Hello my loves,
My name is Chris and welcome to another guided meditation.
In today's practice,
We will review a Reiki exercise called Gassho Meditation.
Reiki is a universal life force energy and a Japanese energy healing modality that anyone can get attuned to.
Whether or not you are formally attuned to this Reiki energy,
We can all tap into this latent ability for profound clarity,
Peace,
And healing.
I believe Gassho Meditation is the perfect practice for both beginners and experts alike to try.
This can help them connect to that healing energy and that peaceful mindset daily.
Gassho means two hands coming together.
It is a simple Reiki meditation method that anyone can do and was developed by Dr.
Mikau Usui.
He regarded it as the first pillar of Reiki.
Usui would practice this meditation twice daily,
Once in the morning and once at night,
While reciting the Reiki Gokai out loud or quietly in his head,
Which is what we will do today.
The Reiki Gokai are five principles to remind ourselves throughout the day that can help us find that inner bliss.
Combining both into one practice is said to be the secret to inviting happiness into the practitioner's daily life.
For me,
I practice Gassho anytime I need some grounding and focus.
When I practice it with the Gokai,
It reminds me to let go,
Be easy on myself,
And to continue to change that negative or those negative thought patterns to positive ones.
This in turn makes me feel lighter and at peace,
And I hope it does the same for you.
To perform Gassho,
You'll come to a comfortable position and bring your hands together,
Palms facing each other,
In prayer at heart center.
You'll then focus on the area between your palms and try to keep your attention there.
There will be moments of silence and then I will recite each of the five Reiki ideals out loud while giving you time to meditate on them.
So let's begin.
Come to a comfortable position and take a few deep breaths and relax into your seat.
Let go of any thoughts of busyness or worry.
Let this moment be for you.
I invite you to bring your hands now into Gassho at heart center.
Now begin to deepen your breath and focus on the area between your palms.
Without getting too attached to anything,
Just notice what you're feeling,
Notice this sensation.
If your mind gets distracted,
It's completely okay.
Be kind to yourself and then just gently direct your attention back to the space between your palms.
No worry.
So feel the energy activate and then just be here now.
Just for today,
I will not be angry.
Just for today,
I will not worry.
Just for today,
I will be filled with gratitude.
Just for today,
I will be diligent in all my work.
Just for today,
I will be kind to every living being,
Including myself.
Begin to deepen your breath and bring your awareness back into your entire body.
I invite you to bow your head down to the great wise teacher that resides in each and every one of us.
Thanking you all truly for coming to share this practice with me.
Namaste.
Love you all.
