Hello,
My name is Brielle Brazil.
I am a breathwork facilitator and today I would love to share with you a breathwork exercise for you to release anxiety.
Our relationship to anxiety is so important.
It's one that I used to struggle with a lot myself and I found that when I actually allow my anxiety to take up space,
To observe it,
To listen to it,
And to ask it what it needs,
I'm able to learn from it and then I'm able to release it and shift it through the power of my breath.
So we're going to start in a meditative position.
You can either be sitting up,
Back straight,
Or lying down.
Going ahead and placing your palms facing down for a grounding energy.
And just sitting and observing your breath right now in this moment without trying to fix or change it.
Just observing each inhale and observing each exhale.
Noticing all sensations that are present in your body.
Being with the quickness,
Being with the speed of your heart,
The sensations that are in your throat,
The feeling that's in your belly.
And now just beginning to invite in some conscious breathing.
Breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth.
With each breath trying to elongate,
Trying to slow down the inhale through the nose.
And releasing,
Exhaling through the mouth.
Continuing with that breath as I explain what our breath pattern for today is going to be.
We will be doing three rounds of this type of breathing with three different breath blends in each round.
So the first breath you're going to be doing is nostril breathing.
It's done all through the nose.
The inhale and the exhale is done powerfully.
So it sounds a little bit like this.
We'll be starting with 50 of those.
Followed by five sigh breaths,
Which is exactly what it sounds like.
An inhale through the nose and then sighing,
Releasing out of the mouth.
And ending with one breath hold,
Which is where you just inhale all the energy through your nose up to the top of your crown and hold your breath for as long as you can.
We are going to be doing that blend through three rounds.
So sitting with your back up straight or lying down with your palms to the side,
Palms facing down to ground your energy.
Let's begin with just three cleansing breaths in through the nose and let it go out through the mouth.
Inhaling to gather all the energy to the top and exhaling out of the mouth to release,
To reduce that anxiety.
One last cleansing breath and then starting together with that nose breathing.
Power breath 50 times.
That's it.
You've got it.
You've got it.
Keeping the inhale and the exhale nice and active through the nose.
Shifting the energy with your breath.
Taking ten more of those nose breaths.
Releasing in three,
Two,
One and moving straight into the side breath.
Inhaling through the nose and letting out a big sigh with the mouth.
Four more.
Last two.
And on the next inhale,
Inhaling through your nose from the root of your spine all the way up to the crown of your head and holding your breath at the top.
Holding right here for as long as you can.
Knowing that you are in control and you can release your breath whenever you want to.
You have the power.
Your strength and your power lies within you with your breath to shift any emotions that you feel.
Releasing that breath when you're ready.
Just letting yourself rest.
Palms facing down,
Grounding the energy.
You have the power to release,
To shift your anxiety,
To shift your emotional state through your breath.
And now when you're ready,
We're going to take a deep breath in and out.
If you need to slow down the nose breaths,
You can.
Just focusing on the depth of your breath.
Taking ten more of these powerful breaths.
Powerful inhale,
Powerful exhale with the nose.
Releasing in three,
Two,
One.
Moving right back on into those sigh breaths.
Taking two more sigh breaths.
Releasing that final sigh and moving into the next breath hold.
Breathing in through the nose from the base of your spine all the way up to the crown of your head.
Gathering all the energy and holding at the top.
Remembering that you are in control of your breath.
You are in control of your body.
And you can release your breath whenever you desire.
And if you begin to feel a little dizzy or a little lightheaded,
That's normal.
If it's uncomfortable,
You can release and let go.
You don't have to stay with anything you don't want to.
Just releasing that breath and noticing the shift in your body from two rounds.
Noticing the shift before we begin the final round.
Beautiful work.
And together we'll begin the final round with fifty powerful breaths in and out through the nose.
Feeling the belly snapping in and snapping out as you breathe.
Using those powerful breaths to breathe in love and compassion.
To exhale fear,
Anxiety and stress.
Ten more of those powerful breaths.
You're doing great.
Releasing in three,
Two,
One.
Moving straight into five sigh breaths.
Knowing that you have permission here to make your sighs as big and as loud as you want to and you need to.
One last sigh and then moving into our final breath.
Gathering up all the energy and holding that breath at the top.
Noticing any thoughts,
Observing the mind.
Noticing if there's more clarity,
If there's more silence,
If there's more space both in your mind and in your body.
Holding this last breath for as long as you can.
Whenever you need to you can release the breath letting out a final sigh.
And as you let go just bringing both hands up to your heart.
Connecting with your heart space.
Just scanning your body after these three rounds of breath work.
Noticing the differences between when you started this practice and now.
Staying here for as long as you need to,
For as long as you'd like to.
Just absorbing the benefits of your practice.
Showing some gratitude and some thanks to yourself for showing up for you today.
For having the courage and the bravery to feel your emotions and to shift them through the power of your breath.
Thanks for joining me.
I can't wait to see you next time.
Bye for now.

Loved it! Would have liked more time before, after or in between breathing sets to check in and notice what's shifting and reflect. But otherwise, powerful!
