Today we're going to open to gratitude for our bodies,
Our physical dimension.
There's so many aspects to being alive.
There's our body,
There's our feelings,
There's our mind,
There's our spiritual connection and today we're going to tune into our body.
So when you're ready just closing your eyes,
Finding a comfortable position with your shoulders back and down and really sensing into your body and your physicality and how your body would like to sit.
How would it sit if it felt grateful,
If it was to express gratitude?
Gratitude for the sensations in our body like the sensation of breathing.
How amazing is just that.
We sense the breath in our nose,
In our throat,
In our upper chest,
Lower chest,
Upper belly,
Lower belly,
The back,
The ribs,
The sides.
It's amazing just watching the breath and how it flows in and out rhythmically.
And see if you can find a thank you for this body of mine.
Thank you.
Thank you for these hands that rest right now and have this opportunity to express love,
To hold,
To comfort,
To encourage,
To be tender,
To dig in the dirt in the garden.
There's so many things we can do just with our hands and that's just one tiny part of our body.
There's so much more.
There's our feet that can walk,
That can sense the ground and always our connection with the ground.
There's our ears,
What you can hear right now.
You can hear my voice and maybe other noises around you.
I could be here all day just talking about all the amazing things our bodies do that we can be grateful for.
Just sensing into your body,
Into that life force in your body and how it perceives life through its senses.
A sense of hearing and smelling and tasting and the felt sense in the body and of course seeing.
What a miracle that is that we have these tactile ways to experience life.
We were given all this to experience life to its fullest.
And whatever relationship you have with your body which sometimes for some of us isn't so easy,
See if you can go a little deeper into this sense of gratitude that I am embodied.
I'm not just floating around in space I am embodied and through my body I can experience life in such an amazing way including a sense of meditation or stillness.
So if you're using this as an intro into your meditation just go into your meditation and into the sense of stillness with your senses fully alert,
Awake and with a sense of gratitude that even stillness,
Meditation,
Prayer are all things we can experience through our body.
Thanking the grace that made your body,
That created your body,
That gave you your senses.
And if you're using this as an intro into your meditation you can pause me now and come back when you're ready.
Before we get off our meditation for the Lord's share let's take a moment to take this to envision taking this sense of gratitude for our body,
For our senses,
For the way that we can experience life in an incarnated way,
Taking that sense of gratitude with you as you get up and whoever you meet,
Whatever you meet,
Meet it with a sense of gratitude and openness and curiosity and a willingness to be surprised.
Have a beautiful day or evening.
