Welcome to the Wabi Sabi Well Sound Bath Chakra Balancing Chimes Meditation.
Coming to lie down on your spine or perhaps finding a seat that is comfortable for you on a chair or a cushion,
Either way invite a quality of relaxed wakefulness into your posture.
Close your eyes,
Making any last movements or adjustments.
Turn the volume down on your thoughts and ask your body and your mind to settle.
We begin the practice by taking a few full belly breaths.
Inhale through the nose,
Feel a slow rise of your belly.
See if you can pause for a moment at the top of the breath,
Then exhaling slowly empty the lungs completely.
Again inhale deeply,
Letting the breath travel all the way down into the lower abdomen.
Pause and exhale.
One more deep breath in through the nose,
Pause at the top and sifo exhale.
Settle back into the natural tidal rhythms of your breath,
The easy ebb and flow,
Allowing your breath to act as a natural pathway out of your mind and into your body.
Notice how your body feels.
Let your attention be drawn to areas that feel tight.
Are there any muscles still online,
Listening for places that haven't yet switched off?
Pause at a point that feels tense and feel a soft awareness around it.
Sense the possibility of directing your next breath into this contracted space.
Give the promise of expansion with the in-breath and a gentle letting go,
A relaxing on the out-breath.
Continue to breathe into this area until you sense a shift,
Even if it's only subtle.
Notice the softening.
You might rest your attention in the shoulders,
Each breath soothing tightly bound knots,
Opening them,
Softening,
Dissolving into spaciousness.
Smooth the brow,
Letting go of thoughts and worries.
Imagine the space behind the eyes,
The muscles around the eyes,
Letting the jaw be unhinged.
Feel yourself smiling gently on a cellular level,
A quality of friendly ease.
Let it wash over your resting features.
Guide your attention now to the center of your chest.
As you rest here,
Notice any sensations that arise,
Perhaps a subtle resonance,
A warmth,
A sense of animation,
Perhaps nothing at all and that's okay.
Attention alone will often elicit a response.
So just leaning in closely,
Quietly,
Listening for your intention.
What are you seeking?
What do you desire?
Peace,
Loving presence,
Freedom.
Listen deeply,
Do not force or overthink it.
Let your intention gently come to you.
The words don't have to be perfect.
They are simply a container,
A vehicle for heart energy.
So trust the first sincere thought,
Feeling or image that comes into mind.
As the quality of your inner stillness deepens,
Take your listening attention outward.
Simply notice sounds,
Sounds both close in and distant.
You might narrow and widen the lens of your attention,
Being selective about what sounds you choose to tune into,
Moving from one sound to another.
And if you hear any unexpected sounds or background white noise during this meditation,
Simply include them in your experience.
You might hear conversations in the distance,
A dog barking,
Birds singing,
Traffic,
The wind through the leaves.
Receive them all as part of the here and now,
This moment,
This moment that exists beyond and in spite of your thoughts,
This moment that is vast and edgeless.
Just listen.
Notice what you notice.
And if you notice you've wandered off into thought,
Gently lift your listening attention off the story or the looping dialogue,
Like lifting the needle off the record player of thoughts again and again,
Returning to sound instead of thoughts.
Whether there are no interruptions or interferences,
Just this moment and the experience of sounds in this moment.
Find yourself there's nothing to do but listen.
Listening now to the distinct silvery tones of the chimes,
Simply observing the pure harmonics as they arise in consciousness.
Notice the moment the sound arises,
Follow the note to the point it disappears back into the silence from which it came.
Notice yourself listening and becoming more present to the expansive space in which sound moves.
Receiving the vibrations,
Sense the possibility of realigning your physical and emotional bodies as the sounds wash through.
And we close this practice by again listening inward.
You might like to gently place your left palm over your heart and then your right palm over your left.
As you rest your awareness in the chest and heart area,
Invite your intention forward and create a mantra or a statement that supports it.
It might be as simple as I am love in action,
I embody pure presence or I am a beautiful expression of the highest vibration.
In the silent space of your mind offer yourself these blessings and gather all your attention behind each phrase.
And with the quality of affection and care offer them to yourself.
And then sensing your heart space as edgeless.
And your heart is vast,
Open and inclusive.
And offering these invocations,
These prayers,
These blessings out to all beings.
Thank you and Namaste.
