Welcome to the anxiety check-in.
What can I actually handle today?
So let's go ahead and ground into now.
I want you to ground into your current context today.
I want you to come to your body and notice.
Notice the tightness in your eyebrows.
Go ahead and give the molars in the back of your mouth some extra space.
Allow your jaw to release.
Notice if you are holding your breath.
Go ahead and let the rest of that out.
And bring attention to the space between your toes and the space that is holding your body up.
Bring yourself back to your body.
So let's think about your resources.
Similar to your bank account,
You have finite resources.
I want you to think about your anxiety and your nervous system.
There are finite resources there as well.
Looking at your day,
I want you to come back to your body and ask yourself,
What am I currently resourced to do?
What am I not resourced to do?
When you think about your resource capability,
You might think of areas like,
Do I have resources mentally,
Emotionally,
Physically,
Relationally?
Spiritually,
What sort of resources do you have today?
We know that anxiety increases when we ask our body to do more than what we are resourced to do.
If we constantly live in this deficit,
We begin normalizing a state of anxiety,
That isn't sustainable for anyone's nervous system.
It often can spiral into feelings of resentment,
Irritability,
And really not giving the best parts of ourselves.
So when you're checking into today,
To your context,
Come back to your body.
Remember those molars.
Remember the eyebrows.
When we check into what we're resourced to do today,
Come inward,
Let your body vote.
And we ask ourselves,
What am I resourced to do today?
What am I not resourced to do today?
