since the beginning of time.
And we hope that they will continue to carry us forward in love and compassion and unity.
Take a moment here to also send thanks to yourself for being here and choosing to go inward.
Those that are meditating together now,
In the past,
In the future,
We send an offering of thanks for their shared and loving energy.
And to all that surrounds us,
That is allowing us to be here in this moment,
Take a moment to send your gratitude.
I hope that this has connected you more deeply to the peaceful and wise nature of the majestic whale and to yourself.
We'll close our practice with three deep breaths together.
Taking a big breath in and let go.
Again,
Big inhale and release.
One last time in unity together.
Big inhale breath and exhale it out.
Thank you so very much for joining me,
For coming on this inward journey,
Connecting to the beautiful whale.
I hope you have a beautiful rest of your day and week.
So much love to you.
Take good care.
