Hello and welcome to meditation.
Today's meditation will be on the three stillnesses.
Take your seat and connect with your breath.
Start to breathe in longer,
Slower,
And quieter than normal.
Tuning into your breath as we tune into this present moment.
As you breathe in,
Bring yourself fully to this present moment.
And as you breathe out,
Let go of the past.
Let go of the last thought.
And let go of any tension as you breathe out fully,
Emptying your lungs.
And then breathing in a fresh new breath in a fresh new moment.
Breathing in,
I bring myself home to this present moment.
Breathing out,
I let go of the past.
I let go of tension and relax in the here and now.
Give yourself permission to experience the simplicity,
Just being in the present moment.
Allow yourself this time to meditate,
To rejuvenate.
Drop all thoughts of the past,
Not anticipating the future,
And not judging this present moment.
Rest in an openness,
A presence.
As we begin our meditation,
I invite you to sit up just a little bit taller,
Straighter,
Breathing in and rising up through the crown,
Breathing out,
Relaxing your muscles around that beautiful alignment,
That straight posture.
We fully arrive in the present moment.
Giving yourself a moment to let your mind settle down.
Let thoughts move to the back of your mind,
Bring yourself fully to your posture,
To your breath,
To your present-centered awareness.
Fully embody this present moment.
Become aware of your body.
Become aware of the space your body occupies.
And sit very still.
Find that center of gravity.
Find that perfect balance in your posture.
Tune in and focus on the stillness of your body,
Not moving an inch.
Perfectly calm body,
Perfectly still.
Notice that you can sit still.
Experience the stillness of your body.
Allow your breath to become natural,
Breathing itself as the only slight movement your body is making.
Feel the perfect calmness of your body.
I invite you now to notice the silence.
Tune in to the silence.
Notice that you're not making a sound,
Even though you're listening to sounds,
To my voice,
To music.
Notice that you are being silent.
Notice that you are not making a sound.
Tune in and experience your own silence.
Even though there are sounds,
There is silence underneath,
Around,
Surrounding all the sounds.
Just like space allows forms,
The silence allows sounds.
Notice the silence in the sounds.
Notice and experience the silence within yourself,
The silence of your body,
The silence of your mind.
Even though you may have thoughts,
They are silent.
See if you can notice the stillness of your body in the silence of the moment,
At the same time.
Stillness and no sound.
Finally,
I invite you to notice the stillness of your awareness.
Even though there are thoughts there,
Allow your mind to be still by not following them.
Let your thoughts come and go,
But you remain the observer,
The witness,
The unmoved knower of this present moment.
Notice and experience the stillness of your awareness,
Unmoved by thoughts,
Not reacting to sensations.
Still,
Calm.
Everything else moves.
The still point within is the unmoving knower,
The center.
I invite you to notice this,
This very still point of your awareness,
The awareness behind thoughts that doesn't move,
The awareness that's listening,
The awareness that notices your body.
Experience and feel that inner still point,
The stillness of awareness.
So so notice all three stillnesses at once.
Notice once again that your body is perfectly still.
That your words,
Your sounds are perfectly still and silent.
And notice your mind,
Your awareness is perfectly still.
The still point observer of this present moment.
With your body calm and still,
Remaining silent.
Your mind open and unmoved.
Recognising stillness,
Silence and openness.
Give yourself permission to come to rest in stillness,
In silence.
The inner still point of awareness not reacting.
Just rest,
Just be.
Just be still.
That concludes our meditation on the three stillnesses.
I would now like to invite you to just sit.
For the next few minutes,
No more technique,
Nothing left to do.
Nothing to get right and nothing to get wrong.
Just sitting.
