Hello my loves,
This is Chris and thank you for letting me lead you through this guided meditation.
In today's practice we'll go over Pramaripranayama.
Pramaripranayama or bumblebee breath is a calming breathing technique that utilizes a humming sound on the out breath.
It's going to sound like a swarm of buzzing bees.
Breathing in this way helps to elongate the breath which in turn increases the absorption of fresh oxygen throughout the body and blood.
A regular practice of Pramaripranayama can help to tone your vagal nerve and having a toned vagal nerve can help to activate our parasympathetic nervous system which in turn helps to decrease stress,
Anxiety,
And anger in the body and mind.
It's one of my favorite breathing practices to practice.
My students also love it and it's just so yummy and it just makes us feel so happy.
So let's get to it!
So the format of the meditation today will be as follows.
We'll start the practice by having me slowly guide you through three rounds of this breath so that you can get used to this humming vibration as it starts to permeate throughout the body.
After this short guided intro you'll return to your normal breath and just notice any of the after effects that you might feel from maybe breathing this technique.
And then after that I'll come back and I'll guide you through five more rounds of this breath and then I'll just stop the cuing and give you some time to practice as many rounds as you like at your own speed and intensity.
And then finally you'll be guided to come back to your normal breathing pattern and bring your awareness back to maybe any shifts you might feel in the body or the mind.
So now let's start our practice!
To begin this practice let's come into a comfortable position.
This could be either seated on the floor or maybe even a chair or maybe even lying down.
Let's bring the thumb and the pointer finger together.
A little hand gesture and just rest them on the lap.
You put the palms up if you're feeling a little bit more open to energy or maybe you put the palms down if you want to feel a little bit more grounded.
Let the eyes gently close as we deepen the breath here.
I'll begin our practice here by taking three deep cleansing breaths.
Breathing in through the nose here,
Open the mouth,
Let it out.
Two more times.
Deep breath in,
Deep breath out,
Deep breath in,
Deep breath out.
Let's maybe first bring our attention to maybe what's buzzing around in the body.
Just notice maybe how the breath is.
Just notice if there's any particular area in the body that might be buzzing.
Maybe it's telling you it's tight,
Uncomfortable.
And next maybe we can bring your awareness to anything that might be buzzing or maybe nagging in the mind.
We're just going to notice it here.
No right,
No wrong.
Let's begin our humming breath here by taking a deep breath in through the nose and on the exhale humming out.
Deep breath in,
Hum it out,
Deep breath in,
Last hum out moment and return to your normal breathing pattern and just sit with this for a moment.
Maybe you can notice if there's any shifts in the body or the mind.
I know for me I usually tend to feel a little vibration or a little tickling sensation in either like the heart space,
Sometimes the throat or third eye.
All depends on the day,
What my body needs.
Let's practice five more breaths together here.
Deep breath in,
Continue at your own pace here.
Let's all return once more to breath.
Then just notice if you feel any shifts maybe in the body,
The mind,
The heart,
The lungs,
The lungs,
The lungs,
The mind.
And always remember that even though sometimes you may,
You may not feel these subtle shifts,
Always remember that you're making a positive difference in your self-healing journey.
Keep returning to your practice and you'll see a consistent change.
Let's take a deep breath in,
Bring our hands up overhead.
As we exhale,
Hands can meet a prayer at heart center.
We'll bow our head down to the great and wise teacher that resides in each and every one of us,
Thanking you for coming and sharing in this meditation today.
The God light and everything good inside me bows and honors the God light and everything good inside each and every one of you.
Namaste,
Love you all.
